Egg Noodle
Michelle Nam Phuong L.

This market is really only striving because of its location. The store looks like it has never been cleaned and always packed with people, We brought Egg Noodles from them and its filled with mold! This is not the first time we have brought rotten food from them. A few things to keep in mind when shopping here. 1. Always check your receipt. In the midst of the pandemic, the owner (specifically the son) overcharged us (the item was less than 10 dollars, he charged us $77). 2. Owners are extremely rude but the staff is okay. The manager here is amazing and always know how to make things right. 3. Always check your produce/items, as the review stated. They have sold us rotten packaged food more than one occasion.

Bao Bun Dough

Stopped here August 13, 2021 for some grocery shopping and was also hoping to exchange, not return but hoping to exchange an item previously purchased here on a recent grocery re-stock trip about 2 1/2 weeks ago. It's still Pandemic Time..and many people, (not All, but many people) just want to do 1 big grocery run - 1 stop shop, for personal safety, items needed at home to stock up etc. We talked to the Owner - specifically the Son, and asked him if we could exchange, not return, but exchange an item previously purchased at this store? He briefly looked at the item (Bao Bun Dough) and said in super rude snippy tone..."We don't sell this.." I politely told him, "Yes You Do..I purchased this here at your store." I walked to the back of the store with him, where the Bao Bun Dough I purchased can be found and sure enough, guess what, it's right there on the shelves. He again said in super rude snippy tone: " Yours wasn't purchased here, this isn't from our store.." I told him, "How do you know it's not from your store? You can scan this, and it will tell you it was purchased here, you know?" He completely ignored my question, deflected, responded with a wishy washy answer and said "Well, we get thousands of items delivered each day..so it's difficult to keep track.." which did not answer my question. How do you know it's not from your store? You don't! What happened to going above and beyond, providing excellent outstanding Customer Service to Customers who have been longtime customers? Oh, not here, bottom line seems much much more important than providing excellent Customer Service. We've been grocery shopping here for 15+ years and stop by at least 2x a month. They say " It's Pandemic Time, you should make it a point to support your local grocery stores &your local Small Business stores." Pff - No, not like this...We won't be supporting local Small Businesses with Owners/Managers providing horrible, super rude and snippy Customer Service to longtime Customers, like this. There's really no need for such horrible behavior towards longtime customers. Customers will take their business somewhere else. We won't be back. Just think how foolish & petty, the Owner's Son's behavior is. The Bao Bun Dough bag costs about $1.50, we would have purchased as we usually do $100+ worth of groceries..which is a lot more than just the silly Bao Bun dough bag value. His loss..for losing $100+ and not looking at the big picture

beef for tacos tomorrow and pork bone for soup, but I will be throwing it away and buy new one today at a different market.

Horrible. I hate giving 1 star but hoping this will prevent this market serving their customers rotten meat. My husband bought some baby pork rib, pork bones, and some beef. We cooked the pork rib last night but apparently, it wasn't edible. As I bit into my pork rib, it instantly has a soap smell. We are always very careful with our food because we have two little ones. The meat itself doesn't look fresh or has a good piece of meats like other meats I bought from other market. Im assuming that their meats gone bad and they don't want to waste it, instead they soak it with soap to kill the smell before selling it to customers again. I hope other customers whom bought the same batch will realize it and not eat it. I will be throwing away all the meats I brought from this market because I no longer trust this business and without trust, I can not feed my children with the meats I bought here. I will be going to another market for groceries today.

I use to live in the Seven Trees area growing up and I remember coming to this store all the time when I was a kid. Great place for cheap meats and fish, providing great and authentic home-cooked asian meals. I am pretty sure that 75% of everything I ate as a child came from this store. Everything is always cheap here just like every asian market, but this place has a lot of value to me. I still come to this market even though I live closer to the lion market. The cashiers can be a little grim, and can also spend a lot of time talking to ladies in front of you in line, but its an asian market... haha. I've seen a lot worse. This place also has great festivities and rarities. During chinese new years and tet, they always have dances and music in the parking lot. I remember I use to go as a kid to watch those dragons and plug my ears as those red fire crackers go off. I use to scavenge around finding tons of unlit fire crackers. aahhhhh memories!

WARNING!SELLING DEAD OYSTERS.I bought a big box/60 pieces of oysters and could only eat 3 out of 60. They were mostly death and smeelly.

I prefer this small supermarket compared to another one on Monterey Road and Senter Road. I'll leave that unnamed till I have time to review that other supermarket... This supermarket always has many produce in stock. I come here for the fresh vegetables and greens. There are many fresh, clean greens here and at great prices. Summer time produce and greens prices are the best, but now Fall season, some greens raised prices. Eggs are a steal here with Jumbo Dozen Eggs Grade A are 2 for $3. The eggs are huge in comparison to American supermarkets like Safeway or Lucky. Word of advice: the cashiers ladies confirm with me that the main special sale prices are Friday through Sunday. 50 lbs of rice are a few dollars less as well. Grabbing food items here whether fresh, dry, or canned are a breeze. Udon is usually 2 for $1, sometimes 3 for $1. They have good deals on banh pho and bun (which are different noodles to make Vietnamese soup). I rarely buy any meat or seafood here, but on the rare occasions I am helped promptly. Very good service in comparison to other Asian supermarkets. Oh yea, I can't forget they have Live Turtles...poor things...O_o my goodness. They just crawl around in a bin. I'll take a picture next time! And update everybody. I remember they are near the seafood in the far right back end of Senter Foods. I've been going here for years now and have always had friendly & fast service by cashiers.

