I was a walk in with no appointment- but they did'nt seem to mind at all! The stylist they assigned to me , Abi, was super friendly and the consultation went pretty well.. I showed her a pic of what i wanted and she seemed to immediately understand! She convinced me to have a treatment along with my wash and I agreed.. I was really nervous that she would take off more than i wanted but she was even more cautious than i was and kept checking with me thru out the haircut if the length she was taking off was ok.. I loved the hair cut she gave me and I will definately be going back there for more in the future! The only thing i could'nt fathom was that she had never heard of rebonding of hair! I have rebonded hair and i was asking her to recommend a place where i could touch up the roots ( Rush does'nt do it) and she said she had never heard of it!!!!

I usually get a full service from her which includes washing, treatments, root tint and full tint, the occasional highlights and of course her impeccable cut and styling. She is top notch in every single one of her services. I am not big on hair extensions but she does my friend's extensions and she always looks stunning for weeks and weeks after her visit. All in all this is by far one of the best hair experts in town.

My hair was left in a terrible condition and broke off half way down its length. I have spent two years trying to sort this out. I have not been able to colour it since, as the condition of the hair left is so bad. My crowning glory was ruined and it was not cheap either! I would steer clear.

If a student cuts your hair, it's a cheaper fee than the more experienced staff but no worry - they won't do a bad chop job on your tresses. I am extremely stressed about my hair being cut right after traumatic experiences having bad layers that make me look like I walked off the set of the Brady Bunch (seriously). The place is nicely decorated and is a bit tiny, but everybody inside is happy to see you come in and are ready to serve you from the minute you walk in the door. There is ample seating and enough magazines to look up your new look or drool over models while awaiting your appointment to start. When I say students cut your hair here, they're not the runts of beauty school. These individuals know how to wash, dry, style, and cut your hair properly and with care. I left with bouncy, beautiful hair that I loved so much that I made an appointment for them to give me a great blow out and style before a wedding a week or two later. I had a great experience both times I went and if I ever need a hair cut in Uxbridge again and want to save myself a few pounds, I'll head there. I haven't had an experience that good in a salon that utilizes students at home. It stood out to me. I wish that it wasn't so cramped, but that can't be helped so I can't knock it. And the location is a plus. I can get my hair done, hop on the tube, and show off my new haircut whenever I see family or friends on the other side of the station. Give it a try. I can't give it a four star because it's not the best salon I've ever been to, but for what I got, I was really happy.

I chose this salon because I pass through Uxbridge to visit the shopping centre. I am fed up of paying ridiculous amounts of money to have my hair cut in chain brand salons - so I thought I'd give Short n Curlys a go. The decor is a little dated - but give it five years and you'll be calling it retro. What is important to me is that I enjoyed lovely service in a place that feels part of the community. It's a very happy team and a nice environment to be in - and a wonderful, wonderful cut.
