I was referred to Ms. Rahman by our family attorney after a red-light running Ford F-150 totaled my motorcycle and sent me to the ER in an ambulance. The Ford driver had CA minimum coverage of $25K. Laughable in our day and age. I pursued a claim vs. my own insurance company under my auto policy, which includes UI/UIM coverage, with Shaana as my advocate. I have only good things to say about Shaana. She is beyond competent, experienced, persistent and determined. Her communication skills are great: I was involved in tactics and strategy and was always kept in the loop. Never felt forgotten or back-burnered. She explains the process in layman's language and lets the client know what to expect from the opposition in terms of their tactics. After countering all the foot-dragging and procedural moves by my insurer, she secured a settlement that fell within the range she estimated in our initial consultation. Shaana took my case in 2010. An SUV 4 wheeled through a red light and over my motorcycle leaving me broken and hospitalized. Horrible experience. Shanna was very confrontational and full of attitude. Didn't proactively communicate what was going on in the case and many times didn't reply until I followed up repeatedly. She didn't do any due diligence to build my personal injury case, didn't even ask for people who knew my prior to the injury or even post injury. No expert witnesses which was really bizarre. I was on the receiving end of a bike-car accident which resulted in broken bones and a broken bike. I initially went to a couple of lawyers but was discouraged by their immediate willingness to represent me without even listening to the accident details. If you're looking for an excellent injury attorney to represent you to their fullest extent, please look no further. I was involved in a nasty motorcycle wreck in June 2010 that was NOT my fault. I sustained major injuries and contacted one of the first attorneys that popped up on an Internet search. That was a mistake. Said attorney promised me everything under the sun, only to immediately drop my case after discovering the negligent driver who nearly killed me had no insurance despite what he told the police at the scene of the crash. This attorney told me that I had no legal recourse. And then refused to return multiple phone messages and emails I placed to him (see my review of Michael Silverman and stay away from him). Fortunately I was smart enough to seek a second opinion. And that's when Shaana Rahman stepped in and saved the day. Shaana was kind enough to provide me with a free in-office consultation. She spent a lot of time with me gathering information about the crash and discussing my options with me. Shaana went above and beyond anything I expected. She was willing and able to do the extensive, time consuming work that the first attorney wasn't willing nor able to do. To make a long story short, she was able to work some major magic and find an old existing insurance policy on the car that hit me that not even the car owners knew existed! The policy on the car wasn't huge, but it was something. And she was able to recover the maximum amount on the policy. No amount of money could *ever* replace all I lost. But what I got was way more than I expected being that the loser who hit me was unlicensed and uninsured. I don't know how she did it. But she did. And thanks to her I was able to pay my overdue bills and avoid a potential bankruptcy. And get this...she was able to get the insurance adjusters to pay me more than what the "street value" of my bike was because it *was* a near show quality vintage bike. And although all attorneys collect approximately 33% of anything you recover, she didn't take a cut out of the money given to me for the bike itself! The money she recovered for me made it possible for me to completely rebuild my bike and have enough left over pad my starving savings account. Any vintage rider out there can surely appreciate that.
