This business completely missed noting that my water heater was 18 years old at the time of my…read moreinspection. Fast forward 3 years and the thing blew up water spewing it all over my house. Thankfully I was home at the time and immediately began addressing the water flow. When I politely emailed him to let him know he really goofed, he told me, there was no corrosion noted and that I should've had an annual inspection. I'm sorry, but that is a LAME excuse, it is his area of expertise, and from what I know from plumbers and supply houses, the expected lifetime of a water heater is 10-12 years. He put in his report that a hose needed a new washer, yet neglected completely that the water heater had no pan under it, was so old it could not only ruin my house, but totally needed to be replaced. Then, instead of politely recieving my criticism, had the nerve to tell me I should have had annual roof and water heater inspections. These inspectors are supposed to be experts, yet they have absolutely no responsibility beyond their reports. If the water heater looked cleans and"operational" as he stated, he didn't even take the time to look up the date of manufacture online by serial number to see if it needed to be replaced. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

I recently hired Soloway and Associates to inspect a 26-year-old condominium I was buying. I was…read morepresent during the inspection and felt the inspector was being thorough. However after completing the transaction to purchase the home I discovered there had been damage caused by a leaking dishwasher that resulted in rotted lower kitchen cabinets accompanied by mold and mildew. He also failed to catch a sliding screen door with rusted and broken rollers that would not operate. Guess he wasn't as thorough as I thought. I think there are better home inspectors in Santa Fe.

David inspected my home and once I closed, so many things were broken, not working, as if he hadn't…read moreeven inspected it. Told me the roof was a great one- it leaks like a sieve. The garage door wires weren't attached. The oven was leaning over backwards, no hot water in the showers, half of the electrical outlets didn't work, water gushed out from underneath the kitchen sink when the dishwasher was on, the a/c wires were cut, heater blower was shot, on and on. He tried to say that this was all done after he inspected it (about three weeks before the close of escrow...so the seller came in and did all of this damage after the inspection?) I should have been wary as he was recommended by my realtor who was dishonest on many issues. Be wary of him...Nice enough guy but obviously inept at his job.

The report he prepared said everything was working perfectly and there was nothing to report. I was kind of surprised considering the age of the property. Unbeknownst to me the water heater was 17 years old and barely functioning. My plumber told me there was a rubber hose which had melted and was ready to catch fire and there was also a pipe which was lose and could have caused a major leak. The master bedroom toilet was leaking and was so old it was not flushing properly. The garbage disposal did not work at all. It was so old it had completely rusted. My plumber also told me the hose connecting the dishwasher to the drain was completely rusted. Good thing I didn't use it as there would have been a flood. I had to purchase a new dishwasher. So unfortunately I cannot recommend Dave Stowe.
