The rainforest pyramid is a must if you're coming to Moody Gardens. I just did the one day value pass. In the pyramid, you'll start from the top then work your way to the bottom. A good variety of animals, it's not huge but you can plan to spend like 30-40 mins in here. It is accessible to those that need a wheelchair or scooter. Very kid friendly. I liked how there are birds walking around so you can get up close for a picture. A few of the animals were temporary unavailable due to cleaning.

I came to the Rainforest Pyramid on the second day of June this year with my GS troop for the first time. Moody Gardens consists of an aquarium, rainforest, and discovery pyramids, and is an educational attraction focusing on nature. My troop had the opportunity to get a private tour of the pyramid twice in one day (one in the afternoon and once at night). This allowed us to see both the nocturnal animals and non-nocturnal animals. Additionally, we spent the night in the rain forest as a troop. This pyramid offers an up-close and interactive walk among the species--both plant and animal--of the world's rainforests. This family-friendly attraction is not only entertainment but also provided the troop with educational opportunities at every turn. Aside from learning about the distinct types of animals who call the rainforest home, we learned about the pyramids rich history, the type of maintenance that is required to maintain such a place as well as what different seasons may bring at this location. In the day, birds, monkeys, sloths, etc. roam free for visitors to see up close and personal. Some reviewers have noted that such animals were not roaming free, this is not the case for private tours. During the evening, when the pyramid was closed to all visitors (including the aquarium and discovery pyramids), the guides played educational games with the troop after a pizza dinner. After the games were concluded, the troop was able to sleep at the entrance to the rainforest and be one with nature. Overall, this is a wonderful place to explore, learn, and gain knowledge to share with others. Their dedication to education through interaction is unmatched. Price for overnight starting at $1,100.00; private scout tours starting at $250.00. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience. We came to visit the Rainforest Pyramid with out family from out of state. We recently moved to Texas and wanted to do something fun for the kids and family to enjoy. Moody Gardens offers different combos to help save money on their different attractions they offer. Our family enjoyed the Rainforest Pyramid as it was enough for our infants. Unfortunately some parts of the attraction were closed off but we did enjoy our time any way. We spent about $36 bucks for 1 attraction but I expected a little more for that price. The kids enjoyed seeing the different birds just flying through the rainforest.

Such a cool experience, everyone from 4 to 65 years old loved it! It was well maintained as well, we will be back. Will point out there is no masks required and no social distancing enforced.

Pretty impressive collection of plant and wildlife. Be aware that it is a rainforest, so if you come in on a hot day, don't think your going to beat the heat as it's quite warm inside. It's cool seeing monkeys and birds moving about and the fish collection is amazing.

Just like the aquariums the rainforest was overpriced, but was very cool and child friendly. It is warm like the rainforest, I'm glad I was wearing a tank top because it was warm! Some animals are free roaming while others are enclosed in their habitats. Supposedly there was a a sloth, but we never spotted it. We did spot plenty of birds and monkeys. They had an enclosure for a Komodo dragon and an ocelot. They even had enclosures for different bats. I was very impressed with this location.

Kids 2 and under are FREE. It's not mentioned on the website. Anyway, it's really humid & warm inside even in the dead of winter so dress lightly. We went the weekend before Christmas so it was 50-60 degrees outside but we stripped out of our jackets & sweaters inside the Pyramid. We saw quite a few animals caged and out in the open. Look carefully! Monkeys are roaming about with the birds and butterflies. There are 2 levels. It'll take you at least an hour to go through it. Beautiful and interesting & informative. My toddler absolutely loved it. Strollers are allowed. There are ramps & elevators.

The rainforest is a quique place. It is a glass building in Texas so it is hot temperature wise along with being a rainforest environment. There are air vents on the top walk way to help provide air flow for visitors. The animals are free roaming for the most part which is awesome. I saw a couple of monkies, butterflies, birds, and fish. But we could not find the sloths. There were 2 sloths in there but we couldn't locate rhem and 0 staff had seen them that day.

