I got an adjustment and it was the most painful adjustment that I've ever had 10 hrs. later lasting for several days. I have had a lower back issue for years and had many adjustments in the past without having this much pain. His adjustment was unlike anything that any other chiropractor has done to relieve my back pain in the past to include others in his practice and definitely made things worse, not better! I thought this practice would be great based on my first few visits but I would not recommend this practice based on my experience with Dr. Middleton.

Perfect, I thought! I'm so excited! so excited I was sharing this news with everyone I encountered. I went twice, two days in a row, and was scheduled for a 3rd day in a row but I canceled due to new pain. I have never had lower back pain until he said my lower back was mid-aligned and I trusted him and his professional opinions and I laid in his hands. That night, after day 2, i was on the floor crying. I felt like the wind was knocked out of me and like I was going to throw up. throbbing pulsing pain. chat gpt told me to go to the emergency room. I messaged the office about my new pain, asked how to get out of the pain and went to bed instead of the ER. the following day, i called to get communication on this. she recommended I come in to be adjusted- keep the appointment. alarm bells in my head were going off- no-this is wrong- don't go. I was trusting they knew what was best for me. (5 days later to today-it still hurts btw...it shouldn't hurt more than one day) and I had an appointment today that I just came from. I just tried asking him well, maybe it didn't need to be aligned and you did and so it got angry and needs to heal. he reccomended that I come back tomorro. I had to explain I never thought that, only maybe my lower back didn't need an alignment. again-he only smiled and continued to cross his arms. I felt like he just wanted my insurance money. this interaction solidified that concern. I then tried better understanding the situation at the front desk, lisa, she couldn't care less that I had new pain, caused from the alignmen. not to mention I said my left collarbone was funky. he aligned the right collarbone. when I asked about ok what about the left side where it hurts? he said, "oh. After my chiropractor of 25 years retired, I started a search for another doctor/practice in the greater seacoast area. After a few less than good rounds of visits with different doctors, a friend suggested I try Great Works. Through their website I learned about a very different approach to chiropractic care - Chiropractic Neurology - The website was very informative, so I made an appointment. After just a few weeks of care I was experiencing such welcome relief not only in my backpain, but also in areas I would never have thought could be improved by this type of care. For the first time in years, I CAN RUN AGAIN. I'm in my 70's. I thought it was because my muscles were just too stiff. I learned it was not the muscles, but the impaired flow of signals to the muscles. The combination of adjustments, neurological stimulus equipment, and very specific exercises have restored a lot. Great Works testing procedure is different and thorough. They are very focused on measurable results throughout the course of care, which is something unusual in a medical field. Another bonus is their well-run, and unorthodox office. The admin. team is both warmly hospitable and extremely efficient - which means there is rarely a wait of more than a few minutes, and often no wait at all.
