This is a mediocre school that refused to return our security deposit. Stay far away.

TPD will forever be our favorite memory of Forest Hills and New York! Our two children were there…read morefrom mid-2020 to mid-2022 and we left only because we moved out of the state. We first found this gem because COVID restrictions shut down our previous daycare and forced us to find a new care option, but in hindsight, it was such a blessing in disguise and a transformative experience! The owner and teachers were so loving and caring - they prepared freshly-cooked meals from scratch everyday, ensured our young children propelyr rest after lunch and avoid being over-stimulated and going home cranky and difficult for the parents. Though not a Montessori school, they used many similar techniques and spirits. For example, they emphasized learning through five senses, taught practical life skills (like dressing oneself) and emotional regulation along with academic knowledge, involved children in hands-on real-life projects such as making their own snacks (with ingredients prepared and process guided by the teachers like squeezing orange juice), encouraged older children to help younger children, encouraged self-expression through weekly talent shows, and fostered a community among the families by facilitating weekend playdates. The experience was entirely different from the traditional programming in a chain daycare center. As a result, one of our children transformed from a timid child to an outgoing one, and we were embraced into a strong community with long-lasting connections.

We will always be Toadies at heart, and can't wait for our daughter to become a Tadpole too!

She's had wonderful teachers and staff, and the community of parents is truly unmatched. When I first toured daycares, I wasn't happy with our options -- but after just one visit and conversation with Ms. Julia, I knew this was the right place. She runs a tight ship: practical, reasonable, and always communicative with prompt responses. I also love that she knows every child by name across both locations, which says so much about the care she puts in. They offer so many specials soccer, dance, Spanish, and include the parents in special events. It's a really wonderful community. Even though we didn't get a spot for pre-K, Ms. Julia still offered us an aftercare spot and went out of her way to help find accommodations to get our daughter there from her new school. She also saved us a spot for summer camp next year, which we're so grateful for -- it means our daughter will still get extra time with her friends from the past two years. Babysteps is truly the perfect place to trust with your little one.

There are dance classes, zumba, sign language classes, Magic shows, petting zoo and more. Teachers are very warm and always looking out for the best interest of their "friends". Also their spacious private playground provides lots of fun. LOVE Baby Steps

The care they provide the children in unmatched. I travel over a bridge each day to drop my little ones because I haven't found other places with equitable services. The communication is great. We use a Pro Care App and the teachers check in throughout the day. My 6 y.o. loves the summer camp and looks forward to going each day. 4 of the 5 days the children are out of the building, and they go swimming each week! The extra meal service is helpful so I don't have to worry about prep. The program provides trip shirts, so aside from her shorts I don't have to worry about wardrobe headaches. My daughter loved making new friends in camp. Last year we attempted another camp for a few weeks that was closer to home and quickly switched back because she hated it. For my youngest who is now 2, he too participated in the summer program. What I liked about his program is they have an awesome backyard and have outside water time daily (weather permitting). They also get to have inside gym time to keep their bodies active and moving. His bookbag was always full of activities he completed in school and my pro care communication app, always up to date showing me the fun activities he was engaging in. The best part for me, since I am always running is I could communicate with the staff when I was in transit so they could being to prep him for departure at the end of the day. As far as the cost, it's worth it and comparable to other programs that have infants and toddlers. The program we attempted in 2023 with my middle child was a bit more expensive, and just didn't work out for us. We will be back next year!

The staff are highly educated and knowledgeable, and it is clear that they are passionate about their work. Dear Mr. Friedman & Ms. Dina, I hope you are well at the end of this most unusual school year. As an educator who transitioned all four of my college courses to remote learning mid-semester, I know firsthand how challenging and time-consuming it has been. Nevertheless, Beth Jacob responded with its trademark thoughtfulness, diligence and care, and I wanted to thank you all for the wonderful job you have done. In fact, over the past four years, both my children found in Beth Jacob the ideal first step to embark on their educational journeys. More specifically, I'd like to thank Ms. Stacey and Ms. Olga for their incredible work this year. Ms. Stacey, by every measure, is a first-rate educator who brought to each class (both in-person and online) a winning combination of structure and sweetness. After classes went remote, I had the rare pleasure of observing Ms. Stacey's teaching on a daily basis, and always walked away impressed by her patience, preparedness and care. It is no easy feat to keep four and five-year-old children seated at a laptop, let alone learning! It should be noted that Ms. Olga was exceptional as well. She not only brought her great artistic gifts and a bilingual element to the class, but exuded a warmth and generosity which, along with Ms. Stacey, established the classroom community as a place of safety and kindness for all. While it breaks my heart that my son's Pre-K year was modified due to the Coronavirus pandemic, my wife and I can't be anything but grateful for the time our children spent in your care. Sincerely, Jared Harel-
