Layne's does not fall into that group. The tenders were hot, juicy, and seasoned. The spicy tenders pushed the flavor even higher. This is strong performance for fast food. The fries impressed me. They had crunch on the outside and plenty of salt. They stopped right before too much salt. Most places fail here. Layne's did not. The toast was simple, buttery, and toasted well. When we arrived it was late and instead of glaring at us for coming in near closing time, we were greeted with kindness. We asked what their favorite was and we ordered it. Had the Foul Mouth sandwich combo and cheddar biscuits with some chicken nuggets. The chicken was absolutely delicious with a spiced crust perfectly fried. The chicken was moist and when we added the sauces, we lost our mind. The biscuits are amazing too, but with the honey butter they were divine. Waldo's has a choice of three types of service: drive through/pick up service which is perfect for people under 21 and tee-totalers; counter service where you can still order alcohol but you have to do all the work and pay as you go; and full service at the bar where someone else does the work for you for a tip like a regular restaurant. Best thing at the end of the meal was NO STICKER SHOCK!! I estimated $35 (pre-tax&tip), and the actual bill was $35.57 (with tax). I always think I'm lucky if I estimate within $2 of the actual bill, so I can't beat that!! I will definitely eat and drink here again, and I recommend it to everyone!
