The cigar selection is outstanding, except for the manager Peter Webster he tried selling me a box of Don Pepin Sparky's for $350 or singles for $13.50 didn't purchase them from him another tobacconist, name Keoke who sold them to me for $187.00 plus tax,I will never buy a cigar from Peter Webster he his definitely a dishonest person who will rip you off he his a bad person. read more

It's always nice coming in here and smelling the aroma of sweet tobacco! Came in today to grab a couple of cigars for the hubby. Very helpful and friendly staff. They have large selection that will fit any budget. If you like cigars, this is the place! Parking is horrible, but if you get lucky enough to get a spot, it's well worth the visit. 8/13/16 Came in today to stock up on stogies. The good news is the Rain City Cigar Lounge is up and running. It's basically a converted van that sits in the parking lot and is available to members who meet a certain monthly criteria. The weird news is, I opened my Yelp app to check in and saw that as a yelper we get a 5% discount on orders of 5 cigars or more. Well imagine my surprise when I see signs posted in the store that if you buy 5 or more, you get 5% off. Sorry Yelpers. We aren't special after all. :(. Kind of disappointing, but what's a yelper to do? Lol read more

Rain City Cigar - The new cigar lounge for members only! - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Small local store that's been around forever. They have some nice pipe tobacco there. Friendly service.

The best traditional brick and mortar cigar shop in Puget Sound. Everyone is super friendly, they are knowledgeable about their product, and they regularly have vendor events. Best of all they have great prices for a brick and mortar. The only thing they are missing is a dedicated, permenant outdoor covered smoking area read more

They may have a limit on Opus X's but they have Opus X's. All of the inventory of cigars are kept in very good condition and they are purveyed by very knowledgeable staff. Rain City Cigars (RCC) is an old school kind of store nestled in a City and State full of ironic contradictions. For example you can buy a cigar in the store but you can't smoke it in the store. While there's a national crusade against tobacco products there's a trend to legalize marijuana--as was done in Washington State. The primary method of ingesting Marry-Jane is burning the leaves and inhaling the smoke. The primary method of ingesting tobacco is burning the leaves and inhaling the smoke. Delta-g-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) good, nicotine bad. C'est la vie. We humans are prone to contradictions but I digress... Pleasant staff is a big plus on my list and pleasant, non-passive aggressive staff in Seattle is a huge plus. Such were the two folks that were eager to help me with my selections. I received the intro to cigars 101 lecture because I didn't identify myself as a seasoned aficionado. But even the impromptu course didn't feel condescending. Again this was delivered by a Seattle-ite so I was equally surprised and delighted. While RCC deserved of a fifth star I'm withholding it because their inventory was a bit lacking for my taste. I overheard a white-fib being told to another patron when he asked for Davidoff cigars. My go to cigar is a Davidoff Special R because of its consistency but to my surprise they didn't have any. That's ok because they had the very elusive Opus X instead. read more

I'm fairly new to cigars and can only compare Rain City to a few stores I've been to, but I like this one a lot. It's not pretentious and I wasn't made to feel I don't belong there. Friendly staff and easily accessible cigars. It was a pleasure to spend $100 there on some nice sticks. read more

Rain City is a very good tobacconist located in a nondescript strip mall in Georgetown about a ten minute drive from downtown. Their selection is quite good with very fair prices for Washington state. The guy working the counter was pretty knowledgable and very personable. There is also a table and chairs to enjoy your smoke. If you are in Seattle and need a Padron Anniversary or Ashton VSG it is worth the drive to Rain City read more

Well stocked, great hospitality, fantastic suggestions for cigars we had not tried before. Kenny "the new guy" is the man. Easy Lyft ride from downtown Seattle. Rain City Cigars is the best cigar shop in Seattle. I used to work in the area and could visit them regularly but got a new job on the eastside so now can only go there on the weekends. My search for a replacement to their great service and selection has been unsuccessful. I highly recommend visiting them and getting to know the crew there. I think you'll agree with me they are the best in Seattle. Steve. read more

It was hard finding good cigar shops in south Seattle. This is one of the best I could find so far. I'm new to the area, so every time I went to a "cigar shop" it turned out to be a bong shop! This place has great selections and the staff seem knowledgeable, I'll be coming here again. read more

Great cigar shop! Lots of offerings in a nice humidor cabinet. They have a good pipe selection too. Matt was really great and told me about the neighborhood. This my first visit to Georgetown. It was a great experience with the locals, even they say it is best shop in Seattle. read more

