The Box Combo
Julie L.

I was excited to get to come to Raising Canes for lunch since we were in Largo. It had been over a decade since I had been to Raising Canes and I was excited to see if it was as good as I remembered. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor was industrial and had a lot of fun, quirky details.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went to the counter and ordered the Box combo. The staff member was friendly and polite. The chicken fingers were fresh and tender, the fries were lightly crispy and salted perfectly, the coleslaw was very tasty and the Canes sauce was just as good as I remembered. The meal did not disappoint. It was so nice to get to enjoy this again. I look forward to coming back again soon.

Tried Raising Cane's and it definitely hit the spot. The chicken tenders were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right. Their signature Cane's sauce tied everything together--it's the kind of flavor that keeps you dipping until it's gone. The fries were golden and fresh, and the Texas toast added a nice buttery touch to the meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly and efficient, even during a busy lunch rush.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, a great spot for quick, quality comfort food when you're craving something fried and flavorful.

Basic boring chicken tenders with soggy fries and soggy bread and soggy coleslaw.

Super crazy busy and I just don't get the hype! 1/2 out of 5 stars. Unpopular opinion - It's bland chicken tenders (publix is better) and fries. Coleslaw is subpar and the sauce is OK. Everything is fried. Their menu has 0 variety and consist of chicken tenders, fries, bread and coleslaw. Nothing grilled and no salads or fresh fruit. This is the "idea" of food.

Loveeee a good Canes moment. Going to college in a town that had Canes - everyone knew that Canes was the spot. So happy that I came across one in the Tampa area (even though it's a bit far from me). Simple review - Chicken is amazing & seasoned well, crinkle fries are superior, but the SAUCE... the sauce holds all the power here. See ya again soon Canes.

We got here around 1045 for late breffist/early lunch between other errands. This one is a lot quieter and lower key than the one on Gulf to Bay, thankfully. For one thing the employees don't hoot and holler. Order taker at the counter didn't even notice us for a minute and when he did, all he said was "what can I get for you?" We both got 3-finger combos sans toast for extra slaw. Doesn't even seem that the cup of slaw was much bigger than the ones on the other orders that came out subsequent to ours. Oh, well: at least I didn't have to toss out that godawful excuse for "Texas toast" they seem to think goes with an order of fried chicken tenders. What still mystifies me is their claim to make fries to order. I find that hard to believe since when our food FINALLY came out after about seven minutes, fries were already lukewarm and limp rather than hot and crisp. Tenders, on the other hand, were quite warm and crisp...go figure. Meanwhile, the people who were already waiting when we first arrived didn't get their food until AFTER we did. The next few people who came in afterward, oddly enough, all got their food in less than a minute. I suppose timing is everything after all... Slaw is still the same yummy stuff as previously, albeit in a (barely) bigger cup. Still beats their godawful toast crap, which is probably best to for lining the bottom of a birdcage. Also the same is their salty sauce for the tenders. A lot of folks swear by it; I don't. Tasted more like a salt laden remoulade than what I recalled from my previous visit to the other location in Clearwater. Most of the employees seemed to be keeping themselves busy doing different things when the store itself was quiet. It's good to see that these folks have something to do to justify the high prices. I say that is true with the exception of ONE redheaded employee. This girl did absolutely NOTHING but sit in a booth totally engaged in a tablet and totally disengaged FROM anything going on around her in the store. We were there for well over a half hour and this kid barely moved or did anything but gawk at that damn iPad or tablet. What kind of look does that present to the paying public choosing to "dine in"? While I'm sure the owner or manager can come up with some lame excuse or coverup, I still believe perceptions speak loudly. One good thing transpired out of this visit. My dear Queen Bee had her hankering for chicken tenders dispatched. I won't go too much farther on this particular note...I simply say the same thing as I did when we visited their sister location: "eh!"

Stop by raising canes today, just to get lunch. Speedy service and phenomenal customer service. Ain't outside and went inside just to get a cup of ice for my cup, which was a personal cup and they still brought me an additional cup of ice. Definitely would recommend this location. Come enjoy some good food and fast service.

Ordered the 4 piece box. Chicken came out screaming hot, nice big pieces and very juicy. It needed more seasonings, I added salt and pepper. Love the dipping sauce. Fries were fresh and hot, and the cole slaw was good. Texas toast was toasted perfectly. My favorite is their sweet tea sweetened with Pure Cane sugar. Dining room was clean but it is very cold, most were sitting outside which has a very nice covered seating area. Bring a jacket if you plan on sitting inside. Makes sense that the cashier was wearing a Raising Cane's sweatshirt.

As prior Oklahomans, Raising Canes was a staple for us years ago. All these years later, it still holds up for us. The menu is limited to basics, mainly just how many chicken fingers do you want. But they do it well. The chicken itself is good but it's the Cane's sauce that sends it over the top! Much better than CFA sauce or Zaxby's sauce, it's a tangy blend of delicious flavors. The fries are fine. I always substitute the cole slaw out for a 2nd toast because the toast is my favorite side. Just the right amount of butter with an almost sweet taste. Carry-out service was quick. And they don't advertise it much but they do have a Caniac Club where you get free Box combos after signing up, on your sign-up anniversary, and other deals throughout the year. Overall, this is a good chicken place. It falls behind Chick-fil-A for me and just a bit behind PDQ but ahead of Zaxby's.

Chicken was cooked well but the fries were terrible and the soda was flat and the coleslaw was ok at best. Not worth the time.

