She loves that she has freedom to express and create... with some guidance and feedback but also enough room for her work to be HER work vs a cookie cutter composition that looks exactly like some other artist. She gets to see and play with art the way she wants to, AND I love bringing pieces home and hanging them on the wall. (Talk about a self-esteem booster for her!) I love that Cara and her team bring real art concepts to the kids in a way that they understand and relate to. Another charitable group gathered there to introduce mothers and daughters to options for places they can volunteer over the next six years to fulfill their goals. While I waited for my turn to speak, I checked out the large main room, filled with bright, colorful art projects. Mostly paintings were featured, since they're easy to hang. Still, I could see that other types of art mediums are taught. My understanding is that this is a popular destination for kids' birthday parties, though I could see it as a gal pals' get-together spot, too. I hadn't heard of them before being given the address to come for the event. I was really impressed with finding such a fun, inspiring resource in the community for artists of all ages to release their creative juices.