There is nothing like taking long slow puffs of a stogie. I partake in the mainly male dominated ritual about once every six months and I needed to find a place that sold cigars exclusively. I didn't want a place that sold a few cigars, Black and Milds, and Camels. Fortunately, I found Rain City Cigar in good ol' Georgetown. Rain City Cigar is a small shop but comes equipped with an impressive variety of cigars. Light colored, dark colored, thick, thin, full-bodied, light, and from all countries all over the world, Although I am a cigar smoker, I haven't educated myself enough on what is considered high end. When shopping for a cigar my specifications are simple: cheap, light, and smells heavenly and Rain City has always been able to provide me with something I end up thoroughly enjoying. What makes Rain City top notch are the employees. They are passionate about cigars and are enthusiastic about educating and finding a cigar best suits your tastes. Plus, they can cut your cigar for you. I suggest a triangle cut which I was introduced to by an employee. Its changed my life! Rain City Cigar is great for cigar aficionados and cigar novices. read more

I am a wedding planner and have an upcoming wedding where the groom asked me to put together a cigar bar for him. Knowing NOTHING about cigars, I reached out to Rain City Cigar and they came to the rescue. Not only did they offer to do a cigar concierge service for our event (which we didn't do, but nice to know they offer that!), they suggested a well rounded selection of cigars, helped me figure out how to pair them with scotch, added all the accessories I needed and all I had to do was come and pick it all up, which was an easy process and the staff there is incredibly friendly! I will highly recommend this store as a must have resource to all of my colleagues and clients who are looking for cigars for their events (or just in general). Thank you Dale and Rain City Cigar! read more

I am so psyched to have discovered a place like this on the south side! I needed my cigar lighter refilled and searched for a place that might sell the right kind of butane cannister, which led me here. It's nearby so I just drove over and asked if they could sell me a cannister, to which the clerk said, "Sure - but we'll always refill your lighter for free if you'd prefer." I hadn't even bought the lighter there. Sweet! As far as the actual cigar part of this story - which is more important than free butane, I'll grant you - this was an even nicer surprise: clean and comfortable atmosphere for perusing, great selection properly stored and displayed, great prices, friendly and knowledgeable service, and heavenly aroma as soon you walk through the door. I don't normally rate or write reviews after one visit, but since this isn't a restaurant, with none of the unavoidable ups and downs that are the very essence of food service, I'm totally okay giving this place max love after spending a pleasant 15 or 20 minutes there today. I'd much rather support a well run local place than buy off the internet, so I know I'll be back regularly. read more

My first time checking out Rain City today - I'm glad I did. This place is definitely worth the drive from Bellevue. Great selection of high quality cigars, lighters, cutters and humidors. Also, service was top notch. Kirsten helped me pick out some cigars she thought I'd like based on what I've enjoyed previously. I planned on picking out just 2 but left with 6 instead. Worth the drive for the friendly and personable service and large selection. I'll be back soon! read more

I am always so pleased to come to this shop. The selection of cigars is well-curated and the staff have always been helpful with suggestions for new cigars to try. I am not a cigar expert! Yet, I am a connoisseur of finding the best individualized gifts. Actually, Yelp was a great source in looking for cigars to give a friend for his birthday that lives in Portland. Kristen is truly the cigar expert. She helped me find the perfect gift for my friend who is the cigar czar. He is still raving about my gift from last year. I decided for Father's Day to give the patriarch of our family a box of cigars. My older cousin is a world traveler and truly enjoys life. I entered Rain City with high expectations of finding the perfect gift and was elated to see that Kirsten is still employed. She does not make you feel stupid if you arent familiar with the various brands of cigars. She is quick to assist you find the perfect gift for your loved one. My gift arrived in PA on time for Father's Day. My cousin was pleasantly surprised that I would take the time to get a gift that he truly enjoys. He even sent me an email last night. He shared a few cigars with his pals. They all enjoyed the cigars. And would like me to buy cigars for them. So because of Kristen-everyone thinks I am the cigar expert. If you want to become the cigar czar--just go to Rain City Cigar and ask for Kristen. read more

This Place is great. As a newbie when it comes to cigars and what I'm looking for, the staff was very helpful and welcoming. Great selection of cigars and the atmosphere is top notch. This shop is very easy to get to getting off I-5. I have been here a few times and they have a pretty good selection and the prices are very good. I really appreciated the great service at this location. They have a large variety of cigars and all of the accessories. They prices are good, and their Friday featured brand specials are great. I went on a Thursday not realizing that they close rather early - when you navigate to a place google generally tells you if it's closed/closing soon, but Google let me down this time. This worked out great because I returned the next day and they had their Friday featured brand. A representative from Oliva cigars was there. I purchased about a dozen, they gave me 4 free and threw in an Oliva cutter as well. They humidor I bought was reasonably priced, not much more than I would have paid online - the price on the cigars actually balanced the cost difference. Plus they had quick friendly service. I will definitely return. They had several chairs set up outside in the parking lot, under an EZ-up and there were several men smoking outside in the nice weather. read more

