This place is exactly what it claims to be: an old-style drive-in with a walk up counter and a few picnic tables for customers who want to eat there. The service was...serviceable. The woman at the counter wasn't very nice, but she took our orders fine. They didn't put my dad's shake out with his meal so we had to ask for it, which seemed to displease her. The food was good. Nothing special but it filled us up and it wasn't marked up to insane prices like a lot of restaurants in the area. The fries were seasoned and a nice-sized portion. The burgers were alright. Definitely tasty enough that we finished them. The shake was good too! Not too chocolatey and very thick. One of my friends got a pork sandwich and polished it off in a matter of minutes. So, would I recommend Rebel Dip? The answer is...probably? If a better smashburger place opened up, it would be a no based on the food alone, but it's kind of worth it just for the experience.

I usually get a combo of a sandwich and soup or salad, and they now offer a trio option if you want some of each. In addition they have sides and desserts like cake slices or their amazing peanut butter rice crispy treats. They also offer pizzas with various toppings. My two favorites are the Newk's Club or the Turkey Avocado. Everything is made to order and you can see it all done right behind the counter, then they will bring it out to you. I appreciate that the soups are lower in calories, as are most of the salads. I really like the veggies that go in the greek salad, too. Newk's also has some of the best homemade pimento cheese and chicken salad around. Neither are like what you'd normally find at a grocery store. We've often bought containers of these to go so we can take home to enjoy. My only complaint is that you'll come out of there smelling like a toaster because of the bread smell. It's not bad but it seems to permeate whatever I'm wearing and I find that annoying when I smell like a restaurant the rest of the day. Subways is bad about this, too. The fries are good and plentiful and always seasoned. Sometimes I get an apple pie side and it has always been warm and crispy. My go-to is the Sweet and Spicy Bacon Burger, and my second favorite (when they have it) is the Mushroom Swiss Burger. Their breakfast taquitos are also great and at least 2-3x bigger than the burritos at McDonald's. The problem with this location is the service. It is notoriously slow, like completely unacceptable for a drive-thru location. I regularly spend a solid 30 minutes waiting in line here. They have two windows, but the second is never open, which tells me they are perpetually understaffed here. More than one occasion, I have spent nearly an hour waiting in the drive thru line because you get trapped inside the loop. The entrance forces you into a narrow curving lane beside a fence, and you simply can't get out if there are cars in front of and behind you. Otherwise, they'd probably have more people drive off because they are tired of waiting. I don't know what is going on here, but it has been that way for years. The food is so good that I've just accepted it won't be fast, and on the rare occasion that I roll through the line like most any other drive thru, I feel like buying a lottery ticket on the way home. Corporate...management...somebody fix this!
