They didnt have a lot of choice of other fabrics in there but if you havent been there before it is worth having a look what they do sell then if you needed anything you could go back there. The man serving was very friendly and helpful and chatted for a while about what I was making with the wadding.

I was mistaken, my usual fabric shop was shut so rather than a wasted journey, I went in to have a look. Half an hour later I had whittled my selection down to an arm full of jerseys several wools and a few tartans. They have a pretty big selection bearing in mind the size of the shop and the price is amazingly reasonable. Now I have no reason to buy fabric anywhere else. The staff are very helpful and will give effective advice about repairing damaged garments. I also found that when I wanted to try and make something from a paper pattern, they were able to steer me towards a simple one that didn't require to much fabric.

If you can get past the window, Fabric Land has everything you need to make your own more tasteful clothes. Spread over two floors, they have rolls and rolls of cotton, satin, chiffon, calico, denim, cord, velvet, velour, felt, gingham, hessian, lace, leather, patchwork, suede and towelling. Go there first then, if you can't find what your are looking for, go to the others. But ALWAYS go there first. You'll find that the prices are very competitive and, particularly if you are making things to sell, this can drastically affect your margins. The only thing it could do with is a better website, as it's definitely a bit 1998!
