They said they would be here between 8:00 and 10:00 and at 8:00 the doorbell rang. They had the new hot water heater installed, removed the old one and the area cleaner than when they arrived all before 10:30. Curtis walked me through the settings and operations as the old heater was from 20 years ago, and lots has changed over the years. He explained all the features and answered all my questions. Come to my home to resolve an ongoing problem with my basement drain. After listening to the description of the problem, Kent asked a couple of questions to clarify the issue. I didn't think I would find anyone who would take a plumbing job on a Sunday, but I started making calls around 8:00 a.m. anyway. Johnson SDC was the only company to take a call. Kent said that he said he would be here in about ninety minutes. In fact he arrived a little bit early. He looked at the problem and figured out what was happening: it was ground water trapped by ice that made it flow against gravity up through the drain and into the basement . He did a great job of explaining it to us. He pumped the basement out completely and helped us come up with a game plan for a permanent solution. His bill was reasonable and he gave us a cash payment discount. Very happy with his service, would definitely recommend!

We needed our fireplace inspected and our ash pit cleaned. Kevin Laughlin, the owner of this firm,…read morearrived at our house at the scheduled time/date and promptly got to work. He took off his snowy boots to come in for a preliminary look and to explain what he would be doing and how. Since it was in the single digits outdoors and our chimney is 2-1/2 stories tall, he decided to do the chimney cleaning from inside, rather than climning up. He laid canvas tarps on the floor, from the door to the fireplace hearth. His work was efficient and there was no dust from the operation. Next he went into the crawlspace and emptied the ash pit. When he was finished, he pointed out that our fireplace was code-compliant, insofar as it's design and gave us a checklist. We were very pleased with Kevin's work and professionalism. We recommend him highly and without reservation. Cost: $185 (February, 2015) for cleaning. $50 for removing two large bags of ashes.
