I loved the fact that a) he responded at all vs just ignoring the request, b) was upfront and honest about his timeline vs just taking the job and overextending himself. Once I told him that we were in no rush, and would be happy to wait, he proceeded to text back and forth with me helping me get an idea as to what the job might cost. He made recommendations about plants, etc....and all this without officially having secured my business. Towards the end of July, I reached back out to see what his timeline looked like. Again, he responded almost immediately. He apologized for not getting back to me sooner, and said he would come out to measure the area, and discuss the job in more detail. In my mind, he had absolutely nothing to apologizing for. He set a date to come out, came out exactly at the time he promised, and helped us figure out what would look good. He provided a written, detailed estimate, which he adhered to...we paid exactly what he quoted. On the day of the job, he showed up as promised and on time. He laid out all of the plants, and allowed us to move them around several times until we got everything exactly the way we wanted it. His team worked quickly and neatly. The end results are amazing! My HOA uses Kuhn's Lawn services and their work is very subpar. They whip through on mowers…read moresometimes tearing up the grass on the berms. They won't pick up any fallen large tree twigs and have killed many of my own plants. If they blow debris from the deck b/c it's a 50/50 chance they will remember, I think they are wearing a blindfold. They will lazily blow debris from deck floor only to have it land on the the deck furniture and leave it there. What? They take no pride in their work! The workers are polite and pleasant. They do seem to do better with the bigger jobs such as mulching our entire community or tree planting but the week to week landscaping is inconsistent and not worth the money. We will be shopping for a new contract.
