Moving Day! I…read morereceived my U-Haul here just 2 days prior to my moving date. I had changed my moving date, and specifically requested a 10' Truck with a Tow Dolley for my move. The locations in Killeen didn't have my requested truck, so I had to drive 30 min to Gatesville to receive my truck. U-Haul gave me 30 free miles to compensate for the drive. The employee on site was very compassionate, helpful, and assisted my dad and I with the equipment. It was a bit of a drive, but the assistance and requested equipment greatly assisted me with my move.

I needed a Tow Dolly, but the software said be back by 3:45 pm. I was moving my Mom's car to transmission shop in Gatesville. The signage was very hard to find as we passed by and turned around.. We got the Tow-Dolly at 9:40am, and got back by 1:30ish. I got back $16.00 bucks as my deposit. I stepped into some fire ant mounds and got bit on my legs.. Yet, I took photos of the tow dolly and brought it back. Me and my friend now have to re-rent the tow dolly to move another car to part puller company for some cash.. My first real experience dealing with U-Haul.. However, I rather go with B&W than Vernon's in Evant.

Upon going to my unit I found the security gate wide open, the electronic keypad to secure climate controlled units removed, and the entry door that is lot lockable. When I inquired about these things they just say they are working on them. Perfect storm for a major successful and undetectable burglary to clients. Awful security with nothing but excuses and no callbacks when asked to return my calls. I even contacted the regional manager, Brandy about this overall problem and she said she would get back to me that day, she ghosted me too. I guess the local manager where I rented learned her job well from "Brandy". Infested with rats/or mice, many insects. They advertise that they spray but if they did I can't imagine the problem would be this bad in units. There are live mouse traps outside the building but the problem is inside the units. I have given them three weeks to secure the property and call me back to discuss issues, they have failed my request. When I went in to cancel my rental unit and confront Abby all she could say is "oh sorry". Do better Abby and Ideal Storage. I sure hope that anyone contemplating renting from an Ideal Storage see's this rating. I would give this company a ZERO rating if it was available, but a one star is as low as I can go. Also, I moved out five days before the end of the month and asked for a credit. Abby tells me that they only prorate they don't give back when one moves out before the end of the month they have paid in full for. Let that sink in when it comes to good business practices NOT!
