Our son is very sick and is getting treatment nearby in Elgin. Not only did this camp stay open for us when they were closing down today; they provided so much support during our time here. I cannot express my appreciation for Elaine, Hunter & Bill. You truly made such a stressful time better. There are 5 sites. You have sewer & electricity. You can fill water if asking front desk. Ask the front desk for anything......they will help. We were given our first bundle of firewood for free. We were given several supplies to borrow (snow shovel, hose, bucket, puzzles & games). They have showers and bathrooms year round. I have learned that you don't find that here during this time. Im so thankful for the staff having such a big heart. Thank you thank you thank you! We will be back to visit during a warmer time!

It is easily accessible and right down the street from several shops on Randall rd. The sites are level. There are two parts, apparently old and new. We stayed a week in nights the new part... it is open and close to forest preserve trail heads. The old, shaded and a bit more compact. Now... their water is RUSTY!! It turned out camco filter brown. Make sure you have a filtration system and a good one at that's you can't drink the water even though you can drink the water. There are pit toilets but no showers. 10 primitive hike in sites. 70 ish sites for rvs. It is quiet and no one bothered us. Mid week it is basically empty. I'm not sure if we would use this campsite again if we had the opportunity. The water was a huge bummer.

The park itself is very pretty, lots of green space, very mature trees that provide a ton of shade, picnic tables, and fire rings and it is very clean. The downside is you are sandwiched between Highway 74 and a train track and it is very loud. I can honestly say and all of our travels this is the loudest we have ever had From a nearby highway. We had our overhead fan running on high all night and you could still hear the semi's rumbling by so we did not get a good night sleep. There is a nice pool here and they had music playing so the kids would probably really enjoy this place. Lots of room to roam! We were assigned slot 19, which is a nice pull through site. We did have a bit of trouble with low water pressure at this site. We also could not get the Wi-Fi to work. We could connect, but the speakers were so low. We couldn't do anything with it. We have Verizon and cell service was great so that worked out for us. At $36 per night for a 30 amp site with a good Sam discount it's a pretty good deal. Staff were super friendly as well.

They had Karaoke on Friday night and a band on Saturday in a barn on the property. We didn't go to either but since the barn is fairly enclosed it didn't bother us. This place is pretty quiet durning the day, like I said it's a super relaxed vibe, maybe because when we were there lots of spots were open. Management is great, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. There are lots of seasonal's and plenty of nightly camping spots too. The RV spots are basically in a grassy field with some gravel, not perfectly level but not so bad that we had to pull out leveling blocks. Big nice trees everywhere. They have a nice playground and a great pond! It seems that they go to the effort to dump fresh sand on one side of the pond so that it's kind of like a beach and it makes to bottom of the pond sandy instead of muddy. There is also a big fountain in the pond that helps circulate the water and I suspect filter some of it. They don't have wifi but we didn't mind. We have been to so many RV parks that "offer" wifi but then you get there and it's so crapy that you feel a little cheated. I'd much rather know what I'm in for up front. AND we had great cell service (att) so we could do anything we wanted to. Happy camping!!

They cheerfully replied it wasn't a problem and everything would be waiting for us. The owner met us at the building. Gave us our passes and map, showed us our site went over everything. The grounds were beautiful and campers there say it's getting better every season. The dog park was even beautifully kept. The sites ranged from very wooded to open areas. The pool is very clean with a family atmosphere with other campers. It's on the med-small side. We will definitely be returning next season.

The restrooms behind the store are great. The water has no unpleasant smells or taste. The grass is well maintained. We had a heavy rain while camping here, and most sites seem to dry up pretty quickly. There were only a few sites that held water for the day. Easy, quick access to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The roads through the park are well maintained and were designed to be wide enough for large rigs to turn. I've been to sites that have narrow roads and it's a pain; not here. Mature trees in most sites proved adequate shade. The tent sites here are awesome. I would definitely recommend tent camping here. The playground is cool. I seemed to attract a lot of children for sandbox fun. Con (1): Don't book A2, A3, or A4 if you plan to sit outside much. The interstate noise at those sites is overbearing. Your views will be construction trash, storage building, and apartment parking lot. It almost feels like those sites are not in the campground and the road/trees work like a megaphone (amplifies the road noise). They are perfect for RVs passing through and staying one night.