Awesome experience for family-friendly fun! While provided education over the species within the pyramid!

It's definitely a great place for some inside entertainment. We got combo tickets for the aquarium and rainforest. All of the animals at the aquarium were very active and there were plenty of viewing spots. The rainforest was fun but didn't have as much to see as the aquarium and you could get through it within 30 minutes. I recommend going as soon as they open because there will be less people. If you plan to only do one of the attractions, then go with the aquarium. However, if you want to do more than one attraction, then I would just get the full pass instead of combo tickets.

Labor day weekend was my first time visiting the Moody Gardens attractions. The rainforest pyramid was actually pretty cool, they had a lot of exotic little creatures and we got see a little monkey as well. Definitely isn't a traditional zoo but they had a variety of animals and plants to show. I was kind of looking forward to the otters but they weren't out on my visit. This is though, a wonderful family activity and would love to come back in the future!

Bring your children to visit the animals that are located in the back. Fresh goat cheese? They got it along with Goat yogurt, flower bouquets, fresh eggs, and all the goodies you can find at a farmers market. The owner is John, and we came across this place while taking a drive. My husband loves callalou (spinach like green popular in Jamaica) and he spotted it in the farm, came over and John greeted him very kindly. Although it was closed John invited my husband in to look around. So the next time you are in Galveston pay them a visit. You'll be glad you did.

Built in 1847,…read moreit was the residence of one of Galveston's early mayors, John Seabrook Sydnor, who also grew up here. It was Sydnor's middle name of Seabrook for which the little town just north of Galveston on the edge of Galveston Bay was named. It is remarkable for the fact that it is in very good shape, and for the fact that it survived to 1900 Storm and several others since! It is located at 3427 Avenue O. It is very impressive to view and is surrounded by shrubs on the front facing avenue O and on the side facing 35th street. It is the current location for the Galveston Garden Club. With that being said, I would think that as a garden club they would keep those hedges a little more manicured! There is a Texas Historical marker located on the 35th street side and it is kind of hard to see, or photograph as the hedges are a little high and somewhat obscure the view. There are times when the Galveston Historical Society do tots of the islands historical homes and sometimes this one is included. It is usually the first two weekends of the month of May. It's a good way to learn about a lot of Galveston's past history, and there is a lot to learn as there are quite a few historic old homes left in Galveston with seeing and learning about!

After seeing the post on Instagram and Facebook I knew I could go there and man, was I excited! A lot of people (locals) do NOT know this either... FYI marketing social person. I went this afternoon and fell in love with the place. It's on the feeder of 45 coming into Galveston and has everything you need. It's small but mighty. And, it has such personal touches like you would at your own home; it's just soo zen. I met David and Dianna Estraca (owners who opened in 2002) and I was immediately impressed with their friendliness and customer service. They were literally hands on in their plants...and in the office, etc Diana was gardening and her husband David had just returned with supplies. All of this I saw first hand and it gave me a sense of pride for them. They appreciate everything they have and the people who patronize their business. I met Jared (horticulturalist) who is friendly, knowledgeable (and, so cute!) Ha! I did miss meeting their fun social guru, media person, Karla...because of her social media posts ...I found out the public can shop here just not wholesalers, etc A lot of lay people as myself didn't know the public can shop here...FYI I fell in love with this nursery and their people... friendly gets me each and every time. I've been a fixture at Tom's Thumb all this time (owner, Peggy Cornelius -no relation to new owners) retired this year and the small town (local feel) is gone. Still a beautiful nursery that I won't turn my back on just yet...but, Earth creations you are my new zen spot. I sat in the rainbow swing today and watched the traffic go by. Then I bought (another...I've had many!) rosemary herb and a hardy angelonia plant. As I was leaving Jared offered me a free bucket (planter) I needed and a chive plant that he hopes I can revive!
