I've come here a handful of times. This last time I was there was on a Friday and was there to pick up stuff to make butter chicken and saffron basmati. They have just what you need and then some. Produce is pretty fresh and as small as it is they really have all the essentials. This past visit I had intentions of stopping into Morgan Hill to pick up some samosas and when I went to check out the cashier asked if I wanted to buy some. $1.50 per veggie samosa and he only offered them on Fridays and Saturdays. I asked (half jokingly) if he made them and he said he purchased them from a restaurant. I told him I kind of wanted him to say his mother or wife made them as homemade is always best. He laughed. I ended up buying 2 and they came with the mint sauce and a tamarind sauce. I got into the car where my husband was waiting. We tried the samosas and he ended up going back inside and purchasing 8 more to take home to our boys and of course more for us to enjoy as well. Parking is a tad tricky since it's such a busy shopping center and Wells Fargo is directly across from it so you may want to back into your parking spot if you can. read more

The place always had consistently higher prices than other similar businesses for identical items, across the board of many items. There were also consistently occurring instances of expired items based on printed dates, across the board, being always stocked on the shelves. Hardly any place to walk in the aisles, without running into other folks, with very poor ambiance . I still used to visit them, until the breaking point came when the owner started complaining to me about another customer who had just left after paying with EBT/benefits card. This, without knowing anything about her circumstances - and implying that she must be a freeloader, etc, on public benefits. Then the owner started advising me who to vote for, to prevent such customers from being able to afford food. I was appalled. All things considered, a competing business set up right next door can cure all ills, and can likely succeed very well. read more

Small but well-stocked grocery store. I found it odd that a lot of items did not have price tags on them but at checkout, thought they were reasonably priced. I stopped here for a quick pickup and it was not worth it at all. Firstly I called them asking for a specific product to see if they have it so that I don't waste my time going there and returning empty handed. When I called, the store manager didn't understand what I was asking for so I ended up going to the store and luckily I found what I wanted but most of the items are overpriced compared to other indian stores and secondly the items are also very close to expiration date like the yogurt, milk etc. Surely not coming back here. read more

I usually don't care to write bad review for customer service but this was ridiculous! AVOID this store at all cost. POOR BEHAVIOR is NOT ACCEPTABLE! They don't have fixed prices or marked on items and when asked they judge people. The guy literally told my mom that you don't have enough money when she asked some prices, when they are NOT MARKED on them. Who the hell does he think of himself. This is a great little grocery; especially if you're cooking "Indian food" and need authentic staples. It's located in the plaza with the Wells Fargo bank. From the outside, it looks super tiny. Inside it still looks tiny, but there's a lot of stuff in there. It's all easy to find so get in there and stock up! read more

I came here to make a quick buy knowing that this place is known to sell some expired goods. However, I still decided to shop here because it was the only Indian store located nearby. Sexists! My husband and I have been shopping here for years, and usually go during the weekend. We stopped by after work (Monday) to buy our monthly groceries. As we entered, the man behind the register only acknowledged my husband, and ignored me. As I went to pay he said "Thank you, Sir!" I mentioned that I am not a "Sir" and he pointed to my husband and said "I was talking only to him!" We left our groceries there, and walked away. UNBELIEVABLE!!! read more

I came here to get some naan and tea. Literally every single one of the naan packets on the shelves was expired, ALL OF THEM. That is disgusting. On top of that, the cashier, old Indian guy with the turban & gray beard is pretty inconsiderate of his customers. I literally stood there waiting to checkout while he was having a payment dispute with the people stocking the shelves. On top of that, he didn't even give the right amount of change. They pretty much got everything you need to cook whatever type of north or south Indian dish you can think of! One great thing about this place is the number of pre-mixed masala and marinade packages you can choose from. They have a butter chicken mix and a tandoori bbq mix that is awesome and only $2-$4 a box! I've tried them both and the food comes out restaurant quality! Prices are very competitive and they have a large selection of bollywood movies to rent as well. I was very disappointed with this shop and their stock. The old Yelp reviews make no sense as of today. If you are an Indian, please do not take the pain to come to this place unless you have no other option. Getting into details, the store is very small. It's not surprising to learn that they are under stocked on many items viz. Chapathis, curd, bread and worse, they don't even sell eggs!! One of the bread packs was already expired and when we asked why was the case, the shopkeeper just casually remarked "oh, okay". Their veggies are not fast moving and the roots in all their gingers says that aloud. I was around Burrito factory and I came across this store to see if they tandoori mix spice, I couldnt fi d the mix, but the older gentlemen came through to help me, He was like, "you a big, you want?" He was really chill nice old guy, came up to help me find the tandoori mix, he also offered some other spices, some of them look kind of weird but when you put it while your cooking, it's hella bomb! We always come here on Saturdays to buy their samosas. Only if they aren't so shady with the green sauce!!!!
