I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this daycare. My son, who is in the 2-3 year old program, is one of only two Black children in the class, and I feel his behavior is unfairly labeled as "hyperactive" simply because he doesn't conform to the expectations set by the other children, mostly Asian kids. It's disheartening to see how his behavior is constantly viewed negatively due to racial bias.
Additionally, there have been several incidents in the classroom that were not properly addressed. My son came home one day and told me he was bitten by another child. When I reached out to the teachers, Ms. Colleen and the director, Ms. Diana, I received conflicting responses. Initially, I was told the incident wasn't seen, but later, Ms. Colleen admitted to witnessing it but never checked on my son to see if he was hurt. To make matters worse, I found out that they don't keep records of such incidents, so parents are only made aware if the child speaks up about it.
Ms. Colleen, the teacher, is not certified and has little experience working with young children. It's clear she struggles to manage the class, and my son, who is energetic and curious, seems to be singled out for behavior that should be considered normal for his age.
While I don't believe the director has made any direct racist comments, the overall treatment and lack of proper care for my son, along with the lack of incident documentation, is concerning. There are many more issues I have, but these are the most troubling. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone looking for a safe and supportive environment for their child. read more
