Beau is a 6-year-old husky. He is incredibly smart, incredibly stubborn but also more on the…read morenervous/cautious side. I jokingly compare him to a cat. He's has never been one to be overtly affectionate. It's Beau's world and my husband and I are just living in it. My husband and I discussed many different routes and decided that with Beau's age, breed, and our schedules it would be best if we sent him to someone who would be able to give him the focus and attention, he needed to kick start in his training. Recall was really our number one goal for him. Spending 45 minutes on any given day to try and coax him back into the house, as you can imagine, gets old quick. If he doesn't wanna, he's not gonna. Enter Lynsey. Her love for dogs is obvious, just like her skills in training. Since Day 1, well before his stay, she was there providing guidance on how we could be better leaders/parents for our Fur Baby and this new lifestyle. Fun Fact: you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! It's been a week since we got our sweet boy back and we couldn't be happier! Beau is thriving with the new structure and overall seems to be a happier dog. He even seeks out love and cuddles from us now! We know that Beaus training isn't over. This is something that we will have to work on with him to make sure he's held accountable for his actions but it's nice to know that Lynsey will be there to help us/him along when/if we need her. Thank you will never be enough for the confidence she helped Beau gain not to mention the confidence she gave US to continue his training. I tried to…read moreteach myself how to groom my dog so I wouldn't have to pick up an unrecognizable dog again, but I discovered I was allergic to dog hair. We recently relocated to St Simons Island, so I decided to give Puppy Paradise a try after reading rave reviews. Let me tell you, I had extremely low hopes; I expected to be given another unrecognizable pup, but I was desperate because my fur-baby was in critical need of a grooming. Due to my worry, he had gone without one for the longest time. Olivia, our groomer, did a great job!! I showed her photos of how I wanted our buddy to look, and she replicated them perfectly. What a pleasant change! Finally, someone who knows how to groom a dog to your exact specifications! I consider myself extremely fortunate that the first groomer I tried in St Simons was the perfect fit for us. We'll definitely return, and Olivia at Puppy Paradise is highly recommended. Before dropping him off, our vet prescribed medication for a skin infection and we provided clear instructions for them to administer it. Unfortunately, they failed to do so. When we took our dog back to the vet after his stay, she confirmed that he had not received the medication, which meant he suffered unnecessarily while in their care. They also told us we'd be able to see pictures of him playing on their Facebook page during his stay. However, we only saw one photo of him, while other dogs were posted frequently. When we picked him up, we were shocked to find the bill was $185 more than we were told to expect. One of the extra charges was for a bath, which we had explicitly declined at check-in. Overall, we cannot recommend Puppy Paradise based on our experience. For the health and comfort of your pet--and your own peace of mind--we suggest looking elsewhere.

She taught me how to continue his training while teaching me the psychology of canines and how to get the results I was looking for. She is also willing to answer my continuing questions as they arise and give me advice when I need it. We purchased a Georgia Bulldogs collar for our Boston here and are very satisfied with it. The staff working here are super friendly and helpful. Every time we visit the Island we stop into the Island Dog for our pet's pampered needs.

They do a great job of making sure the dog parents know what the exercises are and give tips on how to help coax the dog along when they are just learning things. Amazing patience and upbeat attitudes and every dog we have done group classes with love the instructors. What I also appreciate is Tracie does a great job of listening to what you want to accomplish with your dog and helping you get in the right classes - without trying to oversell anything. I wouldn't say the staff is well knowledges but they do know where items are and how they are intended to be used ( just lacking that "life" experience). The manager is awesome and always makes you feel welcome. I have had our dog groomed there a few times and it was a well done job ( a bit price but well done). All and all for a box store pet store it is a good experience! The staff can get you to the item you are looking for.
