Never had a good day with this bank and will never recommend it to anyone. I specifically…read moreinstructed this bank to not payout any funds if there is not enough to cover the charges. They went right ahead and made payments to five payments when no funds were available in the account and charging a $30 NSF per transaction even when I told them to stop all drafts at $0. This is just one incident out of a few others I've had with this bank which forced me to bank elsewhere.

Okay, so I really don't know how to review this financial institution due to the fact that I have…read moreconflicting feelings of how to rate it at this moment. This is the ONLY credit union in Beeville and surrounding counties. I really like it, yet I don't at the same time. Their customer service is awesome, especially the only guy that works there. I can't remember his name, but he sits in one of the glass offices. If I have any big issues, I always would want to go to him. He is super nice, and is a super cool guy. I've also banked with them for a very long time, so I can tell you a thing or two about it. What I DON'T like about Navy Army, is that they don't release your funds to you until 9am the day the company you're employeed with deposits your paycheck. I called customer service on the phone (calling will send you to the customer service in Corpus Christi) to find out if my paycheck had been deposited. The woman on the phone told me, "we are not obligated to release your funds to your account until 9am the day you're supposed to be paid." This is why I don't use them as my primary account. I personally feel that Navy Army makes a good supplemental account, like a savings or just another account to have if you live in Beeville. Every credit union I have ever vested money with (other than Navy Army) has always released my funds and made available to me the day before. Even Chase Bank will even release your funds at midnight, before you wake up in the morning. This is the only financial institution that has said to me, that they are NOT obligated to release my funds until 9am the day of...... And trust me, they live up to that comment. I can assure you that. However, I do enjoy going to this credit union in particular, (the one in Beeville) however, I am not so crazy about the credit union as a whole (the company itself). Online banking is so NOT user friendly, neither is the mobile app. If you happen to be out of town (which I am all the time) and you need to check your balance online, or use your mobile app just for a balance check and are UNable to do either for whatever reason, like you have no 4G in the area you're are at for example, which causes you to need to talk to a live representative; the live rep will let you know that Navy Army will charge you a fee just for them letting you know what your balance is. So, you're basically screwed if you don't know what your balance is, but yet you don't want to overdraft your account just because you need to know what your balance is. So sadly I have to say, (even though I'm all about buying local products and doing everything local for local businesses) I feel I can NOT bank locally if I am bias towards using credit unions verses banks. I have always used credit unions and will never use banks unless I have no choice to only because normally using a credit union tends to be easier to bank with while having the friendlier service that tends to meet my personal financial needs. With that said, I have had to invest with an out-of-town credit union that DOES meet my needs such as, release my funds the day before, doesn't charge me a fee to inquire my balance with a representative via phone, and doesn't charge me extra fees to use another credit unions ATM if I need to withdraw cash because I'm out-of-town. Yes Navy Army does charge you to use another ATM from another credit union. Also, for some reason, you can't use your Navy Army card outside the USA if you're traveling, even when you do let them know you are leaving the country. The upside of it all, is that Navy Army DOES DO shared branching if you go inside and talk to the teller about your shared branching credit union which you may need to deposit or withdraw. In the past, Navy Army has been very useful to me when transferring funds back and forth between my parents and I when I lived out-of-state. So, if you're looking for a bank that does that, Navy Army is really good with that. You just have to go inside the building and talk to the teller during banking hours verses being able to just use the ATM outside. This credit union has its ups and downs, and ultimately- it really just depends what you're trying to do and what you want to do. Every person's situation is different. I personally find it useful for Navy Army to be my supplemental credit union that I may need once in awhile when I can't drive all the way out-of-town. Over all, customer service at this location really is good. I have to hand it to them on that. But again, at this location (Beeville).
