Duh.... if you know, you know. This simple neighborhood convenience store has become a destination of indie film fans world wide. I'm sure the staff gets annoyed by the "customers" fanboying out, taking endless pictures and asking the "clerk" if he is indeed supposed to be there today?, but I've never seen anyone let it show. If you're in the area make sure you stop in and then check all the other View Askew related points of interest!

Noel Westerlind likes Quick Stop. Very clean and easy to buy things. Some of the Quick Stops have gas and it is easy to pop in and grab your milk or lottery tickets and go off to your destinations. I like quick stop. Quickstop is bigger and clean your the end all the Mike's stores locally, and they have a better selection and a larger quantity of goods. Quickstop and 7-Eleven I do not have decaf coffee overnight that is the only thing I fault them for. Noel Westerlind likes Is decaf coffee at night and has to go to Wawa because they're the only place that has decalf coffee overnight.l

You know what, I'm guilty as charged. About 5 years ago, I did the whole "take the pictures outside of the Quick Stop thing" too. Yes, I'm a Kevin Smith junkie, and I can quote Clerks with the best of them. So why am I reviewing it now? Well, why the hell not? I will say that I enjoyed seeing it. It gave me the opportunity to remember something that I really enjoyed for a few minutes of my life. And yes, I bought a Gatorade there. I had to. Just to say that i did. (And if you don't know why I chose Gatorade, you need to go back to the movie and refresh your memory.) I agree with what others have said. If you go there to be a fan dork like me, at least buy something.

If you're a fan of of Kevin Smith's movies, then you have to check out the location that started them all! The Quick Stop is a typical convenience store, you've been to one, you've been to them all. Limited parking, limited selection inside. Good for a quick stop (literally!) The employees are nice and will let you take pictures inside and out, so take out your cameras, get the black and white filters ready and take some pics.

Yes, I came here specifically because of the movie Clerks. It's been on the "to-do" list for several years now. Take away Clerks/Kevin Smith though, it's actually not a bad store at all. So I made the 1 hour drive from New York just to just take my pic outside the store as so many do (and some inside). There's a faded Clerks 2 poster outside the window and a few pics/plaques inside near the register. Right next door is the former RST Video - but although you can still see VHS tapes and such inside, the sign is no longer in the front. The walls are no longer white, but the pics I took will be in black & white anyway, so no harm no foul. Clerks fans will undoubtedly recognize little areas inside and the overall layout. Obviously I have no idea what this place looked like back in the mid 90's, but it was pretty clean today, neat, and a place that I wish was in my own neighborhood due to it's cheap and 'convenient' items you'd find in most places like this. As many other reviewers on here have already mentioned, you should at least purchase something if you're coming because of the movie. Of course I purchased a snack, a Gatorade, and even shoe polish (yes, I wanted a keepsake I would never use) and it was quite cheap - though that could be the area, since if I bought the same items near me, I'd be paying a lot more. So for both the experience and for the actual store itself (if you're a local resident), it's certainly worth a visit.

Like Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash, the Quick Stop is another must-see for fans of Kevin Smith. His first movie, Clerks, is based on his interactions with customers and co-workers while working here in the '90s. Don't be afraid to pull out your camera and take a few photos, the employees seem rather accustomed to it by now. It really isn't much other than its name states; a quick stop to pick up cigarettes, light groceries, or snacks. I highly recommend that if you go here on account of Kevin Smith, at least have the decency to buy something.

The store itself is your usual mini-mart with the addition of Clerks posters and paraphernalia behind the counter. It's a pretty small spot and parking is limited, but it's fine for a "quick stop". Coming here was pretty much the highlight of my trip to Jersey. The lady behind the counter was really nice, letting us get stupid with our camera. She's been at the store for 18 years, and she knows Kevin Smith really well. She also mentioned that people come from all over the world to visit, so when we mentioned we were from California, she wasn't all that impressed.

I have to laugh about the other review since I did the same thing and I am a local. On one of my rides I thought it would be cool to stop by the Quick Stop and get a picture of my bike in front. Of course once I got there I was embarrassed. When I pulled up the lot was empty but as soon as I posed my bike a vehicle would pull in. I was trying not to be obvious but I guess I am not the first person to go the store. I have never been inside though since the Quick Stop pretty serves the folks that are local to Leonardo. There are other C Stores (this is NJ) that are much closer. I am surprised there is only one other review. This is a must see for any Clerks fan visiting the area.

