I believe they are out of business. They missed our trash several times and I wouldn't recommend if they ever come back

Our trash has been skipped 3 weeks in a row... I have 9 bags of trash in my front yard with maggot all over them... we will be switching back to waste management atleast they pick up the trash. Also on several occasions with refuse we have had trash left in our front yard im not sure how when everything is always bagged that we take out. We thought it would be nice because it was cheaper thought we could save some $. Dont switch youll regret it a month in they raised their prices and, then started missing our trash which went from being picked up on Tuesday to now Saturday. When you call all you get is an answering machine. We are done with raccoon refuse. Worst trash service ever. read more

4 weeks & still not picked up my trash, almost impossible to get ahold of anyone & they never return calls. Offer credits for when they come but like I stated earlier they have not show up in 4 weeks so their credits are about as worthless as they are. They will give you every old excuse in the book "truck broke down, new driver, people out with covid, were running behind but your next...blab blab blab. If you can not pick up for 4 weeks even though you have taken my money I call you a thief. They are by far the worst in the refuse business, very unprofessional, no morals, crooked business started by a low life thief. read more

Very inconsistent. We often put the garbage out Thursday night, as recommended for Friday pickup, and wait days and days 'til they actually show up. Also, really poor communication. read more

I got 2weeks worth of garbage Infront of my house that now stinks horribly no notice of anything being late no call no answers just flat out nothing everything was good up untill like 3 weeks ago, they didn't even pick up all the garbage anyways there was stuff left behind eevrytime they got my garbage, what a garbage company lol we are done with you guys cancelled today and now doing it with stroup garbage company 85$ for unlimited trash bags per month and reliable peace and. They used to be a good company. Now my garbage hasn't been picked up in 2 weeks and my bill is paid. No one can get ahold of them to find out what is going on. No messages saying anything from them. Now I have rotting garbage that has sat in the heat for 2 weeks. Maggots and all. read more

if I could leave a negative star I would! my trash was never picked up and the people that work in the office just lie and say "oh we saw the cameras" which is BS! they never look into anything that their drivers are doing and they only look and see that everyone "else was picked up" yes because I am the only one on this particular street! it's an inconvenience for the drivers to come down my street well if that was the case then they should not have taken on my contract! What a garbage Trash service! Save your money if you have a choice! I don't have that option. the boro I live contracts with them! The leave trash behind in bins or in the road. I've included a pic of all the trash on my road one morning. Now this morning 3/5/21 the idiots broke my can. The collector overloaded one can by dumping another into it, he couldn't lift it. I have direct payments that come out of my bank account to pay my bill i have had that set up since they took over union city account. My garbage was not picked up on Feb 22 i called them and asked why and was told my bank card expired in Oct and they could not take a payment out of my account. First of all I used a routing number and a checking account number to set this up it has nothing to do with my bank card and second of all why did it take so long for them to let me know they could not get a payment out of my account, a warning would of been nice.To top it off I cannot get a hold a person there I leave a message and they called back and left a message for me There is not anyway to pay on there web page either There customer service is really bad. Same complaints are the others. We have had delayed garbage pickups 3 times in the last 6 weeks. Unacceptable. Sometimes we get a call about the delay and other times not. Really bad customer service - calls and emails are never returned. read more

You get what you pay for. Services were almost half what Waste Mgmt was, but they only pick up half the time supposed to! We now how a raccoon problem because since our trash has often been overflowing due to late pick ups/NO pick ups, they have discovered easy treats. I like many others switched to Racoon Refuse to save a buck. They seemed ok in the beginning things were running smooth. Then for some unknown reason they started to have delayed pickups with no explanation then now it has turned into no pickups for weeks and now its missed pickups. I'm out of town and was just informed by my wife that they came by tonight and completely skipped our house and got our neighbors garbage. I have tried numerous times to call. I have left messages I have emailed, noone there responds to any attempt to contact them. I'm at my wits end. Like many others on this post am going to have to beg Waste Management to take me back. I was told by another company that Racoon Refuse wouldn't be around much longer. Maybe they went out of business already and I didn't get the memo. THEY SUCK! read more

