She was great to work with in so many ways - flexible in scheduling, open to our location ideas, straightforward about her pricing and what her packages included, always punctual - but best of all was how comfortable she made me and my husband feel in front of the camera. My husband is a very, very handsome man (I swear I'm only a little bit biased), but he did not know how to take a good photograph. Until Nicole came along, every photo I had of him his eyes were closed, or crossed, or his mouth was hanging open; he was just generally awkward in front of the camera. Nicole immediately put him at ease. Right from the start she had him cracking up laughing, relaxed and happy, and that definitely shows in our photos. That shoot was when we knew we had found the perfect person to work with. Most other vendors had a list of locations they shot at, and we wanted to do ours at the "til death do us part" mural downtown, and then at a carnival. Other photographers were incredibly hesitant - especially about shooting at night, at a carnival - but Nicole was game right away. She did an amazing job shooting us in a difficult situation, and her photos look great: beautiful, colorful, glowy carnival lights; romantic shots on the carousel and ferris wheel; even some really tough shots of us in the hall of mirrors! When it came time for my bridal portraits I was totally comfortable shooting with Nicole, but not quite comfortable with myself. Like 99% of brides, I was losing weight for the wedding, and wasn't where I wanted to be. I was so nervous that the photos would turn out terribly, that I would hate the way I looked and then start hating my dress and dreading the big day, but I shouldn't have been. Nicole was a great coach, talking me through poses, telling me to tilt my head this way, turn to the light that way, complimenting me, and just making me feel really confident. My bridal portraits turned out absolutely gorgeous. The day of our wedding, Nicole was a joy to have her around. Her enthusiasm was culpable, and she was friendly, upbeat, and sweet. Her photos of me getting ready are amazing - these were not shots that were important to me, but are now some of my favorites. She got great photos of my guests milling around before the ceremony, including some real stunners of my young nephews (the ring bearers). During the ceremony she somehow faded into the background while still getting great angles of me and my husband holding hands, exchanging rings and vows, laughing with each other and our wedding parties, and our friends and family surrounding us with love and warmth. After the ceremony she was a great marshall, getting those who needed to be in photos in and those who needed to get out of photos out - just one more thing that requires a huge amount of tact and delicacy that Nicole handled beautifully! She never misses a detail, down to our menus and guestbook at the reception, beautiful shots of my husband and I cutting the cake together, our guests laughing and talking, and makes everyone looks gorgeous. Her editing is superb, and her prices for prints, books, and DVDs are better than I've found by far. I really just can't say enough great things about Nicole. We can't wait for our next shoot with her - Christmas photos with our doggies. We've found a photographer for life!

Having been trained as a photojournalist, she captures moments as they happen, and her shots feel modern and natural. She knows so many little tricks - for example, instead of having me always hold my bouquet in front of me, she instructed me to have it handing down by my side in some shots. I look so comfortable and relaxed in those pictures, and it's something that a less experienced photographer wouldn't know to do. Nothing felt forced and we had a lot of fun with her during both the engagement shoot and the wedding. She brought a second shooter, so they could capture events happening simultaneously. She provided a standalone photobooth camera that guests could control themselves. She released a couple "teaser" photos just a couple days after the wedding, so we could start enjoying them right away. A few months later, she provided hundreds of photos on discs and worked with a company to make a beautiful flushmount album. We love looking back at our photos and we highly recommend Sasha.

I had a client who was not so happy with her wedding photographer but was in LOVE with his engagement session shooter. Guess who that was? They loved loved Jenna! I honestly have not had the honor of working with Jenna on the professional level but think its much more important to describe what it's like on a client level. We (my husband and I) are not photogenic people. We hate posing for photos unless we have had something to drink (and by something I mean a lot!). We absolutely loved our photos from our engagement shoot and our wedding - most of the important moments were captured in beautifully vivid color. We had an Indian fusion wedding and chose her because we saw another Indian fusion wedding she had done in which we fell in love with her photography style. That said, there is a certain dramatic style and culturally specific type of photos that Indian weddings usually have and I felt that I missed out on some of those types of photos (even though we are not a fan of overly dramatic to begin with and she already adds a good amount of drama to her photos!). There could have been a little more cultural exploration there and of course that will come with her practicing on Indian weddings. Regardless, I am so glad I took a chance on her because we were really happy with the results for a totally reasonable price for wedding photographers. Would certainly recommend her in general! And for Indian weddings, just make sure you work with her to tell and show her exactly what you're looking for, but she can definitely give you the drama you're looking for!

Pulling off a wedding is a full time job in itself. I wasn't sure where to start. We had a date and…read morea location so I started looking for a photographer. This is a big day right?! I wanted to make sure that I had photos that would capture the essence of the day not only for my memories but for our future generations to come. So... I started googling and there were a lot of great photographers out there each with their own style. Kristi's photos spoke to me. My husband lived in Marfa for a few years while we dated long distance. We have such fond memories of West Texas and that's really where our love grew. I was amazed at Kristi's ability to capture the uniqueness that is Marfa so I reached out and lucky for us she was available for our date! I felt at ease with her immediately. She's super to work with, very responsive, and her prices were comparable with other photographers I'd contacted. I knew that Kristi was the right photographer for me when she replied to an email pointing out the sunset time of our wedding day (a year away) and suggesting that we move it up 30 minutes to make sure we captured some shots downtown while the lighting was still optimal. I had actually already checked the sunset time and I appreciated that attention to detail but I didn't even think about being downtown and how the sunlit reflects through the streets. We took her advice and moved up the ceremony and truth be told our downtown shots are my absolute favorites. We are big music fans and we have great shots outside of Moody that I love. My hubby is not one that likes a lot of attention placed on him (opposites do attract, I'm a ham) but Kristi's style is so easy going and natural that not only was he able to relax but he actually enjoyed taking all of the different shots during the day. Thru Kristi's recommendations we booked our officiant and a "day of" wedding planner (venue required). We wanted a different kind of wedding than your traditional, run of the mill wedding and Kristi gave us smart advice on little things we could do to make it extra unique and special to us. One of the things she suggested after talking with me was that we got ready, together, just the two of us at our house. It was perfect for us - not rushed, we were relaxed and listening to music, drinking champagne... We're coming up on our 2nd anniversary and we still comment to each other how thankful we are that we got ready together, alone, in our own house. It really set the tone for the rest of the evening and I would have never thought of it had Kristi not mentioned it. I really felt like she took the time to get to know us and our desires ahead of time. She was so much more than "just" a wedding photographer to us. And of course, the day comes and goes in a whirlwind but Kristi was super prompt getting us shots back so we could live it all again. It's a big day; a wedding is a huge investment of time, money, and effort. Best advice I could give to a future bride is find someone that you connect with, that will give you the time you deserve, listen to how you want the day to go. You'll know when you feel the connection. For us Kristi was just phenomenal!

And I don't usually like wedding photographers because they usually remind me of former Russian military or crazy hoarder cat-lady... expressing their pent-up need to control others though their 2 hours of power... But I digress... Kristi is amazing, she actually made the wedding MORE fun and the times we were out in the heat (yes, my friend opted for a summer wedding in Austin) enjoyable. In the end, Katie ended-up with amazing photographs (turns out people look better and take better photos when they are happy and having fun) and I ended-up with another friend. I've been best man in two weddings, a groomsman in at least 15, and an user in probably 10 over the years... including Katie's wedding last year.
