Although not sure whether that would be an improvement. That said, my daughter absolutely loves the place. There are plenty of rides for all ages and although the place has a shabby charm to it you can spend several hours of family fun there. Prices are about the level you would expect although they have an antiquated ticket system which harks back to the 70's. In conclusion this is about as good as it gets in Kettering. Anything better and the locals would just ruin it!

The rides were ideal for usI'm not a fan of big rides so I could enjoy all the younger rides ha. The kids aged 8 and 4 loved itthey went on nearly all the rideswe loved the peddling helicopters and the ice rink was great. It was a nice mix of tradional and current. The staff were friendly and the food was reasonably priced, especially for the portion size and not a rip off like similar places. The 'free' park area is great too. Will definately go back

The arcade machines are in excellent condition and are fair unlike some you can encounter. It is colourful and loud, just as children like it. The road has parking space as well which makes thing seven better. For those wanting to visit Golden Sands, it has its very own car park. For little kids, they can race in karts outside. Golden Sands also has a cash machine and an over 18's slot section. Collect tickets and win prizes hanging on the ceiling. I went for a Super Mario toy. Worth a visit if you are in New Hunstanton.

Have done well to survive the tough economic climate recently, and it's a credit to them that they haven't shut their doors though closing times have got a little earlier in recent years. There you can go sailing, windsurfing and kayaking or have a days relaxing fishing. Day and season tickets are available for the lakes - there are two, a large and small. The small lake has less 'traffic' on it and is a quieter days fishing. There are hiring facilities for the water sports and you can pay for lessons. We've been a few time to use the caravan and camping site located on the side of the waters edge. The pitches aren't massive but it's not bad for a weekend. There are good washing and shower facilities for all who are camping. They have a small shop but it's not got loads in for the camper, I'd recommend bringing what you need. There is also a bar but I thought it was a bit expensive. For an afternoon it's a nice day out - there is a fairly good play area, space to kick a ball, a walk round the lake etc. I think it's only about £2 to get in. Outside the park, there is the town of Market Bosworth, Shackerstone Railway, Twycross Zoo and Bosworth Battlefield. Every year they host events such as the raft race or Hinckley half mararthon.

There's a great…read moreselection of fruit machines and penny-push machines available in one half of the hall which caters mainly for the adults. The other half of the hall is devoted to more children-friendly amusements - games of skill - like throwing balls into baskets, through holes etc. My kids love the place and constantly pester me to take them for a visit. The chidren's machines 'pay out' in strips of tokens - the better you play the games the more tokens you get - these tokens can then be exchanged for prizes at the central money-exchange booth - though beware you do need quite a few tokens before you can 'win' anything half-decent. But it's not an expensive place - a few pounds go a long way and it's a godsend when the weather is bad. Recommended.

Then, like the proverbial buses, a couple of places came along at once - Cheeky Monkeys' Playbarn and Funky Funhouse. Funky Funhouse has a lot going for it - it's big, has lots of slides & swings etc, as well as separate areas for younger ones, plenty of space for adults to sit down and serves food and drinks for those that want. It is also easily accessible by car and conveniently located just outside the centre of Cambridge. Downsides ? None really. Prices (both for entry and refreshments) are reasonable, the toilets are clean and they do not allow the place to get overcrowded. The only mildly annoying things are: - kids are more likely to pick up some kind of bug after visiting, but that's just a fact of life - occasionally (especially on a wet weekend), you have to queue to get in, but again that's just a sign of how popular and successful it is Other than that, it just makes entertaing the kids a whole lot easier - they also do birthday parties for those of us who cannot face the idea of having our homes invaded by large numbers of over-excitable little monsters who have drunk too much orange squash.
