David Koenig is one of the rudest managers I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with…read more I came in today for an interview believing it was scheduled for 1:30 PM. It was actually scheduled for 1:00 PM, and I take 100% responsibility for looking at the wrong time. It was an honest mistake, and I have never been late to an interview before. I arrived around 1:20 PM and waited about 15 minutes before I finally had to stop an employee myself to ask for assistance. Eventually, David came over and informed me that my interview had been scheduled for 1:00. I immediately apologized and explained that I had accidentally looked at the wrong time. His response was, "Yeah, we aren't going to do this today," accompanied by a dismissive hand gesture, before simply walking away. I completely understand that being late to an interview can be inconvenient, and I would have understood if he had decided not to proceed with the interview. What I don't understand is the unnecessary disrespect and lack of professionalism in how he handled the situation. There was a much more professional way to communicate that the interview would need to be rescheduled or that they were no longer interested. I already felt terrible about making an honest mistake, and his attitude only made the situation worse. First impressions go both ways. If this is how management treats potential employees during an interview, it makes me question how employees are treated once they're actually hired.
