Here's our experience. 1) Food: The cod tongue was the best dish of our trip according to my friend. The two sauces it comes with were unique and brought out the taste. The mushroom pasta was tasty as well. The noodles were a tiny but dry, but overall good. 2) Drinks: We ordered their two sours and enjoyed both- a raspberry and a blueberry one. 3) Service: Our server was quick and personable. He had a good energy about him. 4) Space: It's in an old building with beautiful decorations, lights, and atmosphere. The restrooms come with toothpicks, floss, and mouthwash. 5) Area: The little bay in Quidi Vidi is beautiful with a number of shops around it. If you want a nightcap, walk to Quidi Vidi Brewery for their sour ales and iceberg beer. There are a few small lots to park nearby, but they fill up fast.

I chose the kettle chips for my side, and they tasted house made. Very delicious! The only thing I didn't like about this burger was the price tag = $22. Hubby had the seafood chowder for $17 and it was enough for a full meal. He said the chowder was very flavorful and full of seafood. He was in heaven! We both ordered a Quidi Vidi 1892 amber ale on draft. They only had 7 beers on tap and I wished that they had a medium or dark beer, but this area doesn't seem to be big on that. The service at Leo's is what you'd expect at any down home fish and chips; friendly and quick! Everyone is "me love", "darlin", or whatever sweet pet name the waitress feeling like calling you! The food is great! Albeit greasy, but maybe you should know that before coming in to dine. It's deep fried, all of it, so it's well... going to be greasy! The chips are friend to perfection, crispy and fluffy all in one. And the fish was in a nice light batter that carried the fish just so. I prefer the dressing and gravy here over the competitor, but over all it's on par. Oh, and the paper place mat adds to the nostalgia that this place represents. I'm excited to come back soon!

How sweet is that? :) They come in a little paper takeout box like real Fish and Chips would, but they are actually fish-shaped chocolates and kettle cooked potato chips drizzled with chocolate. I feel like chocolate covered chips is an East Coast thing. The first time I saw chocolate covered potato chips was in Prince Edward Island and they called them Cow Chips, lol. Anyway, they are salty and sweet and a bit addictive. The chocolate is smooth and creamy. The chocolate fish is big, so was broken in half in order to fit the box. I think it would have been more aesthetically pleasing if the company made smaller fish, so you'd have whole fish. Nonetheless, it was a tasty treat. The packaging, while fun and kitschy, was not too functional, because since it's not air-tight, the chips weren't as crispy. It looks like the Newfoundland Chocolate Company is popular in Newfoundland, with several locations. I'll need to check them out if I find myself there in the future :)