They miss trash pickup day as often as they make it. I had asked repeatedly for a big 96 gallon tote as animals kept getting into my and neighbors' bags, but they haven't had any available for years, apparently. Finally cancelled on them because they missed trash pick for 19 days in a row, and lied about when they would finally pick it up. They said they'd pick it up on Friday, about 12 days since the last pickup, but they then missed that too. They seem uninterested in improving their service. read more

I do realize that they have been dealing with medical issues and equipment issues and staffing issues... but... THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO VALID EXCUSE FOR NOT RETURNING PHONE CALLS OR RESPONDING TO EMAILS !!!! Since Columbus Day, in early October, not had any pickup. Timely payments made, as well as for this quarter. Have called more than once. Sent email Nov 2nd, of overflowing container, complaint timeline, and not been contacted. Sent complaint to owner yesterday, no response. Guessing the business name is under scrutiny now by my neighbors, township officials, regular traffic on my road, and drivers for Waste Management, Advanced Disposal, and Shippensville hauler. After all, the big container is neon green, labeled "Racoon Refuse", and fully visible in either direction for a quarter mile. Before October, never had a problem, and more than once, would not have container out. Yet, the following week the driver still came. Formerly raved a rate of 5...not now. read more

Just found out today they are closing without any notice and not refunding anyone!!!!! If I could give it a lower rating I would. They started out great. Now just week after week of no pickup and no communication from the company. Paid bill beginning of July for the July, august, sept quarter and only had 1 pick up. Just got a refund. read more

If I could rate in the negative I would. Missed and/or delayed garbage pick up for months. No refunds or discounts. Garbage cans swarmed with flies due to trash sitting by the road in over 75 degree heat daily. Incredibly unacceptable and unprofessional for a business. I understand the labor shortage and truck shortage, but prepare accordingly or adjust routes so this is not an ongoing issue. read more

Horrible service both on the lack of trash pick up and customer service, we rarely had a month go by where they picked up every week like they were supposed to they rarely emailed or called to let us know. They never answer or return calls my suggestion is do not use them, they cannot provide the services they are offering and you will regret it. read more

Wow, Wow, Wow, I think this company is going out of their way to go out of business. I'm contemplating calling the Police / Fire Department to do a welfare check and make sure everyone in the office is okay. I mean no one answers the phone, no one returns calls, no one answers e-mails...maybe they are being held hostage by ransom-ware. It was my bad that I switched to them in the first place. I waited a year after they began service in our area to be sure that RR was not a fly-by-night company. Oops, should have waited longer. After over 30 years with Wast Management and paying for their overpriced service and add-on fees...looks like I must go back and beg forgiveness and pay twice what RR promised on costing. I have been using their service since June 2020. I have had very inconsistent pick ups. They use a 3rd party for their payment service. I had set up through their website for re-occurring payments. On January 7th i received my first email from this 3rd party provider stating I had a balance due. On January 8th my garbage was not picked up. I made 4 attempts to reach Raccoon Refuse to resolve this. They did not answer my phone calls or emails. When my garbage did not pick up on January 14th i had called them 5 times in a row. Finally Morgan answered providing very poor customer service and giving me no direction on how to make a payment over the phone. Clearly a poorly organized refuse company. I immediately contracted a more reputable and dependable refuse company. read more

If i could give this company 0 stars, I WOULD. I paid them for services. They didnt pickup my garbage for 3 WEEKS!! Then sold my route to another company. they NEVER transfered my credit for them not picking up my garbage. Then told me it wasnt their responbillity anymore because they didnt own the route. THEY STOLE MY MONEY, AND HUNG UP ON ME whenever i tried to talk to them. Do not use they have only picked my trash up one time this month which they did not pick it all up and I have paid for the whole month. I have tried calling them multiple times but they do not answer the phone and will not return phone calls. I have used them for about a year now and they have missed me multiple times. read more

We have had Racoon Refuse for 3 years now. I absolutely love them. When there's a new driver, sometimes get get skipped but one phone call and they come right out and pick it up. Their prices are a little higher but it's worth every penny. Everyone is always so nice and polite without sounding or feeling fake. read more

