I received a call from David who answered all my questions and invited me to try it without strings attached. I was on the fence for a few months not sure if I wanted to try until I decided to give it a shot. Their schedule was perfect because it was 20 mins away from where I live/work and I could pop in right after work. So I said you know what I have nothing to lose. Did the trial and I am hooked ! Going 6 months this coming month. I love the place . It's clean, well kept, the trainers are wonderful and it has a very welcoming and engaging atmosphere. I think I found my sanctuary :)

Immediate 5 stars for that, friendly, open and engaging, with rolling that was controlled with escalating intensity that remained safe. One of the few places I have been to that took time before rolling to remind people to be open to a conversation about your physical state and goals for that session. Safe, controlled, technical and open to higher intensity when both parties are up for it. Various skill levels from beginners to old school black belts. I can not sing the praises of the environment more. MORE IMPORTANTLY! The locker rooms and showers were top 5 for all the places I have trained. I feel blessed if there is one warm shower with decent water pressure and a line that is less than a 10 minute wait. This place has a locker room, with over size lockers for gear, and multiple showers with those giant square rainfall overhead shower things that feels like you are in a warm monsoon and I didn't feel guilty for taking a shower that was longer than a minute. Also soap and shampoo provided, or I stole someone's shampoo without knowing. Either way it was great.

I started at Evolution in the Fall of 2013 with the intentions of joining the fight team. By the Summer of 2014, I had my first fight with Evolution and won unanimous. Prior to becoming a member at Evolution I had a strong background in Karate & Boxing. However, there were a lot of holes in my game that Brandon quickly fixed. He is excellent at translating information, correcting form, providing motivation, and creating a platform for individuals to grow. Not only did I win my first fight under Brandon, but by 2016 I achieved 5 championship belts and a Gold Medal for Team USA. From originally having an awkward style to becoming proficient in Muay Thai - I would say Evolution is an outstanding place to train. Whether you are training to fight, become fit, build confidence, or learn the techniques - YOU will get all of that accomplished here. The amount of work you invest in your training will reflect. I don't have anything negative to say about this gym, but a response to the reviews that are not 5 stars: 1. If it is your FIRST TIME visiting, arrive on time. 2. The gym is usually HOT when it's crowded. As a person who occasionally travels to Thailand for extensive training - I prefer training in warm facilities to prevent injuries and sweat out sodium. 3. Brandon is comical, but just like any trainer - he knows when to be serious. Training is already tough and can be intimidating to newcomers, so it's important to remember to have fun.

Every class is different. No two are really the same. Even when I would attend two on the same day, what would be worked on would vary. I got to meet some really great people during my time there. You bond over your time on the mats together and there is a connection that is felt between all (at least that is my take on it). Even though it went unstated; it was there. Even between those whom I hadn't really interacted much with. . . The common thread of Sitan gym had woven us all together. Aziz has to have some of the best energy I've encountered. He is always quick to smile and slow to frown. He would bring his daughters in often (and his wife trains in the classes as well). This really made for a beautiful feeling of family that spread outwards. I learned so much when I was there. Got to train with those who had never thrown a punch before - all the way up to true fighters. All the while watching my own abilities increase exponentially. . . When I started there I was in the former group, with little martial arts experience before. By the time I was about to move from the area I had quite a few others ask me if I was thinking of fighting myself.

Neither of us had any experience with Muay Thai before but we were up for the physical and mental challenge of learning something new. They do offer a trial class for you to go and see if you like the atmosphere and the sport itself. I would highly recommend doing a few private lessons to really master some basics that you can then implement in the class. That's what we did, we did private lessons weekly for close to 3 months before enrolling in the classes themselves. Im glad that we did that as I felt much more knowledgeable and comfortable going into class and knowing what I needed to work on to improve. The people that work there are wonderful and the students are great too! Everyone is very inviting and friendly which I think is important for a new person stepping into an atmosphere, that from the outside, might look intimidating. If you're considering a martial art to try Muay Thai is fun and an intense workout! But they do also offer BJJ, I do not practice this so cannot personally touch on it, but I have friends who do those classes and they love them! All in all, it's a great facility with amazing people making it a fun experience, intense training session, all for an affordable price. You're missing out if you don't at least look into Hinds!

He cares a lot about the students, and after class gave me pointers on how to work out and be more relaxed... above and beyond the scope of duty. The BJJ instructors were quite friendly as well. They throw you into the deep end here for BJJ... everyone learns the same drills, so there's no "easy different drill". Which can be both a good thing (you learn with rest of class, and you get forced to catch up) or bad thing (you might not need such a specialist technique) depending on your opinion. Value: 5/5 They have a great deal on Groupon, but I think they have a great welcome offer as well. They didn't try to hard-sell you an upgrade when you sign up, and didn't even need a credit card # when I used my groupon. Environment: 4.5/5 Community seems quite friendly. People were willing to help you out, and weren't looking to hurt you. What more could you ask for? He escaped almost everything (such as music soccer, basket ball, cooking even other Taekwondo class in upper east side), except Tiger J Taekwondo. What I really like about here is that Masters are 100% engaged with kids during the class. They are so considerate, passionate and encouraging. I love how Master OK is full of love and energy, very fun and caring. He even called us during the pandemic to check how kids are doing. I love Master Hyuk for his amazing technic to bring crying kids back to Dojan. It's magical. He listen, he set up the smaller goal and very supportive. He has amazing Taekwondo technics and his form is beautiful. Master Wu is also fantastic. My older son has ADHD, and has focus issue. I think he improved a lot thanks to this special place and extraordinary Masters. I can not recommend this place enough. We moved out of the city during the pandemic, and now my two boys continue Taekwondo in different Dojan. We still miss Tiger J, and very thankful that we could spend time with them. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I will give them million starts.
