I had absolutely NO idea where to start or even the questions to ask. I searched, read about and investigated so many different places to hire, and always walked away with the feeling that I was just another customer. That was not the feeling we were going to accept for our very important day. We were determined to make our day one where everyone was as happy to be there as we were, including our caterer. Our friend Lori introduced us to Leisa, and we are eternally grateful. The very first meeting with Leisa convinced us we were going to be working with her. She put us at ease immediately stating that it will be what we want at a price that will fit our budget. She didn't disappoint! Here's the kicker... Leisa showed up to find that most everything that was promised to work at this event place was in fact not working or was not working up to expectations... but we did not find out about these issues until AFTER our ceremony. That's right, no excuses, no bellyaching and most importantly no worries were revealed to us while we were busy trying to get everything completed for our big day. She even gave us samples of her delicious treats while we were setting up the hall and always with that beautiful smile on her face! Leisa Newby is a true professional! Cooking at home for a large group sounded even more daunting, and I'm no slouch in the kitchen! With one phone call to Everyday Gourmet, everything started to fall amazingly into place. Leisa took great care in talking through choices and options to make our family dinner completely customized - from finalizing the menu, to working within our budget; she made it all very easy. Once the evening was upon us, we were all very excited...Leisa came in like a modern day "Mary Poppins of the kitchen," while we visited over drinks in the living room, wonderful smells started to waft through our home, and delicious food began appearing...it was delightfully surreal. Leisa interacted with our group perfectly by explaining the food and answering questions, and she complimented our evening with her professional and likable disposition. When the night was winding down, I walked in to find Leisa drying the last of the dishes - to my amazement; my kitchen looked exactly the same way it did when she'd arrived!! I wanted to applaud. The location is about 8 miles from I85 exit Dabney drive exit -Henderson NC - also close to the Raleigh NC road. We chose a chicken dish and portabella mushrooms as our two entrees. We then had a beautiful salad and two vegetable sides for dinner. She also provided a beautiful charcuterie tray to start the night as well as infused water to accompany the meal. She arrived at the home early with her partner and set up the buffet. They were both friendly, professional and attentive to our needs. It was beautifully presented and kept fresh for the evening. At the end of the event, everything was left clean and sparkling in the home. I highly recommend Cheri for any event you choose to cater. Her prices are reasonable, her service is excellent and the food is truly delicious!

I have a friend who actually thinks Guinness is a good beer. I know Irish people who won't drink…read moreit and attribute it to being the "Bud Light" of their country. They do this Guinness challenge where you pay some money and then you drink 100 beers with no time limit. Then when you're done you get your name on a plaque on the wall. Pretty good way to get some fools to drink nasty beer at $8.50 a pop + $2 tip and keep spending money! That means each plaque costs over $1000!! Probably quadruple or more when you add in food. This is an Irish pub through and through. It's a little deceptive as it has a dive bar old pub feel, but really it's pretty clean and polished and most of the stuff in here is new and well taken care of to create the illusion. Which I'm grateful for. The service here is excellent. Go to Aviator if you want to experience a vast difference in service quality (bad). Staff here is attentive, fast, friendly...everything you'd expect. They're also not understaffed either. The owner is frequently available if you have any concerns or issues. He's there to make sure everything runs smoothly and is done correctly. Even when they are slammed they have extremely good service. They have an extensive Irish menu. The fish and chips are excellent as is the reuben. Bangers and Mash, Shepherds Pie, Gaelic Chicken, Scotch Eggs...everything you'd expect in an Irish restaurant and it all tastes good. A lot of people like coming here for brunch which has a different menu. I think on Monday's they have all you can eat crab legs for $50 per person...you order a cluster one at a time, not a buffet. They frequently have bikes nights and you'll see a ton of bikes during Angier Bike Fest. They charge a 3% service charge on the bill...not sure what that is for... Either way, this is a great restaurant one of the best in Angier and even the greater Fuquay and Lillington area.

I think that the shepherds pie had too many vegetables in it, but the meat was seasoned very well and the mashed potatoes were delicious! I would definitely go back there for another stout on my next visit. Our server was very nice and very attentive. The atmosphere was bright and cheery and I believe everyone in our five person party had a really good time. They did have the soccer tournament on throughout the bar, which was very nice. Go make fabulous memories and have safe journeys.
