I paid James M Franklin a deposit of $7000 to do a kitchen remodel in my home. His company name is "Walk By Faith Roofing and Remodeling". I gave him the check on June 18th and he has not done anything on my kitchen. James keeps giving me excuses week after week and has been stringing me along. I told him that I no longer trust him or his word and that I want my money back and he has not returned my money. James hounded me and pressured me to sign the contract and give him the deposit. However, after he got my money, he went radio silent. I had to constantly reach out to him for updates and requests for improvement in his communication updates and he never did. I only went with him because he said he had multiple crews so the work would not depend on one person but I never saw or talked to anyone other than him and work was never started on my kitchen remodel. He has stolen my $7000. I have a text string that shows him poor communication and broken word time and time again.

I told him he didn't have a problem when I paid him 10k to do my roof. Roof is still leaking I called James again and he said he would be there on Mon. No call no show. I left a message and James sent a text saying he would call me. Now it is Tue 3pm still no call. James talks a good game but he is not a man of his word. Funny thing when I was in Ace in Adams I ran into a guy that worked there and had the same problem with James. JUST BEWARE HE TALKS A GOOD GAME. But not a man of his word.

He responded to my call immediately, drove to my Sister Bay house the same day, and gave me a quote. He gave me ideas and color choices that were perfect for my home, always promptly responding to texts or calls. Craig honored his original quote even though the cost of his materials increased unexpectedly and significantly. He is an honest and very knowledgeable professional, which is hard to find. His crew is very hardworking and highly competent. Craig is just a nice guy and easy to work with, and I cannot recommend this company enough. The results are far beyond my expectations. What a JOKE this outfit is!! From the very start, they send a guy for an estimate, and I get…read moreoffered 3 options to replace the covering of the walkout porch on my upstairs apartment, and I never get a copy of the estimate. That's just for starters. They don't come, and they don't come and they don't come. I'm calling and calling to see when they're coming and finally, when someone does show up, it's NOT Brincks Exteriors; it's Larry, Moe and Curley Joe from some slipshod roofing company they've sublet my job to; without ever telling me. They took an iron railing down to start (without marking the sequence they had to be put back up), and a separate company had to be brought in to do that job, and finally did that at the end of this whole scenario, about 2 months from the start. The estimate I paid for was supposed to replace all the plywood on the 14' x 18' surface, and they only replaced about 5 or 6 sheets, if that. During the whole comedy routine, they poked a hole through the sheetrock down into my bedroom, which is below this porch. L, M & CJ Roofing offered to fix it, free of charge, but at this point, after all the hassle, I just wanted the job finished and them off my property. They used a very thin rubber roofing product (.002 or something like that) for a surface that is used for porch furniture and foot traffic, when it should've been a thicker, more suitable surface in order to last. These guys are general contractors; they didn't come and do any of the work - had I known how that was going to go, I never would've hired them!! Beware!
