I'll probably get in trouble for this review, but that's okay. Good Friday and the bar is packed. Two bartenders. That's all. Bartenders are doing prep work that should have been done before their shift started (like cutting limes) and moving with little sense of urgency while patrons stood in line for drinks. I stood at the bar for 30 minutes before I had to leave to use the restroom. Came back and waited another fifteen minutes. As I stood there, I watched the bartenders take other people in line that just walked up. I finally said something to one of the bartenders that they needed to focus on their people that were waiting in line the longest. They get mad. They even have their bouncer say something to me. Don't get me wrong...I'm a semi-regular at this bar, and I think the people here are great. I mean, they really are. Especially the patrons. But when push comes to shove, if you can't get drinks in the hands of your patrons quicker than half an hour, people will sooner or later start to go somewhere else. I go here to drink beer and sing karaoke. Karaoke drives bar sales. But if I can't drink, I'm not going to sing. And if I can't sing, I've got other places to go on a Friday night that will get me a drink a lot faster than 30 minutes. They may be in Hickory or Gastonia, but sooner or later, someone's going to do better and people will go there. It's the nature of the beast Bottom line: This is pretty much the only karaoke gig in town, so if that's the most important thing to you, this is it. Fridays are packed and you're lucky to sing two songs. If all you want is a cold beer, try another bar. You'll be better off. Advice to the bar? Pay attention to who was at the bar first. Serve them first. Most people will be cool and let others go ahead of them if they know they have been waiting longer and...it's just common courtesy. read more
