Rainmaker installed our sprinkler system. The process was easy and I'm happy with how it turned out. I highly recommend using this company.

Service was good, billing extremely questionable. Setting up the appointment was somewhat easy. When Dean returned my message, he first stated he didn't work in our town it was too far. He then asked what neighborhood we lived in, and I told him. He then did a 180 and said for your neighborhood, we make exceptions. Fine. His employee showed up on time. He was able to diagnose our problem, fix 2 heads and installed a new wifi control box. I received the bill a week later. The labor charge for the installation of the wifi box and 2 heads was listed as one charge, the 2 heads listed as the second charge and finally the wifi box as the lay and final line item. I immediately noticed the cost of the box seemed elevated? I researched multiple stores on web stores and the cost of the box was 1/2 of price he was charging me. He charged us $250 for a box that retails at MSRP at $119 (most stores had them on sale for about $100). I asked Dean about why the cost was so high and he pretty much told me it costs what it costs. If you need irrigation work, get a quote ahead from them and do your due diligence. The work was great, and they showed up on time. Their billing practices are questionable. read more

Rainmaker installed my irrigation system 25 years ago, and they have done an excellent job over the years, responding immediately whenever I contacted them, which was very rarely. They have an excellent annual maintenance program so you never have to wonder if your system is going to work again after the winter. Highly recommended. read more

I hired Rainmaker after seeing a review on Next Door. The owner, Dean, was very responsive and professional. He came to my house (without contacting me), drew a proposal layout and sent a quote. He assisted with the city meter application. All was well. On the day of install, he was not present. I've never had a project of this size start without reviewing the scope of work with the owner. He didn't show up all day. His non-English speaking crew installed the entire system and put the backflow controller in the right center of the yard in my natural area. The huge green cover very visible from the street. I contacted the owner and told him I wanted it beside the house where his proposal indicated it would be located. He said that the installation was done according to city requirements. I checked with the city and there was no reason it could not be located beside the house as he proposed. He later said that he would "not make any money if he had to move the controller". I pointed out several times that he drew the installation plan and I would never approve having the controller in the front yard. I finally offered him more money to move the controller and he refused. I then offered to pay him for the work done and let him walk away and he never replied. The next day he sent a crew to remove everything from my yard. He refunded my deposit. Since it's the end of July and I need the system installed before fall seeding, this has left me in a terrible bind. I will now have to pay a premium for the installation to be done on schedule - if I can find a company and get on their calendar. I do not recommend this company. He was not honest and he made changes to an approved proposal/contract without consent and then refused to accept responsibility and correct the error. read more

Here's my experience with Rainmaker: I met with a few different irrigation contractors to have sprinklers installed in my yard. The owner was great about giving me a design that met my needs, while keeping my budget in mind. His quote was reasonable, in line with other quotes I received, and I chose Rainmaker because I liked Dean (the owner), and he is a licensed plumber. Installation came, the guys installing were polite and efficient. It took a day and a half. Both days, my back gates were left open when they left and my dog got out, but really, I've experienced a lot worse with contractors, so no big deal. A few days later, another super nice employee came over to explain the system and how it worked. Made some adjustments we asked for. So at this point, I'm thinking everything is fine, but I'm wondering why I cared if Dean was a licensed plumber since I have never seen him after getting the quote. At some point in the next 24 hours, a leak starts in the main water line connected to my house, right by the street. It's flooding the yard, and God knows what our water bill will be if we leave it on, so we turn off the water main- leaving our house with no water. Except, this happens on a Friday night. And there is no way to get in touch with Dean or anyone else. So until Monday morning, our choices are to flood the front yard and waste who knows how much water, or go without water to the house. They ended up coming by (I'm pretty sure it was on Monday, might have been Tuesday) and initially say "hmm. We didn't touch that part of your water main". Oh. I see. But you tied into the water line approximately 8 inches from where it's broken, and it broke one day after you left, and I'm supposed to think it's a coincidence? They ended up fixing it (no charge), but that definitely left a bad impression. I don't mind the mistake, I'm not unreasonable, but by Sunday afternoon I was getting enraged that there was literally no way to get in touch with anyone until normal business hours. Now that everything is fixed, I'm happy with the job that they did, but it shouldn't have been that much of a hassle. read more

I have been using Rainmaker for many years to winterize my system and then restart and make repairs if needed each Spring. I have always been extremely happy with them.
