After finding (2) items priced at $1.99 each, I preceded to checkout. There I was asked if I had my phone number on file with them and said No. Then I was asked if I wanted to give my number and I again said NO thank you. Then I was told my total was over $19 for the (2) $2 items! The employee said that is the price unless I wanted to give them my phone number! She would NOT sell to me at the marked price otherwise. I don't see how this is a legal business practice we're it's customers are REQUIRED to give their phone number to get the marked price. I would give a ZERO star rating if I could.

I like to check out the different Goodwill locations when I am traveling around and so I visited this store is located in Ft. Pierce. They had a ton of clothes and like the other Goodwill stores I have visited lately, they also had a large selection of Christmas items. I can barely think about Christmas in December never mind when it is 100 degrees out. There was a small selection of furniture as well as the the usual household items, dishes and glassware, and other assorted odds and ends. This store was extremely busy and seems well loved by the community. Nothing here for me today but I would be regular customer if I lived locally.

It is one of the few remaining nonprofit cemeteries left in the state. It is believed that the first person buried in the cemetery was 3 day old James Lafayette Smith. At the time of their child's death his parents were staying with J. Frank Bell who allowed the baby to be buried on his property. He along with Edward J. Traynor deeded the first 1 1/4 acres for the cemetery. 20 more acres were added in 1941 and the last eight acres were purchased in the 1980's. The White City Cemetery was the only cemetery in the county that would allow the burial of Germans during WWII. In 2006 the cemetery suffered a setback when two employees were arrested for stealing over $175,000 from cemetery funds giving new meaning to the term grave robbing. The loss of the money put the future of the cemetery in jeopardy but the White City Cemetery Association was determined to make sure the cemetery would stay open for at least the next 100 years. The association is made up of a board elected by the owners of the cemetery plots. On my visit the cemetery seems to have recovered well from a time when financial matters were so dire that the federal and state governments had tax liens on the property. Today the graves rest under towering live oaks dripping in Spanish moss. The grounds look well maintained and a peaceful aura permeates the park like setting. I noticed a lot of graves of veterans and I always thank them for the service when I pass. Towards the side I found a section of older graves and some predated the founding date of the cemetery. In the back of the cemetery are mausoleums. From a historic perspective this is tranquil place to come and pay your respects to the pioneers of Fort Pierce.

The office staff, Andrea, was very professional and courteous. It had been a long time since I had last visited a relative who is buried there. I will go back more often since I must visit the relative I recently placed there. This cemetery is a non-profit. Their prices are very reasonable.

Today Goodwill has become a $5 billion nonprofit organization that provides job training, employment, and community programs for people who have disabilities that might prevent them from getting a job on their own. This Goodwill is part of the Gulfstream Goodwill which operates in 5 counties, Palm Beach, Martin, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, and Indian River. There are 27 retail locations, 2 outlets, and 41 donation centers. Gulfstream Goodwill Industries Inc., was founded in 1966 by former Mayor of West Palm Beach, Ham Anthony who decided to establish a Goodwill enterprise in Palm Beach County. Mr. Anthony brought together local business leaders who shared his vision and created the first board of directors made up of some of the most prominent businessmen in Palm Beach County at that time. The first rehabilitation facility was opened in 1968. From a start of 10 employees. Gulf Stream Goodwill has grown to over 900 employees serving as the largest health, human and social services nonprofit in the South Florida area. Gulfstream Goodwill operates 4 rehabilitation facilities and many residential transitional housing facilities. I popped into this Port St. Lucie Goodwill during a recent shopping trip to the city. I love checking out Goodwill this time of year for inexpensive costumes and Halloween decor. Usually Goodwill is a good source of both but oddly this Goodwill didn't have any Halloween items. What they did have, furniture clothing, accessories, home goods, toys, etc., were neatly organized and the store was clean. The inventory of Goodwill switches out quickly so you never know what you will find.
