Very nice surprise! Walking distance to the beach and not far from all the activity but still quite!

One of the best RV resorts we've ever stayed at! Since my wife had to work, I took my two year old…read moreson down to PCB for some camping with Daddy. We selected Emerald Coast because of the outstanding reviews that we saw on Yelp and Good Sam. Let's just say that we were significantly impressed! Check in was a breeze. We arrived about thirty minutes prior to the office closing on Wednesday afternoon. The ladies at the front desk were phenomenal. Super friendly and ready to help. Plus, they gave us a pretty sweet military discount. After explaining all the procedures and campground rules, we were on our way to or pull through spot. They give you a gate clicker for access after hours. No codes to memorize! Our pull-through spot was spacious and clean. Full hookup was convenient and there was a nice picnic table already on the site. I chose our particular spot because of the proximity to the playground. My son had at it as soon as we were done setting up. While the park might seem small, they have some great amenities, to include two pools, laundry facilities, an exercise room and private bathrooms. I'm not sure about the comments regarding the Wifi but we received a code to connect two devices for free for the duration of our stay. Plus, the Wifi is pretty fast for a "communal" network. At around 8:00 pm, I was pulling down 25 Mbps and getting 5 mbps up. Not bad! Zoo World and Shipwreck Island Waterpark are in close proximity. The beach is less than a mile away. If you are looking for a convenient, clean and fun place to park your RV, don't look any further!

We took a nearly 2-year hiatus from camping for a plethora of reasons. However, on 16 JUL 2023, we…read moreleft the Big Easy (aka New Orleans) and headed to Sun Outdoors in Panama City Beach, FL. This is only our 5th camping trip in our travel trailer, but we have stayed at a few other RV parks when we camped with my in-laws. Formerly called Emerald Coast RV Resort, Sun Outdoors Panama City Beach had great online reviews, which were supported by numerous pictures. Our "style" of camping may be a little different than most. We are not ones to just sit under our awning and relax. We like to be on the go and see everything a city has to offer when we camp. Therefore, we use our travel trailer as a relocatable hotel room that serves as our base of operations as we explore the surrounding areas. However, even though we may not use them, we prefer RV resorts with lots of amenities. Sun Outdoors Panama City Beach is a beautiful resort, and he front office staff were all delightful. It is meticulously landscaped, and they pick up the trash twice daily (10:30 AM & 6:30 PM). There are 2 heated pools with adjacent shower facilities, multiple key coded laundry rooms, a fitness center, a clubhouse, a sand volleyball court, shuffleboard "courts", pickleball courts and a covered basketball "pavilion". The sites are decently spaced and easy to access. The resort is in close proximity to highway 98 and Front Beach Road. You are near the beach, Zoo World (no smells or loud animal noises), Wonder Works, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Pier Park, and a plethora of other activities and restaurants. The only negative I experienced is that while at the back pool, there were numerous kids under 14 years old at the pool and they were unattended by any adults. They were rough housing in the pool so much that we decided to walk to the other pool. I should have advised the staff but opted not too and chalked it up to being an isolated incident. I can definitely recommend this resort with a good heart and would definitely go back.

Great place to stay. Yes it is a little older but everything worked and the place still looks good…read more Pool was nice/warm and the beach is a 5 min walk. Sites are all level and fairly easy to back in. They have larger pull through sites for your bigger 5th wheels and class A's. Restrooms/bath house was clean and everything worked. Store was well stocked from craft beer and ice cream to RV parts. There are also great local eats that are less than a 5 min walk. State park is just down the rd.

There is a very load bar across the street, but the music is good and it does not bother us. I could see how would certainly bother others as it does go on late. Place is surrounded by street on one side, shops on another (with very very bright lightning that shines in camper and park) )and houses on the other would certainly be much better with some type of tall fencing to block some of that out. Many improvements could be made to have a nice rv park here adding. Last comment. They do not assign spots or take requests. Get assigned spot upon checkin. Some people like bar band, others do not. Some want to be by beach access, others do not. Let people pick. We will not stay again unless can specify spot. There are decent spots and really bad spots. If I could pick spot, would be so much happier. Asked upon Checkin to not be by road as we had a 3 yr old. Said no spots available. There were many sites all week empty. Empty site is not a good sign either.

We stayed here partially because they said they had good Internet, but stay somewhere else if you need WiFi. The pads are chalk rock - not asphalt or concrete - but we did get a pull through site, which is more important to me than a concrete pad. Also, I like how they have used the pine straw to cover all of the ground near the camp sites to minimize dirt and dust. Oh, forgot to mention that they are close to lots of shopping and restaurants. So, after reconsidering all the positives, I changed my review from a 3 to a 4. Considering the lack of working Internet, grills or fire pits, I just can't give them a five star rating. *** Update *** A few minutes after calling the office for the second time about the Internet, their IT guy rebooted the router / gateway and the WiFi started working - though, it was recommended that I not count on it for anything important. Hey, at least I have some Internet access for now. I was also informed that they cannot have concrete pads, grills or fire pits due to city ordinances. So, that is the sacrifice to being so close to restaurants and shopping. Just remember, this is NOT the camp if you rely on camp WiFi for work or entertainment.

Pool was worthless in the winter because it was not heated. They kept saying it was going to be heated by solar but didn't ever have that happen. The managers were very friendly but I believe they left. There was some noise because it was right on the street and you'd hear the ambulances and police go by quite often. The worst part is getting out of the campground onto the main highway it's like pulling onto i-95 from a dead stop. One person when we were there totaled his car getting out of there. If you need to turn left leaving with your RV lot of times you have turn right and do a u turn.