I visited this store twice while on vacation in Seattle and my words are based on that fact. Well, I was startled at the few stores available to buy cigars in Seattle. I do not mean the typical 'smoke shops' which are predominantly cigarette and convenience store items based but real cigar professionals with walk in humidors and knowledgeable staff. Rain City was found on line while doing some pre-work before my arrival in Seattle. Yes, the location is very easy to find and convenient if you are staying at any of the downtown hotels. Upon arrival at the store the first morning I met Joe whom I assumed was the owner as he was very engaging speaking about the cigar scene in Seattle, state taxes and the selection at the store. Better yet, Joe took me to the 'back' storage room where the bulk of stock is kept - wow lots of good stuff! I picked up a few sticks the first day to test the storage quailty - one Padron exclusivo was less than optimal but I was all right with the other two sticks. The one disappointment was the availability of my favorites or available quantities: Ashton VSG, Padron 64 principe and RJ Habana to name a few. Price is price and based on no real competition with equal selection there most likely is no incentive to charge less. Overall, when I compared my bill for cigars from Manhattan last summer I would state that Rain City per stick prices (10% discount included) are equal to NYC pricing (Nat Sherman, De La Concha and Barclay-Rex) without the selection that one has on the other coast. Overall, I would return based on limited availability in Seatle and most importantly Joe's very welcoming demeanour! read more

When ever I need a cigar that was released recently I know where to go. Rain City Cigar This place always has the cigars I'm looking for in the sizes I want. (normally lancero) They had Leaf by Oscar which has been a difficult cigar to find because they don't sell online. The staff is always friendly and informative. Their knowledge on the cigars is top notch. I don't like a full strength cigar but I enjoy a full bodied cigar. The staff can always help me pick out new cigars that meet the flavor profile I enjoy. read more

I'm writing this while I puff away on a fantastic freebie I got at one of Rain City's events - free (good!) cigars with an already discounted box purchase is enough reason to give them five stars. - Add a star for the people. I'm a terrible introvert and I am always afraid of sounding like a fool. I've only been shopping here for about eight months, but every person behind the counter has treated me like I've been a valued customer for the twenty years that I've been smoking pipes and cigars. It hasn't mattered if the place is packed with customers or if I'm the only one there, I'm still treated like I'm important. - Add a star for the location. If I'm on my way home from work, to work, to Costco... they're only a few blocks off of any of the major thoroughfares in Georgetown. - Add a star for the prices. Out of towners- Welcome to Washington! Our state has had a slew of amazingly punitive tobacco laws and taxes. Rain City lobbies on our behalf for reasonable legislation. Regardless, the prices and selection here beat any cigarette store/head shop disguised as a cigar store. On boxes they are on par with the online store I used to buy from.... plus I don't have to wait for shipping. The only problem I have with Rain City is that I'm out of room in my humidor thanks to my last trip there. It's a pretty good problem to have. read more

Well, firstly the staff is terrific. They are attentive, knowledgeable and don't pressure you at all. They will go out of their way to meet your needs. The pipe selection is very nice, as is the cigar selection...but for me, personally, the choice of pipe tobacco is really fantastic. It is hard to find a good pipe place in Seattle - most places are head shops with very little in the means of real pipes, much less knowledge of which tobaccos they sell. The array of tobaccos here is fabulous, and the staff can narrow down your desired smoke with a few questions and some samples or smells. I am very happy to find this shop. I wasn't able to quite find a tobacconist I felt at home with, or fully trusted the pipe and pipe tobacco selection...but Rain City Cigar is a very pleasant find. Great service, and excellent for the pipe smoker in Seattle who hasn't quite fount their sweet spot. Anything I need, I'll be able to find here. A+ read more

I'm something of a novice cigar smoker, and I've only been to Rain City once. The service I received was excellent. The guy that helped me was helpful and informative. My only small beef was that I felt the supply was rather high-end. I can usually find a decent range of cigars at around 5 dollars, but a cursory glance at Rain City yielded no such luck. I ended up spending a few dollars more than I wanted to, but oh well. Good place to go for quality cigars. read more
