The staff was incredibly friendly and even offered to take pictures for us, which we really appreciated. There was also a small farm area with sheep and chickens that was fun to visit, and several food trucks with plenty of tasty options. The farm was well organized, clean, and full of great photo opportunities. We also noticed they have other seasonal events throughout the year, like strawberry and blueberry picking, which gives us another reason to come back. As it turned out, the experience could not have been more positive! It's a beautiful and well-maintained property with ample parking. The alpaca stables (males in one, females in the other) were very clean, and the 26 alpacas are clearly loved and cared for. They were gorgeous, friendly, and healthy. The staff, mostly (if not all) volunteers, were lovely, from the young adult (late teens, early 20s) guides who accompanied us on the 20-minute walk with our assigned alpacas, to the senior ladies working in the gift shop. The gift shop has a wide range of lavender and alpaca wool products, as well as related themed products. I would up spending $36 on a variety of items, some of which were perfect, low-cost gifts. In response to the TripAdvisor complaints about items being "expensive," I found the prices to be reasonable and normal for homemade, hand-made, and locally sourced items, as well as for specialty items made elsewhere. I can't say enough positive things about the guides who accompanied my friend and I on the walk, and the young man who gave the entire group on our scheduled walk the preliminary background information about the alpacas and what we might expect on the walk. They did an excellent job and were very friendly and helpful. At the end of the walk they make time for pictures to be taken, and the animals seem to know the drill quite well because they obliged without a fuss on a very hot day. Overall I give this experience a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend it for all ages.

And a natural playscape outdoors. There's also a bunch of fairy houses throughout the property that girl scouts donated. And lots of trails through the forest. They also have Magic Mornings for ages 2-4 Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays - but register ahead as they only have a certain amount of spots each day (it's seasonal - they have in fall and spring but not summer - see website). It's an hour class for $10 and includes a snack, craft, nature walk etc. They usually pull out an animal each class. It's great to get some time in nature with other kids. In summer, they have a full week of Magic Mornings in their Itty Bitty Briar Camp. Ms. Heidi teaches it and she is just great. They have a different theme every day such as sun, water, clouds etc and there's an activity each day (visit pond and catch tadpoles, water play, craft pertaining to theme). They have preschool pioneers for ages 4-5 and summer camp for older kids for a week in late June. *Just beware in June that parking is limited due to school field trips and you may not fit in either of the lots; you may have to park out front of the house to the left (which is fine - she just doesn't want buses idling there) They also have field trips to gardens and to the shore, classes for seniors, family nature nights, hot smores nights... Only negative (besides parking, which they can't really control), is the "snacks" for kids at Magic Mornings aren't the healthiest. One was cinnamon sugar graham crackers with whipped cream- regular would have been fine. 2 days were cheddar gold fish. Another day was blue jello with whipped cream. And some red licorice - the kind that whips. Fruit Loops were used for colors. So, if you don't like your child eating sugar, let them know you have a dietary restriction or bring your own snack (snack time is ~10 min and probably not needed but the kids always love snack time!). Some options that would be healthier and just as easy would be pretzel sticks, fruit, crackers, popcorn, veggies, string cheese...but I guess those all cost more besides pretzels/crackers/popcorn.

When you first pull up, it looked kind of small, but in actuality, they have four patches of lavender so it was pretty substantial. It was $21 to pick a bunch that would fit around the plastic tie they gave you. Picking is hard work in 90 degree heat so we wound up only picking one bunch and sharing the lavender. They said to dry it upside down to keep the color and shape. Highly recommend! Pro tip: go find a real restroom before you arrive because there are no restrooms. Only a porta potty but it did not smell bad. But what if someone has an accident over there one of these days? Just saying.

We arrived about 1pm and there was a steady stream of folks coming and going. Check-in process was very straightforward (showed QR code from previously purchased ticket). Highly recommend getting your tickets ahead of time online for a timed (but not strict at all) ticket. We were not interested in the boats, the tractor (dusty!) rides, we were just focused on the tulips. $1 per tulip if you pick more than 10 $2 per tulip if you pick less than 10 There were 4-5 different large sections that had row up on row of different varieties and colors of tulips. Stations with plastic containers to assist you with holding the tulips you've picked, then tables with rolls of brown paper to wrap your tulips and rubber band the bouquets. Checkout was super fast and easy and friendly, there are food trucks in a couple different spots (we got fruit smoothies which were excellent). All in all I had a really great time and look forward to returning for the sunflowers and zinnias!
