I live in Calgary, and have a selection of about 4 movie theatres within 15-20 minutes of my house. So driving to the opposite end of the city to see a newly-released movie is unheard of for me. Growing up in south end of Regina, I had the choice of the Rainbow or Southland theatres. Both are still there, but the Cineplex does not always show all of the newest flicks as it did when I was a teen and it was THEE place to go for Cheap Tuesdays in the summer. Which is ridiculous considering the population growth around Harbour Landing and in the East (I feel sorry for you Eastenders having to drive all the way to the NW!). Regardless, my mom and I wanted to see a chick-flick, so we bought tickets online, with several warnings from my mother that we had to be EARLY! We could not just show up when the movie is starting or we would be stuck in the front row. Mom didn't lie. After navigating their nightmare parking lot, we walked into the Galaxy and into utter chaos. Line-ups everywhere - thankfully the lines at the concessions moved quickly. And we were so early that we got decent seats. The theatre is a good theatre - so I'm not giving them a poor rating as it's not their fault that Regina lacks entertainment facilities. But you think any business person with half a brain would open another theatre in the city to take some of the load off this location???

The staff did a great job with the crowd. The new ticket system simplified the process. There were all kinds staff in costume for photo ops and handing out prints. The entire evening was fun. I can't remember the last time I saw a crowd applaud at the end of a movie.

The supper, performances and speeches were on the main theatre stage. The Indian food prepared by Leo Pantel and his staff was fantastic. The performers and speakers were very good. The facility, food, performers and speakers combined for a wonderful evening.

The centre is quite small compared to some of the other science centres (Toronto, Seattle) so you can easily do it in an afternoon.

It is a most hands on science center I have been to. My favorite thing here is the human bubble. I love that you can stand inside a bubble you make and not get wet. I also love that they have animals that you can play with if a trainer has them out at the time. Ever since I was a kid my family has loved this place. Every time we go to Regina we come here. We also always catch an IMAX show when we visit.