I have both trash pick up and recycling with Raccoon Refuge. They are okay with trash pick up, but absolutely the worst at recycling pick up. In our area recycling is only picked up on the 1st and 3rd weeks. I have my recycling in a recycling bin, which has large recycling emblems on both sides and on the front it states "Recycling Only". However they either pick it up with the trash OR miss it entirely. Apparently the driver only knows to pick up recycling in a clear plastic bag, since my neighbors will get picked up. I gave called right after a missed pick up and promised that they will have driver swing back around. Never happens!! So tired of the calls to them for this issue. This is the worst refuge collection company I have ever had the dissatisfaction of dealing with. They are inconsistent with their collection times. One week they come at 2:00 a.m, the next week it is 4:00 p.m., and the week after that it is 5:00 a.m. In addition to the inconsistency, their drivers have taken two of our four refuge cans and disposed of them with our garbage. This is our property and not theirs to dispose of. The slight savings an individual, municipality, or business may find with Raccoon Refuse is not worth the headache of dealing with this poorly ran and managed business. Very bad service. Please think twice before you change current service or sign on. I have had the same problem(s) as everyone else. Despite my bill being paid in full every quarter with the recycle service, I have gone an entire month without a single recycle pick up. After I placed numerous called about the recycle service, they finally picked up the recyclables and left my trash for two weeks untouched. Trash pickup, to this point, is 80/20 (with 80% being no service). I find it amazing they keep saying they don't know why they forget my service despite being a customer for a year but they must have a great person in the billing department because the bill is on time, every time in the mail box!! We went with this service because they were priced better than other services but they have not shown up to pick up garbage 3 out of the 5 weeks we've had the service. When we call to notify them they always say someone will be here that day to pick up and nobody ever shows up. read more

We pay our bill as required (the postcard-sized bill that they throw in with junk mail) and they are constantly forgetting our pick up. In the past 4 weeks, our trash has been either ignored or they literally throw our trash cans around. Expensive trash cans that we paid for and don't overstuff. When we call to find out why the trash wasnt picked up, often times we have to leave a message that never gets returned. We use them bc there's no other choice. If you have a choice, use anything else. read more

I have used their service for 4 years. At no point in those years would I praise the service I received! Not only did they miss many pick ups they trash the containers left at the curbs. On July 23, 2021 they again missed a pick up. I called the office and the female told me that by the truck log it was not picked up for none payment. I asked her to look up my account where she realized I was paid up through August. She did apologize and said she would send someone out right away. No one came. When I called back the female that answered said my trash was not put out in time for the 23rds pick up. I told her I had outdoor cameras that would tell her different. She then proceeded to threaten me to cancel my service. I asked to speak with the owner and she refused, told me she would have someone out to pick it up and hung up on me. I waited and today July 30th the normal trash pick up day, my trash was again not picked up. All of my neighbors were picked up but mine was left. I am paid through to August. The poor customer service and now theft of funds paid with no service rendered is more than any customer should have to deal with. I would highly recommend not using their services! read more

We have had Raccoon Refuse for over a year now and this quarter will be the last. I have had to contact them nearly every week as I am constantly missed. I was even missed on their correction route last week and had to contact them a second time. This year I have only received my recycling pickup one time without calling, which is the only reason I switched. This week they missed trash and recycling again. Enough is enough, they would have to go out of their way to provide worse service. I am tired of calling, now emailing as they have let their voice mailbox fill up and they never answer the phone. They never pick up when supposed to, they have missed at least every other week since I started with them, everytime I call, email, and or Message them, its always an excuse about sick, truck not working, not enough people and had to double up on routes, ect, ect. and will try to get to us, never do till the following week and yet we pay for garbadge pickup that sits here for days. Other than that the people gave good speaking manners they just need to get things in working order and make sure routes are always picked up. read more

Their service stinks! I have to call them all the time because they haven't picked up my refuse. They also don't supply containers. As soon as this quarter's pay period is up, I am switching back to Waste Management. They cost a bit more but you get what you pay for! read more
