Just called to talk to Herron Rowland and was told by Brenda he in back not taking calls she took my number and I advise he call within hour First number I was given is disconnected but store wasn't So unprofessional I finally got the phone call over two hours later and all I can do is yell at me and tell me he didn't wanna service he felt because he had his business for 52 years that he could train his team how they wanted and did not feel his team needed any retraining on how they handle customers. HORRID!!!!!!!!!! Rainbow Cleaners completely DESTROYED a vintage dress that I was going to wear for our daughter's wedding!!! The dress belonged to my husband's maternal Grandmother!!! Priceless! I had been going to fittings for 4 months! After the final fitting, I was told to take it to Rainbow Cleaners to have the hem spot-cleaned and to have it steamed. These were the instructions they were given when the dress was dropped off at Rainbow Cleaners!!! They were also told that the dress in an heirloom and irreplaceable!!! When I picked up the dress late Wednesday afternoon, before the wedding on Saturday. The dress literally was in shreds and every bead was loose or missing!!! It could not have looked any worse if it had been thrown in a commercial washer and then run over by a truck!!! I have the pictures!!!! I spent nearly $500 in alternations and then they had the audacity to charge me for the CLEANING!!!! :0 Thursday morning and I have no mother-of-the bride dress and a family heirloom was destroyed! Mr. Rowland was called and sent the pictures!!! I wound up, in desperation, having to buy a $1900 dress, at the last minute!!!! The wedding was June 3rd at the Isom Place and was lovely. I've been getting my dry cleaning with Rainbow cleaners since they were at their old location, but when you live in a town like Oxford, there aren't too many places to choose from. This visit, I got 4 regular sweaters and 1 cashmere sweater dry cleaned (~$29 total). Though the prices aren't super high, it is higher than bigger cities for sure. (Every time I've had things dry cleaned here, I could never figure out the prices since their prices are not listed online...) Staff is pleasant and efficient for the most part. Drive up service is convenient, and they're early open (7:30 AM) makes it easy for busy people like myself. I know that there have been a number of people that say that their clothes come back still dirty, and I cannot say that i disagree. Ive gotten things back that look like that haven't been cleaned yet, and I've also gotten things back where studs or other embellishments were loosened. Apparently, they have a disclaimer that should be stated to you when you drop stuff off with things that may potentially be loosened. HOWEVER... I've also gotten things back that look fantastic! (Especially in cases when i point out stubborn stains to them) Overall, I will be back. May be out of choice, or out of necessity (due to lack of options)... But will be back nonetheless. read more

I brought in my white comforter to get deep cleaned since there were mud spots where my dog jumped on my bed all muddy and after being charged $50, I got home and opened it up to realize they didn't do anything to it at all. There was still the mud spots (they weren't even faded I seriously don't even think they bothered with them) and there was still a bunch of dog hair on it (which would've come out in 1 wash so I know they didn't do anything to it). Definitely recommend... I rarely get anything dry cleaned, but once I had a job interview, and I realized a few days before that my blouse I wanted to wear looked dirty and had a small stain that isn't easily seen unless you point it out. When I took it to the dry cleaners, I neglected to point out the certain areas that needed cleaning. Two days later when my blouse was ready, it looked pristine. The small stain was gone and the blouse looked good as new! Whoever does the cleaning has a great eye for detail. I have since taken my formal dresses to Rainbow and they have done an amazing job on them as well. Not only do they do a great job, but they also have a drive through pick up, so that you don't have to walk inside. This place is crazy we got told it was $1.30 a pound when walked in and the lady told us a $1.50 then it got changed to$1.86 like really then when talking to the manager he said if you need to run to the bank like really that's not how you keep people and on top of that they charged me $8 for same day and got told it wouldn't be ready till Monday. when I dropped it off Friday and picked it on the Monday. Useless. Took several shirts to get dry cleaned, mentioned one having stains and reached out to grab the shirt with the stains so I can point it out, but the lady snatched all the clothes and walked off and said "we'll try. that's all I can tell you". Why wouldn't you want me to point out the shirt with the stains? unless of course she didn't clean it..... obviously got the shirt back with the same stains and the stains were not removed. Also, the iron press is worthless. You are suppose to put the shirts on the press evenly or else it won't press it evenly. They just throw your shirt on the press, button up only the top button and press it. If you aren't going to take the few seconds to put the clothes on the press evenly so it irons it evenly, it's better not to even press it! I rather have an unpressed shirt than crooked pressed, now it going to take even more time for me to fix it. Another one of these businesses in oxford that are in business because they are the only one and can do any thing they want. Although I heard of a new cleaner opening in town, I'll have to try that, hopefully it works or I'll just stick to cleaning back home between breaks. At their old location, I brought a dress I needed to get dry cleaned. I went to pick it up after waiting three weeks. Three weeks! It was a cocktail-length dress, nothing special...other than, unfortunately, it needed to be dry cleaned. I handed them my ticket and told the woman at the counter "It's a white dress." She brings me a black dress that hasn't even gone back yet. Two more tries, and finally I get my dress. Never again, I think. Wellll, I see the new location and think, this is very convenient. Maybe that lady was new, or having a bad day. It happens right? Nah. I took a pair of pants for work in. Dropped them off on a Monday. Got them back two Mondays later, and they looked horrible. Rainbow, I get that you have a monopoly on the dry cleaning market but I would get my clothes back faster (and in better shape too) if I drove to Memphis. read more

