The food has always been good, and it's one of those places I enjoy coming back to whenever I'm in the mood for a good sandwich. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Rachel Combo on sourdough with provolone cheese, coleslaw on the side, and fries. I really enjoyed the sandwich, especially how generous they were with the pastrami. The meat was flavorful and paired really well with the melted cheese. Oddly enough, one of my favorite parts was actually the bread. It was nicely toasted with a buttery, crispy exterior that reminded me of a really good grilled cheese, except with a generous amount of pastrami. The fries were also a good portion and complemented the sandwich nicely. The combo came out to $20.70, which isn't necessarily cheap, but it's a pretty filling meal and I've always been happy with the quality here. The restaurant itself has a lot of character, with a casual atmosphere and plenty of seating. All the staff here are friendly! There's also a decent amount of parking, although it can get a little congested during busier times. I've generally never had much trouble finding a spot. It's also nice to see Feldman's getting some Michelin recognition. Having been a regular here for several years, I'm glad to see a local restaurant I've enjoyed for so long getting that kind of attention. Overall, Feldman's has been consistently good over the years, and I definitely plan to keep coming back. I noticed that my reward system for stacked showed that I have already used my reward but I didn't. They immediately brought out a manager and he was so friendly and helpful. For approximately 15 of these 25 minutes we sat at the window and watched the guy who took our order put parchment paper on baking sheets. In weather over 100 degrees. Our drinks initially arrived without straws. None of our sandwiches were labeled. Or, to be more precise, all four had "Kickin' Ranch" stickers on them, and maybe two of them had a faint smear of black marker on the paper. We had to open all four to find out which was which. We waited ten minutes in line to order, but that wasn't enough to warn us and it really didn't seem so bad. No warnings from employees were given to us about how long this would take. As we left the register towards the seating area, I counted 7 unbussed tables- we were forced to sit at the only table without either ample trash or people. I only saw two employees, neither of whom moved with any urgency- more of a lazy afternoon pace. The table of teenagers next to us exclaimed to one of them, "What is going on in the kitchen back there?!" Don't get me wrong, everyone was kind, just...not at all service-oriented towards a very hungry crowd. I did finally see some tables "bussed," but they were not wiped down or disinfected in any way. Which doesn't give me hope for the cleanliness of the rest of the place. At minute 45 of waiting, my husband went to ask what is going on, but had to wait in a line to do so. At one hour, we finally got to the register and said, "If you haven't even started our food yet, we'd love a refund." We got a refund. Hallelujah. They were kind about that But that also means we had waited for our food for an entire hour and they still hadn't even started it or come out to explain- nothing. Not even an apology. What we did get was a quiet resignation. We felt really bad for the girl working the register. I rated the food 3 stars bc I know it's good in Ohio, but we didn't actually ever get any served to us. But the worst part is knowing a place I love from Ohio is failing me. An hour and a half (30 min round trip and an hour of waiting) of my life I'll never get back.