Far from just being the movie set for Clerks, this is still a working convenience store on the Jersey Shore. And it really is amazing how little of it has changed in 20 years. All of the iconic "locations" are still there (but modernized). The cigarettes that Randall sold to a minor are still behind the counter. The milk and eggs that the anal customers shook, are still toward the back in the refrigerator case. The candy aisles that the epic, climactic fight took place in still in the middle of the store. Even the room where the most disgusting (implied) sex scene in movie history is still locked away behind the big silver door reading "employees only." If only I had remembered to ask for porn! The regulars and real clerks here have the patience of saints when tourists like myself take pictures of ALL OF IT! I bought a Brisk Iced Tea to fuel me on the rest of my road trip and it was about average price (and didn't exist in 1994). I'm sure the old people buying scratchers at the counter would be less patience if people just gaped. Just be forewarned, the parking situation is less than optimal out front. Turning off Leonard Avenue into a diagonal parking spot in full traffic can be hazardous. But the chance to relive my youth, and be a total Kevin Smith fanboy, outweighed potential damage to my car for sure.

I did stop in for a drink, and the service was good enough BUT, we all know the real reason to review this place. If you've ever seen the Kevin Smith movie "Clerks" (If you haven't, you really should!), than you'll recognize this as the actual convenient store from the film, and goes by the same name still! The "RST Video" store from the film was unoccupied when I was there, but not sure about the status currently" Anyways, it is really cool to see in person and of course you have to get a photo op out front. (Not original by any means, but who cares!) Definitely a memory that will last, hopefully they keep this place going for years to come.

OMG they ruined the clerks wall

I love the clerks movie so me and my gf took a drive to the store where the first movie was filmed and i must say its all like it was in the movie except the owners painted the famous white wall a peach color wtf is there no respect for the history that was made there .but anyway its worth a visit and its not far from kevin smiths comic book store in red bank

I love this place--it's owned by the kids of another favorite place of mine, "Cleveland the Tailor"…read morein Red Bank. Cleveland III is the shop owner, tailor, and shoe repair person. I've gone back time and time again and have never felt anything but respected, and have nothing but quality work done, whether it was dry cleaning, tailoring, or shoe repair. His prices are fair, and his turnaround times for my things was more than reasonable. I've never used his shoe dye service, granted, but when I had a minor issue with something that was dry cleaned, he listened, was receptive to what happened, and told me to bring over the item so that he could make good on the problem. He also immediately contacted the dry cleaner, and called me back to tell me he had discussed it with him and that he personally felt very bad about everything. I think they are a great family, and with a tailor like Cleveland as their guiding light, I can't imagine they'd be in any way unprofessional or disrespectful to anyone.

Does NOT deserve even 1 star!!! Paid for shoes and purse to be dyed to match my dress for my son's…read morewedding, the owner dyed them wrong color also the purse was stained and blotchy. When I asked for a refund he refused, I asked if he had a solution, He said he did not, then told me he had to think about it and to come back later. I went back 3 times to try to resolve the issue, was told by the same owner..did you change your attitude..I replied:..you ruined my shoes and purse, what are you going to do about it..he replied:..I'm doing nothing..and told me to leave the store while he walked into his back room. I even suggested if he refused to refund my money to at least dye the shoes and purse black (because black is the only color at this point that they can be dyed)so that I may possibly use them for another occasion and it would not be a total loss, he refused. My husband went back to try and resolve the issue and he gave my husband the same replies. My daughter also tried to calmly reason with him explaining we are on a short time frame and that he was paid for the service and to try to find a way to possibly fix the problem but he refused to reason with her also and told her to leave because he wanted to eat his lunch. My daughter expressed to him that the wedding was in two weeks his reply was..I don't care..The owner of this shop is very unprofessional, disrespectful, unreasonable and unwilling to work with customers. The owner's behavior was beyond irrational. Clearly he does not know his trade because if he did he would know how to rectify the issue also not a good business owner because if he were he would know how to fix a service issue that was paid for and went wrong. This business caused me much stress only two weeks before my son's wedding plus more money for another pair of shoes and a purse and finding another place that can have them dyed and ready in time for the wedding. As of this writing I contacted several other shops to see if the shoes and purse could be fixed, they all refused due to the poor work he had already done. He had absolutely NO compassion for the stress he caused us. Do not use this business for anything of importance.
