We visited Mike Hess Brewing in Seaport Village. I wrote a review for Mike Hess, and our overall experience of the venue was just okay. I did make mention of our love for the food that we had that day. Our meals that day were 5-star for sure. Quiero Tacos was solely responsible for Mike Hess Brewing getting 4-stars from me rather than two or three. I thought it only fair to write a separate review for Quiero Tacos. Amazing Tacos we had: Spicy Shrimp Taco grilled shrimp marinated with chili de árbol topped with Pico de Gallo over melted asadero cheese finished with house lime and chipotle aioli on a flour tortilla. I loved this taco. Perfect shrimp, perfectly spicy. And only $4.75! Crispy Shrimp Taco shrimp, bacon and cheese within a crispy rolled corn tortilla topped with Pico de Gallo, cabbage and avocado, drizzled with spicy jalapeno salsa and crema fresca over melted asadero cheese on a flour tortilla. Each shrimp was like a little rolled taco all stuffed inside of a flour tortilla. Becky loved it! I had one of the shrimp and it was so good! My mom hates tacos but after she ate the tacos here, she's been clamoring to go back (we live in LA!). The taco skins here remind me of something between a mix of naan and chinese scallion pancakes which works really well and is pretty unique! If you have low spice tolerance, ask for salsa on the side, cuz the salsa here definitely has that fire. The craft sodas are super refreshing too and you can sit on the rooftop with beautiful ocean views. Good service as well. This place is hard to find. Unless you're from the area, this was quick tricky to find as it's connected to Mike Hess Brewing. We must have gotten there at a good time since the line to order got longer and longer. We ordered the chicken nachos, tostada, double IPA and one of the local sodas. We were given a number to bring to our table. We sat outside with the water view. Both drinks were good but it took awhile for our food to arrive - maybe 20 mins. One good thing was this homemade tortilla chips. The nachos was average and could be skipped. Our favorite though were the tostadas. The fish was fresh and topped with onions and avocados with some spicy sauce. read more

The mahi mahi ceviche was very fishy, I had a few bites and left the rest. The guac was terrible, not real guac, it's a processed mush of some sort. I came here on a Monday night after walking around the Seaport Village area. This place is tucked along the walkway near the water. There is a brewery (Mike Hess Brewing) connected to this restaurant. I ordered the Crispy Shrimp Taco, Surf & Turf Taco, and the Fish & Chips. The tacos were both delicious and I realized after I ordered them that they were made with homemade tortillas! They also have several different salsas that can add some spiciness to the tacos. The fish and chips were crispy and delicious. The fries were nice and crispy and had cotija cheese and green onion topped on it. The service was good and it's a restaurant where you pay first. Delicious little spot on the water! My friends and I came in for a wedding and found this spot on the water. It was slightly hard to find and I only knew it was inside the brewery because of other Yelp reviews I read. I got the shrimp taco and the fish taco. Both were light delicious and flavorful. I also had the mango margarita slushy - so I think it was a brewery item and not a Quiero taco problem - but it had no flavor at all... Excellent tacos and, when paired with Mike Hess Brewing, a nice experience. Came here with the family on Christmas Eve. Everyone was hungry and it hit the spot. We got lots of tacos, including one we forgot we ordered lol. All were excellent and the tortillas were thick enough to hold up. Carnitas and the fish were my favorite. We also got fish and chips, ceviche, and a quesadilla. Order at the bar and go upstairs to dine. They will bring it to you if the wait staff is note there. Trust me that the atmosphere is worth it. This place reminds me a lot of city tacos. It's inside Mike Hess brewery. You order inside and eat on the patio. The patio faces the harbor so it's pretty nice. I was happy with a few veggie options. I got the portobello and zucchini tacos. Bothe were delicious. It's inside seaport village which is a little tourist trap place with expensive parking so you kinda have to want to wander around the village to make it worth it. Stopped by for a quick bite as hubby wanted their micro brewed beer. And I opted for some tacos. Note there is a downstairs which is right off the pedestrian seaport pathway, which gets so crowded and there is an upstairs which is accessible from the back of the building, which had no lines and open tables! You order tacos à la carte, under $5 each, but they are large. The flavor of one of my tacos (PORTSIDE ZUCCHINI) was fab. Loved the blistered tomatoes. Portabella Playero was huge, but a bit blander. The corn tortillas were handmade and really tasty. The guacamole was underseasoned - but hey, it's $6.25 for a bunch of chips and guac and you're looking at the harbor! My out of town friend was very impressed by the flavors of his tacos (he got some meat ones too). Definitely a super place for a San Diegan or a tourist to enjoy the harbor and the atmosphere of Seaport Village, in a chill spot, for not a lot of $$. read more

