I was looking for a clean install. I didn't want to see any wires at all. I shopped around for a while (mostly on Yelp) and received quotes from several businesses. It seemed most of the quotes didn't include moving the electrical outlets behind the televisions or concealing the wires, but Mike's did and the cost was very similar to those that didn't. He and his partner came to our house and were in and out within approximately 4 hours. They were very attentive to our needs, explained everything to us as they were going, and cleaned up any mess made from moving the electrical outlets. SORRY, BUT I CAN'T RECOMMEND DFW SECURITY…read more I had existing alarm system and signed a 3-year contract only for the discount that I received on my homeowner's insurance policy. I can't / won't recommend them due to the sole fact that they refuse to release you from your contract in the event of a long-distance move. At the end of my second year, my fiancee and I moved out of the DFW area to another city several hours away. I would have been happy to transfer my service to our new address. Although DFW Security doesn't offer service in that market they refused to release me from my contract. I was given the option of 1) transferring my service to my new address 2) transferring the service and remaining balance of my contract to a friend or family member still in the DFW area or 3) transferring it to my previous home's new owner. Since none of those was an option, I ended up paying $252 to buy out the final 12 months of my contract. Most companies will release you from your service agreement without penalty if you provide proof of relocation outside their service area. Be warned that isn't the case with DFW Security. They're polite and make it easy to end your contract, but the entire process still left me feeling a bit put-off.
