I was going to get through this and I was gonna do it. And all I heard was huffing from the two ladies that were in the room with me. They were very short with me and very curt even when asking the original questions before you go in the room. They acted like they hate their job and they just wanted to get this day over with. When a couple tears streamed on my eyes, I could hear the huffing and that doesn't help at all. I explained to them that I was very claustrophobic and then I will try my best not to move or swallow or anything. I realize that you can't even breathe in for 20 minutes. That's a little bit impossible but even for a couple minutes at a time When you're scared is hard. They got real huffy and put a washcloth on my eyes and when I put my arms up to my stomach when they told me the machine might burn me. They both got puffy again and we're talking under their breath to each other, but I could hear them. It made me so much more scared. I've never heard anyone. Tell me that the machine would burn me before I've had closed MRI before. And if my whole body is touching the stupid machine and not only do, I feel like I am being suffocated in a coffin but now I'm being told that the machine could burn me while I'm in there.... And when they're getting mad at you because your arms instinctively went up to your stomach when they were trying to cover them up, which felt like they were strapping me down to a table. I know they weren't, but that's what it felt like in my mind and they were unsympathetic. They were not understanding at all. They were just huffy and rude. If you were claustrophobic at all, this is probably not the place to go for sure.

This is now an Akumin imaging center. The 2 stars are for decent parking and the on-site experience…read more-- bare bones, but the techs were nice when I went there for both mammogram and ultrasound, and got me through quickly. If you care about communicating with them on any level, I'd pick somewhere else. Making an appointment is a huge pain, because you have to call and go through some central customer service center, no matter what number you call, and there is always a lengthy hold time (although they will call you back). You'd think a massive company like this would have a similar setup to Quest allowing online booking, if you can't reach the specific location directly. Also takes a while to get in. Good luck if you have any questions later or need to either get them old records to refer to or get a copy of your scans from them. Calling gets you the long hold time and then the scheduling people, who of course have no info outside of that. After a long conversation, the rep said she'd have someone at the location call me back, which they never did. I got locked out of my patient portal account and sent multiple messages to their tech help desk, never heard back or was able to get back in. I tried *three times* to get them old records, once authorizing them to contact my previous facility, the others involving me speaking with the facility. They were either never received or not uploaded -- hard to tell which, as you can't talk to anyone, but when I got a copy for myself I received them in 3 days, so the issue is at the Akumin end somewhere. I needed to get copies of my scans & reports from them, spoke with someone at the central number yet again, said I'd pick up from this location in 3 days. Ended up delayed on that, so they even had additional time to deal with it, yet when I showed up there was nothing waiting for me. Fortunately, it wasn't busy at the time and I had 15 minutes to hang out while they burned a CD and printed things out. Aaaaand just received a results letter from them regarding a scan in MARCH -- it is now JUNE. The content of the letter is also only partially correct. Won't be going back unless my insurance gives me no other option.

Inconsistent experience with scheduling and systems down. I have gone here for several years and My…read moreexperience with the actual technicians and office have always been efficient and easy. The scheduling line today was very challenging. The first call not great news, however professionally handled, I was asked to call back as the systems were down. The second call I was told they did not have my orders in the system. Understandable. However as I read off the information on my orders from the doctor, I was asked for ccp codes (really how would I know that when there is nothing on the order that states CCP code). Then I was told that the code for a mammogram and the assessment code didn't match and I had to call my doctor and get it revised and they could not schedule the mammogram. This order form looks exactly the same as every order form I have copies of. Then when I pressed I was told by the scheduling agent that she was not incompetent (words never used by me) and that she was sending me to someone else which of course rang until I was disconnected. The third call was more professional and I was able to schedule my mammogram with only a little pushback i.e. has to be scheduled after 365 days. Which I had to explain ( as I did last year ) that is not the case with my insurance and I understand that is the case with many insurance providers and that's why the scheduler must state that.