Why 5 stars? Because I was just so happy to be here. --- --- --- After a long work week of constant travel, San Diego was our last stop. I had time for a quick lunch, and knew I wanted tacos. I nearly went into the Gaslamp to another place with great ratings, but I spotted Quiero Tacos at the last minute. While they didn't have as many reviews, people seemed to love it, but most importantly, I could sit on the water as I engorged myself with meat-filled tortillas. YES. I ordered at the counter and grabbed a spot outside, with a perfect ocean view. I will admit, I pretty much knew for sure at that moment that my review was going to consist of 5-stars, regardless of what the tacos tasted like. But the good news is, a couple of them were excellent, scenery aside. The Mike Hess fish taco and the Quesa Birria Tapatia were basically perfect tacos. If I could go back, I would have just ordered two of each of these and called it a day. In the spirit of fairness, I did not love the Hawaiian Chorizo or the Carne Asada tacos, but again, I was already about 93% of my to 5-stars because I even saw those tacos on my plate. I'm so glad I came here and I'm about *this* close to moving to San Diego. I may never leave. read more

We enjoyed lunch at Quiero Tacos inside Mike Hess on a Friday afternoon. Upstairs was packed with people so we ended up downstairs. The view wasn't quite as amazing, but still very nice. Service was prompt and polite, although there was a bit of a wait for our food. Everyone was able to order different tacos, and there wasn't a dud in the bunch. We had fish, shrimp, carnitas, and birria. My tacos were great, the fish one was remarkably tasty. I've never had a fish taco in a flour tortilla, and it was crisped up so nicely. My wife and I were in SD for 4 days for a work conference, and on the 1st day of the conference, we had a lunch break. The Seaport Village is adjacent to the Grand Hyatt where we were for the conference, so we looked around for some local fare. Specifically seafood. We couldn't have picked a better place for that! Though the line was a little lengthy, we ordered within 10 minutes, and had our food within 6 min of ordering. The view was fantastic, and the facilities were clean. We ordered fish and quesabirria tacos, while our co-workers ordered ceviche and nachos. Everyone enjoyed their orders, and I particularly think these were top 5 fish tacos I've ever had. The quesabirria was also very tasty as well. For being in SD during the summer when inflation was running rampant, together all 4 of us spent about $40 with 3 drinks. I totally recommend! read more

Great spot to dine. Easy order and seat yourself ordeal. Impressive and extensive menu. We ordered a wide array of food to share. On weekends they have live music which is nice to have especially seated outdoor lookin out the bay. For food there we're a few hits and misses. So fan favorites were the Quesi Birria, belly cubes, fish taco , fish and chips The others were ok. My biggest miss was their fries (carne asada fries, fries from fish n chips, carne asada burrito) the fries here were undercooked, cold and soft. I ate here three times while in town for TwitchCon 2022 (that's a stretch, it's what brought me to town but I didn't actually attend)! I was staying at the hotel nearby, and saw some rave reviews about this place. The signage wasn't super obvious to me, so I ended up dining upstairs twice before I realized downstairs has the same menu! I LOVED the fish taco, they have some great veggie options, and overall it's super affordable for solid tacos with a waterfront view. Quiero Tacos has opened its doors in Mike Hess Brewery at Seaport Village. They will be here for awhile until they open their brick and motor in Imperial beach, but I do hope they keep this small version of themselves at the brewery as well. Why, because tasty beer for Hess and tasty tacos from Quiero, makes for some tasty double fisting! On the weekend, they are also open for breakfast. As a result, you can order some "Sunshine Tacos" or breakfast tacos in the form of a take on Huevos Rancheros. Although these tacos did not come with that creamy ranchero sauce, they were quite good to say the least. You can order your eggs to order, so I had them over medium, which they cooked on point. The tacos came with freshly sliced avocado, that rocks, a sprinkling of pico de gallo, that's always good, and a little smear of refied beans which were nice. What the tacos were missing was a nice sprinkling of queso seco or a dry grated cheese right on top. I would of been happy with some Cotija or a milder queso fresco. That would of been just grand. The tacos came on a terrific yellow corn hand made tortilla. The fluffy warm griddled tortilla made all the difference with these tacos. Good stuff indeed. The tacos were $3 a piece. The ladies who took my order via Mike Hess were very nice and so was the young lady who works at Quiero Tacos and brought my food out. read more

Great tacos! Loved the quesi birria tapatia (au jus) taco. Also got the esquite which was good but way too salty for us. Too much tajin unless they add salt too? Also I think there were spicy Cheetos on it? Not bad, but I couldn't tell for sure ‍ The churros were the best I've had in San Diego. What a great location for a casual taco stop. The spot is right next to the ocean and there was some live music to definitely keep up the fun vibes. The place got busy pretty quickly during dinner time and I was told the wait for food could take up to 45 minutes.After ordering, it actually didn't take that long to get our order. I believe our full order came out around 15-20 minutes. I got to eat with a large group so we got to try a bunch of different items. The stand out items would be the Birria Tapatia, Fish Taco and the meat cubes. The food here was delicious but unfortunately anything that had french fries was absolutely horrible. The fries were cold, soggy and poorly seasoned. I love french fries and was shocked on how bad they were. I would stick with the tacos and avoid anything with fries. read more