My husband and I stopped by The Habit Burger & Grill last night while we were in the St. Pete area,…read moreand it was such a great experience! We're originally from California and moved to Florida a little over a year ago, and ever since then we've definitely been craving The Habit. We were so excited to stumble upon this location! One of the first things we noticed was that it wasn't busy at all -- which honestly shocked us (in the best way). Back in California, every Habit location always seemed packed at all hours of the day, so this felt like a treat. I ordered the Teriyaki Char with crispy green beans, and my husband got the Double Char meal with fries. Somehow, the food tasted even better than what we remember from California! My burger was cooked to a perfect medium -- which is rare to find at a fast-casual spot -- and it made such a difference. Everything was hot, fresh, and flavorful. We also had the pleasure of chatting with the manager, Danielle, who was incredibly friendly -- and funny enough, she's originally from California too! Small world! Every employee we encountered was welcoming, kind, and made sure to greet us when we arrived and wish us a good night when we left. The restaurant was very clean and well-kept, which we really appreciated. Overall, such a wonderful experience. We can't wait to come back the next time we're in the Clearwater area!

I'm not really sure why. I ordered the single charburger with cheese, fries and a Pepsi. Sadly, the burger was nothing special. No better to me than Whataburger or Burger King. For a flame grilled burger, Seminole Gyros and Subs is far superior for the same price. Culver's is better as well, for the same price, although it's not flame grilled. I'm afraid this is my first and last visit here.

Authentic NYC Big Apple's fried & Fresh Halal!…read more So very very happy to find this place! I was just driving by & saw their sign & decided to stop in & see if they did have Authentic NYC Halal street food, which is one of my all time favorites, as I spent a great deal of time (12 years) living, working, going to college in NYC. And YES! Yes they do have Authentic NYC halal street food OuiOui ! The first visit, I got a chicken & Lamb to go. It smelled so good it didn't even make it home untouched, I was cramming it in my pie hole at red lights OuiOui :)... Then, I tried to hide the rest from Sir Hubbers but with his sensei street food senses, he smelled me & moi hoarded halal right out! LOL So second visit, I wanted to get another Halal chicken & lamb combo dish, but with two red sauces & two white sauces this time, bc one of each was just not enough yummy sauce for moi the first time, so me thinks two of each is the way to go! Two Red Sauces Two White sauces OuiOui. So I got the chicken & lamb combo to go again, with 2 red 2 white sauces on the side, but this time I remembered as I was walking out the door, to stop & take a photo, b4 said hoarding befall's me again! LOL :)... So I go over to one of the 7 cute little MOD tables that are inside & sit down & take a photo of the chicken & lamb dish he just made me with the 2 sauces on the side... The Big Apple's fried & fresh Halal owner comes running out, sees me taking bites with my fingers, dipping the chicken & lamb in the sauces with my fingers, taking photos, being a total nerd! lol He is like "I thought you wanted it to go!" Ask me if he can get me some utensils, wanting to save me from my barbaric ways hahahah! :)... He was so cute! Such a nice guy, just a regular New Yorker, we hit it off instantly. I told him I WAS taking it to go, but I just wanted to take a beautiful photo of it fresh, so I could post it & I then showed it to him... He was like "Oh! That is very nice! Please tell everyone to come see me!" So, "Everyone, come to the Big Apple's Fried & Fresh for some Authentic halal!" The owner is a very cool dude from New York, speaks perfect English, makes incredible Authentic halal street food & wants to give you utensils & save you from your barbaric ways. LOL The best service EVER! :).... Added to moi fave Tampa places/Fave St Petersburg places. AND, I might even start a new list on the "coolest New Yorker owned places."' The Big Apple's Fried & Fresh is tops! New York #Knicks on tops! Winners Circle all the way! OuiOui. Highest Recommendations.

This place is great!!…read more This is not a fancy place, but the food is terrific. I especially like the empanadas and the chicken and/or lamb over rice or salad. If you can handle a little spice, try all four sauces over the chicken or lamb and be ready for a wonderful taste treat. The sauces are made in house with a big variety of ingredients providing a complex taste that is addictive. The owner is friendly and very hospitable. The menu also includes Pakistani/Indian selections like tandoori chicken, but I have not tried them yet. It's hard to pick anything but the chicken/lamb over rice with those sauces.....I think I'm addicted!! Give this place a try.....you will not regret it!!

Visiting around 1:00 p.m. turned out to be the perfect timing; arriving just after the main lunch rush meant it wasn't overly crowded, which made for a very pleasant and relaxed experience. The customer service was exceptional--the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, and they were quick to get the food out. Everything served was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The interior of the restaurant, including the restrooms, was impeccably clean and well-maintained. Being Filipino, I'll admit to a natural fondness for the brand, but even with high standards, this branch truly stands out for its execution. Finding the restaurant is incredibly straightforward as it sits right off the main road in a shared business plaza, providing plenty of easy parking right out front. Cons: Navigating the traffic layout can be a bit tricky depending on your direction of travel. If you need to head out the opposite way on the main road, you cannot make a direct turn and instead have to navigate down the next couple of side streets to find a traffic light to safely turn around. We were so excited but after spending over $50 on 5 pieces of chicken, a yum burger, side spaghetti, palabok, fries and a coconut icy.... We felt it was pretty pricy for 2 adults and 2 kids. The service, was fast food centric and of course they messed up the order and forgot the icy. Oh well. My chicken was passable (I got spicy) but the regular chicken was gross and the guys refused to finish it. The yum burger tastes ultra processed (but still a step up from Whitecastle), the spaghetti was interesting with a banana sweetened ketchup sauce overtop that was slightly unique. The palabok was the most interesting, but somehow also tasted fast foodish and not "fresh". Jollibee's must taste better in other countries? This is our second time trying and every time we leave poorer, disappointed, and with a slight stomachache. Def felt less "jolly" after eating here. No thank you.
