My daughter has been taking classes at The Arterie since the beginning of the school year. I can't…read moretell you how much she loves it! She loves going in, getting her things together and starting to make something. She loves that she has freedom to express and create... with some guidance and feedback but also enough room for her work to be HER work vs a cookie cutter composition that looks exactly like some other artist. She gets to see and play with art the way she wants to, AND I love bringing pieces home and hanging them on the wall. (Talk about a self-esteem booster for her!) I love that Cara and her team bring real art concepts to the kids in a way that they understand and relate to. I highly recommend The Arterie to anyone who is looking to support their child's artistic expression. It's sooooo important... And as an artist myself, I just love creating a love for arts with kids without judgement or assessment.

My husband and I attended a private class where Esther guided us through making three bowls each from scratch. She patiently explained the process and worked closely with each of us to mold ours. The location is in a quiet neighborhood in Thousand Oaks and love that they have clearly marked parking in front. From the moment I walked in, I felt both completely welcomed and quietly inspired. The space is beautiful and unpretentious, and the energy is something special, grounded, artistic, and full of heart. Esther and her husband (the dream team behind it all) are such gems. Down-to-earth, kind, and truly invested in making sure everyone learns and creates something meaningful. The class was hands-on in the best way. I got to really do the work, but with expert, patient guidance. I learned more than I ever expected to and left each session feeling so deeply revived. I actually looked forward to every class like it was a treat, and I almost cried when it ended. That's how impactful and soul-nourishing it was. I'll absolutely be signing up again. Also... bonus: Esther makes the most delicious homemade pizza. Warm, real, nourishing -- just like the entire experience. Run, don't walk. This place is a treasure. -- Tanya xo

Another charitable group gathered there to introduce mothers and daughters to options for places they can volunteer over the next six years to fulfill their goals. While I waited for my turn to speak, I checked out the large main room, filled with bright, colorful art projects. Mostly paintings were featured, since they're easy to hang. Still, I could see that other types of art mediums are taught. My understanding is that this is a popular destination for kids' birthday parties, though I could see it as a gal pals' get-together spot, too. I hadn't heard of them before being given the address to come for the event. I was really impressed with finding such a fun, inspiring resource in the community for artists of all ages to release their creative juices.
