The science classes are insightful, intellectual, not like anything I have ever seen in New York City, Las Vegas or Santa Barbara, California. How amazing is this treasure in Sonoma County! Each class was as academic as a museum. The teachers specialize by constantly training. They are literally finding new ways to make the students brighter. Brilliance seems to follow every student as the teachers work so hard preparing new ways for them to learn. I interview them. I sat down with international visitors. We watched them prepare to make the students smarter. The teachers I met had students that went on to graduate at Harvard University and Stanford University. In Santa Rosa, they prepare young, and find themselves ready for the best university on the planet. The academic interest in the students progress is extraordinary. The teachers get the parents energized. I began decades ago with the first students when the school opened. The irony is I remember when the builders were developing the school from the ground up because the houses in the area where as new as the building of Strawberry. We played soccer in a lake of mud nearly forty years ago. Now the grass is fresh, green and lively. As children years ago, we were going to Bennett Valley and Yulupa before Strawberry opened for business. Later I won the Bennett Valley Teachers Award thanks to the excellent leadership of my teacher, role models, because they were the adults I knew as my father was sick with cancer and my mother worked full time as far away as Marinwood near San Rafael. I say that the teachers of Strawberry allowed me to succeed because the events, awards, the care they gave me led to the confidence that helped me in career today. I see that the teachers are even better now with their increased technology, new text books and the trips like that one to Washington D.C. How extraordinary!

Two stars for communication as a parent to a teacher, assistant principal, principal, coaches…read morecommunication is just pathetic!!!!!! So this is not the only reason they're getting one star we just sat through a two hour senior ceremony as they sent my son a letter saying he was going to get an award for something after two hours of sitting in the hot humid gym with all his friends there was no award obviously a miscommunication but I am steaming mad my son is hurt and embarrassed sitting with his friends for two hours as they all receive awards and he gets nothing thanks a lot staff!!!! Just imagine this is your kid they had really tried hard his last year as a senior and got very good grades really excelled and proved himself was all excited he was going to be sitting with his friends receiving an award for all his accomplishments and his name was not called put yourself in my shoes I think you'll be pretty pissed off too! Thank God he is done here! shame on you Montgomery high school staff. So the other part was we bought our son a car and a few weeks later somebody had backed into at Montgomery high school parking Over $5000 worth of damage when I went to the school to ask them if they had video they said "we don't think so?" I said "well can you check please this is a hit-and-run on your property" and three weeks later they said "I don't think we can find it we don't think our cameras go back that far into the parking lot" thanks for nothing & thanks for your concern not once did anybody say they were sorry.

It is unbelievable how much time these coaches volunteer during the week and one the weekends. And these coaches are amazing mentors to the players. And I want to say a special thanks to Coach Mathis for all that he has done for my son. *** NOTE: This review is NOT about Village Elementary School! (which is a FABULOUS school!!) This…read morereview is intended to describe their Parent's Club President (Sherina Saul-Tuxson) ONLY. *** I attended "Family Night" here at my 3rd grade daughter's brand new school. It was especially exciting for us since I had just got married, so we were brand new to town and couldn't wait to meet new friends here! Everything was SO much fun... all the activities we got to share in with our kids and their teachers, great food and atmosphere! Then, as i was simply filling out a raffle ticket alongside other moms for our kids to win a park-date with their teacher, this woman comes STOMPING up behind me and (literally!) RIPS out my ticket from underneath my pen!!!! ...causing it to tear. I was in shock. Why this level of aggression, and in the midst of such a good time at an elementary school, and by a woman who i'd never seen before in my entire life??? Maybe it was an accident, etc... so I laughed it off and kindly asked her for a new ticket. But instead of apologizing, or explaining, or handing me another ticket... or any of the normal reactions i expected to get back from her, she took 2 giant steps -- directly into my face!! -- and yelled, "Too bad!," then walked away. I just stood there quietly IN SHOCK and confusion by what had just happened... when another mom (who saw it all) came right over to me. She told me that nasty girl was actually the Parents Club President named Sherina Saul-Tuxson, and that she had personally WITNESSED Sherina plotting with another mom to win that very raffle that i was entering!!! I coudn't believe it -- THAT is why Sherina ripped my ticket away from me!!! This woman also said that all her friends witnessed it too! (Apparently Sherina isn't terribly good at covering up her cheating.) Sure enough, that mom who Sherina was cheating for, went on to win the raffle. I just could not believe that this so-called president was capable of such low-life behavior, especially at an elementary school!!! Her CHEATING and AGGRESSIVE behavior toward me was ATROCIOUS beyond words. The next day, i reported Sherina to the principal. Although the principal was sympathetic and apologetic, she told me that since the Parents Club is separate from the school, there was nothing she could do. That is why i'm posting here -- To inform other mothers in the school, and the parents club members, about what Sherina did to me, how physically and verbally aggressively she treated me at the very first event of our loving new school, and all for NO other reason than to BULLY an unsuspecting Mother, in order to CHEAT at an elementary school family raffle. How pathetic and shameful. I'd also like to please raise awareness to elect a NEW president! I CAN'T WAIT to join the Parents Club -- as soon as she is dismissed. There is just NO ROOM for that kind of disgraceful behavior toward our fellow moms, and especially in the midst of our elementary-aged children. Thank you.

I can not rave enough about this amazing school! We transferred into the school from another…read moredistrict and feel blessed to be a part of the school community. Seriously guys, high school is just one of those things that goes in the "file under totally lame"…read morecategory. And it's mostly due to the raging hormones and complete awkwardness that accompany ages 14 through 18. But MCHS did a relatively good job at making sure it wasn't AS LAME as it could be. I had amazing teachers here (BIG UPS TO: Mr. Kammer, Mrs. Milligan, Mr. Collinsworth, Mr. Kuschner [RIP], that one math teacher guy who I had for Algebra 3-4 but whose name I forget because it has been some years and Senora Renzi [I think that was it, Spanish, what-what]) and I came out of the whole thing a better person. And thanks to the whole "college prep" thing, cause I am naturally pretty smart, but I'd like to think MCHS helped nurture that just a bit. Maybe I'm biased because I was in something like the third or fourth graduating class but the facilities are NICE. I'm assuming that the place is still kept in pretty great condition. I mean, how many other high schools have campuses as gorgeous and technologically-advanced as this one? Try going to a high school in Lake County and just compare...MCHS kids are lucky. Minus half a star because the parking situation is crap. And minus the other half because Principal Klick is a total square, or at least he was when I was in high school. Finally, all you other folk best pay tribute to my class, 2002, and Kyle Rogers in particular, for providing the lovely number template up on the hill. REPRESENT.

The worst thing here the staffs here were very hostile to muslims like myself then as well as insulting my culture and ethnicity as a Yemeni-Acehnese. Especially Stewart Clark, he would call my culture primitive and stupid. I was sent to detention here a lot with little to no justification and the little justifications had literally no proof. I was then sent to a counselor because Assistant Principal Stewart Clark thinks Islam is a mental illness and he even referred me to a psychologist which well it didn't work because I was not mentally ill. And then the higher staffs then sent me on suspension multiple times all because of my views and religion and ethnicities. Some of the students here are islamophobic and have a deep hatred for arabs like myself and some were responsible with making false claims on me then to get me into trouble. I was then assumed to be dangerous by Stewart Clark just because I'm muslim and a Yemeni-Acehnese. I got my backpack searched without permission and was seen as an enemy by him and other staffs like principal Rutherford for my race and religion. Eventually I was expelled. The experience here left me with PTSD to this day. I hope Steward Clark, Principal Rutherford, and the counselor then understands how their bigotry then.
