What a fun place to experience slime. Giant containers of slime of all consistency to play with. Lots of squishy fun upstairs too where you can build your own slime to take home. Have you ever wanted to walk through slime...you can have this chance in the river of slime. Be a basketball star and shoot baskets with a ball of slime.

One of the many slime types you can try.

A fun addition to Union Station is Rainbow Slime Co. This place has two levels filled with slime fun! Downstairs, there are several different slime types for you to try. You can also, step into the Squish Zone (a slime pit for your feet) or shoot some slime hoops in the Goop Hoop area. Upstairs, you'll find two slime bars where you can get creative and customize your own slime with colors, scents, and a variety of mixins. The slime bar is an additional cost, but worth it. Upstairs, there are also two party rooms. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Such a cute spot.

Rainbow slime was so much fun for our group! I highly recommend visiting and making some fun slimes of your own! I think my favorite things were the slime river or the slime basketball!

Butter slime with teal color and cotton candy scent!!

I cannot believe I just paid $12 per person to play with 7 puddles of slime. Kids got bored in 10 minutes. Leaving with stained hands

The one my parents installed in their backyard in the 90s lasted three kids and over 20 years with regular maintenance. When it came time for us to look into a swingset for our daughters as tempted as I was by the kidcraft DIY ones at Costco, we ended up going with Rainbow simply because the kidcraft wooden playhouse in our backyard has been up for maybe three years and LOOKS it. We were a bit worried about how something we DIY might hold up so we figured we'd pay a bit more and go this route. First of all these things are expensive. There is no way around that. The website always says things are heavily discounted, like it never changes cost and is always on sale, so I think it's just the way they try to get you to pull the trigger - like OH it's not actually 7grand, it's ONLY 2 grand. I'd prefer they just be a bit more transparent on that, but I appreciate that it could be more. Once we were sold on the unit we wanted we decided to make the trek out to Olathe to see it in person and make sure we knew what we were doing. It was April, and honestly we were wanting to move quickly so we could have one installed early in the summer season. There is conflicting information on when they are open online - in some places it says they have hours on Sundays and on others it says they are closed. We couldn't figure out what the case was so we went there and they were closed to the public. The door was open and we thought oh, maybe we could just speak with a sales person but nobody was around so we just went home and ordered the one we wanted online. Now, their website is a bit dated but it worked okay. It was a little scary placing an order this big in this way, but we had no other time to get out to Olathe in the near future and decided it was worth it. Again, IRL would have been better because I would have asked about small add ons like a pirate telescope and baby swing, neither of which you can just add on via their website. At any rate, we made the purchase and a rep from their team was in contact with me by Monday morning which really impressed me! She told me the timeframe we'd be looking at and what to expect next. As the timeframe of 3-5 week delivery creeped into the three week mark I emailed asking about next steps and didn't hear back for several days. The following week I emailed again, and again no response so I called. Calling prompted an email and we got it scheduled and ultimately installed pretty quickly at that point. The installer was SO NICE and so fast. It was insanely impressive how they get these things up quickly. The main thing here is that these are impressive, well made, playsets. The folks working here are very kind, and thoughtful. Sometimes things just move slower than you might want, or you might have to reach out to get questions answered. Would I recommend Rainbow? For sure! Could they turn this into a 5 star experience with a few small tweaks? Absolutely. If you're not me though, learn from me, and go on a Saturday, talk to the sales people and I'm sure you'll have a smoother experience.

I'd advise taking care with fish- they use RO water, so drip acclimation will be necessary if you're on KC tap water. The Pygmy's cories I got from them were healthy, but they needed a slow acclimation to be put into my quarantine. They're now in the display. They're knowledgeable about their fish and plants (I'd assume salt water as well, but I don't have a saltwater tank, so I can't say one way or the other). The plants I've purchased from them have been great, except for one buce brownie tissue culture that melted and hasn't come back, but apparently my tank doesn't like buce, because I've tired multiple times, and buce melts and never come back, so I don't fault them for that. Their plants are nearly always in good shape and happy. I did buy some downoi that was super leggy, and so I trimmed it to use only the best of it. It's there, in the tank, and I'm watching to see what it does. But the tissue culture of the downoi I got from them really took off, and is propagating just fine. Their cost is in line with online sellers when you factor in shipping. I'll continue to use them. I've been pleased with the knowledge of the employees and their locality.

First thing's first, if you are just wanting to visit the Aquarium you'll still need a ticket to the Zoo, as the Aquarium is just a part of the larger Zoo experience. I love this too, FWIW. This Aquarium, while top of the line, is not really intended to be a stand alone attraction, and in my opinion is not really large enough to merit a full day. It's plenty big and impressive though, if you are working it into your KC Zoo trip. What's great about this aquarium is that for the size and price you get to see sharks, sea otters, eels, jellyfish, and more! To a small kid it will feel massive, and even to an adult there is plenty to charm and awe. I love that during the heat of summer or the chill of winter there is a nice sized space to get relief from the elements, and there's always plenty of staff inside to answer questions. It should also be noted that hands down this is the best aquarium in KC. It blows SeaLife out of the water and is a much better value - in short, just support local and go here if you are on the hunt for an aquarium. All in all, this is a good Aquarium for our fair city.