They do a decent job, and the drive-thru is convenient. Their turnaround time, though -- even on shirts alone -- is slow, at least compared to cleaners in other cities (the norm outside Oxford is 8 hours, rather than 2-3 days). Also, prices are sky high (like a rainbow). Most annoying is that they keep bankers' hours, instead of being open when people need them after work and on weekends. So my appearances are rare (also like rainbows). They need some real competition on West Jackson. read more

The second piece was a beautiful (and expensive) strapless dress, which the employees put two clothespins through to hang it, even though there were hanging straps on the dress.... now this dress has holes in it. Too bad you can't give negative stars! Worst cleaners I've ever used. I work in Oxford and live an hour away. I had an event to attend on a Saturday night, and wanted to have my winter white coat cleaned in order to wear it to the event. I dropped it off Tuesday morning, and explained that I needed it done by 4:00 Friday (when I leave work). I was told it would most definitely be ready early Friday. I called Friday morning, at first they couldn't find my coat, they put me on hold and then I was told they were starting on it, and that it would be ready by 2:00 PM. At 2:30 I called and was told they had not started the cleaning process, and that it would not be ready until around 5:30. I explained that I had dropped it off Tuesday morning to give them plenty of time for it to be completed by 4:00 Friday. The manager's response-"We've been backed up. It's a dry clean only piece, but we can put it in the washing machine and have it ready by 4:00." Ummmm no. I called other cleaners but at this late in the game there was no way anyone else could have it done in time. Good thing I had a back up. This was my first time and last time using Rainbow Cleaners. *****update****** Not long after this review posted the owner called to discuss, but I missed the call. I returned his call. He informed me that I had posted "erroneous information" and asked that I change my review. I informed him I posted exactly what had been relayed to me. He told me that the person I spoke with had only been employed 10 days and never would have said he was a manager, yet when I asked the person if he was the supervisor he said yes. The owner kept insisting that he had not said that. He also informed me that my coat had actually been cleaned twice, and that the employees went above and beyond to get out a stain. They weren't successful and a wet wash would do it, and that is what the new employee was trying to say. Again it was not what was communicated to me. The owner was very hostile, and even said that if I didn't correct the situation he would put the factual basis up himself. I got to the point where I told him that I didn't like being called a liar, and he insisted he wasn't calling me a liar, but that my information wasn't correct. He wanted me to meet the employee I had spoken with so that I could see he was a great young man (I'm very sure he is-he was nice on the phone). I told him that I appreciated the effort on the employees side, and that I agreed that it was a miscommunication and that I would indeed change the review- which is what I'm doing. A friend and coworker had to run an errand so she went to get my coat while she was out. Both the owner and employee came out to meet her. She said that he told her they cleaned the coat twice and that it was filthy and had a hideous stain and in bad shape when I brought it in- not true- I had worn it Monday. Monday night my daughter spilled soda on it, which is why I took it to them Tuesday morning. The charge for cleaning was $15. She brought me the coat, and said "They didn't clean your coat. Your hair is still on it, and it still smells like your perfume. I've had things cleaned there before and your coat would smell like the cleaning stuff" My final review...... wish I could give negative stars...... the owner was abrasive and treated me, the customer, as if I relayed the misinformation instead of his employee, and the coat looks like it hasn't been cleaned. read more

Two years ago Rainbow lost a shirt and they would not cover the cost. I quit doing business with them until this Holiday season. They lost a shirt again. Got 4 weeks of run around before finding out that the manager said that they gave the shirt back and would not cover cost. At least you can get quick service if you pay an extra fee. Very poor customer service. The first time I came here I brought 2 sweaters in. I got lipstick on one, which they cleaned, but they didn't even touch the other sweater that had a couple spots on it. The second time I came here, I brought in a dress that had makeup on the neck and they gave it back to me the same way and charged me $30, and tried to tell me the makeup was just a stain and nothing could be done about it. I took the dress home over break and my local dry cleaner cleaned it right in front of me which took about a minute. Avoid this place if possible. read more