This place has been a San Jose staple for years and has been my go-to main supermarket for as long as I can remember. The selection covers everything you could possibly need, from international products to everyday household essentials all under one roof, the kind of variety that makes any other grocery store feel incomplete. What keeps me coming back just as much as the products is the staff. Many of them have been there for years, always friendly, always consistent, always making you feel genuinely welcomed. That kind of familiarity and warmth is something you just cannot put a price on. You come in for groceries and leave feeling like you just visited old friends. This Food Bazaar is a true San Jose international community treasure and deserves every bit of loyalty it has earned over the years. Highly recommend making it your regular stop, you won't regret it

They have amazing selection of spices, meats, breads, produce and more. The shelves are neatly organized. I love the fresh pita bread and lavash that they sell. I found my favorite brand of grape leaves. I also found the pomegranate syrup I needed and the orange blossom water for my Basbousa. They had a nice selection of fillo dough. My favorite brand is the Apollo fillo dough. I got a few boxes of that for my Armenian Paklava. And I couldn't leave without getting some fresh bread. I talked with Eddie, the owner, for a bit. He's so kind and if there's something you can't find, he'll help you get it. It's always a pleasure shopping here. They have the best international food items and excellent customer service. I highly recommend checking it out.

Love the ample parking, prime location, and how spacious it is inside. The rewards system is essentially a 1% cash back at a 1000pt cliff -- meaning you get $10 after you spend $1000 but no redemptions before that. Being a member also doesn't get you any additional discounts vs non-members. But hey it's free so it doesn't hurt. I'll always support there being more Asian grocery stores in the West Side of the South Bay. H-Mart always had that spot for me, but now it's shared. Mega Mart's marketed as a more premium store, but it does its best when they're running sales. Price between the two are pretty neck and neck. You'll spend anywhere from $70-$200 per trip cuz the small things do add up. They used to have prepped food marked off anywhere from 30-70% off in the final and early hours of the day. Now, it's an inconsistent luck of the draw. However, I've never had an issue with food quality with anything I've purchased whether it be prepped food or raw ingredients. 4/5, solid store. Hope they continue to grow and thrive as a mainstay of the community.

Whenever I shop here, I grab mushrooms, bok choy, cabbage, sesame oil, and vegan kimchi. They have a deli area with lots of pre-cooked food, but most of it isn't vegan-friendly, so I usually skip the deli items. I've tried the veggie japchae twice, but it's been very inconsistent. The first time it was good, but the second time, the taste was off. They used to have really good seasoned vegan crispy tofu bites in the frozen section. I can't remember the brand, but I haven't seen them in a while, so maybe they didn't have enough interest to keep them in stock? The line can get pretty long sometimes, but it usually moves quickly. There's plenty of parking, but I've noticed that most customers park poorly (not within the lines), so it can be a bit tricky to find a good spot. I'd probably come here more often if they had a better vegan / plant-based selection.

After years of construction, I was excited to finally check out Lee's Supermarket in San Jose, but…read morethe experience was pretty lackluster. Honestly, it didn't feel like a newly remodeled store. It felt more like they just put up a new sign outside. They might as well have had a banner that said "under new management." Lee's is known for their great sandwiches, so I expected more of a café-style setup where you could browse a variety of sandwiches and maybe sit down to eat. Instead, there's no seating area and the menu is just a large LCD screen listing sandwich names and prices with no photos. The store itself feels cramped, with most of the space dedicated to shelves rather than any place to relax or enjoy food. I was hoping for something closer to a Whole Foods style experience where you could grab a sandwich, a drink, and maybe meet friends. Instead, it feels like a typical Asian market without much innovation. The one cool touch was that every checkout lane had fresh baked baguettes ready to go. That and my sandwich was delicious but instead of eating it right than and there I had to drive home in traffic and eat it cold. I just love eating em' freshly made and the bread right out of the oven. For sandwiches, I'll probably stick to the regular Lee's Sandwich locations nearby.

This used to be Marina, a fairly big Asian grocery store. Actually the outside still says "marina"…read morebut the receipt says Hashi and there are enough changes that tells me some slight changes have been made. This is actually my 'preferred' Asian grocery for my area...now. The produce department is significantly better/fresher than when it was Marina. Back in the Marina days, the produce were borderline sketchy, cheap yes, but if you found something, you better use/eat it within a few days, or else it may rot on you. Not here, most choices now seem fresher and sturdier. And still quite cheap, especially if there is a sale. 80% of my haul here is from this produce area to stock my kitchen for the week of a vegetable/fruit rich diet/habbit. I'm loving it! The Seafood area still seems quite the same. Marina was not bad in this department and Hashi is maintaining the choices and quality. I'll usually get something from the fresh seafood case as well. But if I want something more exotic or more premium then I'll have to go to another city like New Sang Chong in San Leandro or HMart in the south bay. The Meat section seems the same, maybe a tad cleaner in processing than when it was Marina. Things seem more cleanly cut and stacked. And the bulk meat you get by the pound behind the case are pretty darn inexpensive, especially for pork and chicken. If making a big family style dish I'll go here over Lucky's or Safeway most times. Pork Spareribs for $3/lb, boneless skinless chicken breast for $2/lb on special, and $3/lb for ground beef, ka mon brah, just can't beat those! Dry Goods the same as Marina, just maybe stocked a bit more. Marina had more holes/gaps in their shelves. So I have been coming in more since the changes cuz they have been working for me. So a positive change in the neighborhood...I gotta show my support and approval.
