However, the signage is very good and getting to your train doesn't seem to be an issue. The platforms are high so there is no huge step up to your train. As a terminal station for most trains it's also a great place to depart from as you typically get extra time to board.

Everything worked out pretty well, but you will need the PIN for any credit cards you use in the machines to buy tickets. We didn't have that. We then had to find out where the information office was and purchase tickets at the counter. You could also buy your tickets in advance on one of the aps, but I couldn't get the DB ap to work at all when in Munich even with a full cellular plan. Trainline seemed to work a lot better. My main point is that you probably shouldn't wait until the last minute if you need to be in another city at a set time. Also, carry lots of Euro coins while in Germany. You have to pay 1 1/2 Euros at this station to use the restroom.

The journey began at the central train station, taking the underground route to the S-Bahn, which whisked me away through the city out to the 'burbs to catch a flight out of Munich. The train had clean, comfortable seats. It was a cheap fare, especially considering how far the train goes. The train carriages were lacking any graffiti and were spotless. People were courteous and quiet throughout the journey. They had clear announcements in German, and maps available. Each station seemed safe, and well attended. The train ran on time, and was the best way to go to the airport.

Once when you leave it starts to feel a bit unsafe day and night and we even saw something going on with a bunch of police just a street over. The attached bar was nice with afternoon pastries and coffee. I would also recommend trying out the breakfast - the selection was fantastic and as someone who doesn't eat pork (in Bavaria, I know that's crazy...), it was great to see the vegan options for sausage.

We learned so much about cars, trains, bicycles, and delivery vehicles here. For example, I learned why the Audi TT is so named: because the Audi company had merged with a company that had success in the "Tourist Trophy" races. Most of the cars are behind ropes, but they are spaced out such that you can get a good look at them from all sides. We spent three hours here because we are "read every sign" kind of people. I appreciated that they had vending machines for snacks and beverages, because I got hungry mid-adventure. My favorite sections were the wall with the history of bicycle wheels and the area with the interactive demonstrations of the components of a car. Yes, I do want to see how a rotary engine works!
