Ever since I moved to Maginhawa, I have settle with the laundry shop right in front of my house. They do a great job of taking care of my clothes, but since they are a commercial laundry and dry cleaning service, and they go through a ton of dirty laundry every day, I am still pretty uncomfortable about the fact that they wash my clothes in the same machines that they have washed other clothes with - not that I'm fussy or "maarte", but I'd rather enjoy my clothes that haven't gone through the dirt and the bacteria of other people.
I decided to give Quicklean a try because i saw a friend coming out of there, and she told me that they end up saving a lot of money with the DIY laundry service. The shop operates pretty much just like the coin-operated laundromats that we see in the movies. If you have time to wash your own laundry, do it here because the place is very convenient. The bulk washing machines are quite huge, and you pay for each machine that you use, unlike other shops wherein you pay per kilo. So you do end up saving money because you can cram quite a lot of clothes into each washing machine. You can bring your own detergent, bleach and fabric softener, or you can buy it from there. After washing, you pop your clothes into the dryer and wait until they come out wrinkle-free, after which you proceed to the folding tables to fold your own laundry.
Though everything else is spotless and clean, and the music that they play is great, the airconditioning just couldn't handle the heat from the dryers. I was sweating the entire time I was there. However, they also have fast WiFi and I sat down there with my computer waiting for my clothes to finish running through the wash and dry cycles. I think i just have to figure out how to wash efficiently so that I make the most out of each machine, but I'll definitely be back. read more
