Each and every one of the teachers explained that during class they lock down the bathrooms during class because people will skip class and just vape. If you had to go to the bathroom you would be escorted by the principal and the principal will wait in front of your stall. They don't even have and school officers because they refuse to pay for them. I heard from someone that a person threatened them with a pocket knife during school and pushed it up against their side and made them sit next to them the whole day. Everyone there judges you and they give you dirty looks. %75 of people there have/do drugs. About a month after I left I heard on the news that a kid brought a knife to school and charged another kid with it. When I was there for only like a day I felt scared and would rather be in jail for a day. I went the next day and didn't even last half the day. I faked being sick and left. I never went back ever again.

This summer I returned to visit Strawberry Elementary School with fond amazement: Teachers take…read morestudents on trips to Washington D.C. The science classes are insightful, intellectual, not like anything I have ever seen in New York City, Las Vegas or Santa Barbara, California. How amazing is this treasure in Sonoma County! Each class was as academic as a museum. The teachers specialize by constantly training. They are literally finding new ways to make the students brighter. Brilliance seems to follow every student as the teachers work so hard preparing new ways for them to learn. I interview them. I sat down with international visitors. We watched them prepare to make the students smarter. The teachers I met had students that went on to graduate at Harvard University and Stanford University. In Santa Rosa, they prepare young, and find themselves ready for the best university on the planet. The academic interest in the students progress is extraordinary. The teachers get the parents energized. I began decades ago with the first students when the school opened. The irony is I remember when the builders were developing the school from the ground up because the houses in the area where as new as the building of Strawberry. We played soccer in a lake of mud nearly forty years ago. Now the grass is fresh, green and lively. As children years ago, we were going to Bennett Valley and Yulupa before Strawberry opened for business. Later I won the Bennett Valley Teachers Award thanks to the excellent leadership of my teacher, role models, because they were the adults I knew as my father was sick with cancer and my mother worked full time as far away as Marinwood near San Rafael. I say that the teachers of Strawberry allowed me to succeed because the events, awards, the care they gave me led to the confidence that helped me in career today. I see that the teachers are even better now with their increased technology, new text books and the trips like that one to Washington D.C. How extraordinary!

The worst thing here the staffs here were very hostile to muslims like myself then as well as insulting my culture and ethnicity as a Yemeni-Acehnese. Especially Stewart Clark, he would call my culture primitive and stupid. I was sent to detention here a lot with little to no justification and the little justifications had literally no proof. I was then sent to a counselor because Assistant Principal Stewart Clark thinks Islam is a mental illness and he even referred me to a psychologist which well it didn't work because I was not mentally ill. And then the higher staffs then sent me on suspension multiple times all because of my views and religion and ethnicities. Some of the students here are islamophobic and have a deep hatred for arabs like myself and some were responsible with making false claims on me then to get me into trouble. I was then assumed to be dangerous by Stewart Clark just because I'm muslim and a Yemeni-Acehnese. I got my backpack searched without permission and was seen as an enemy by him and other staffs like principal Rutherford for my race and religion. Eventually I was expelled. The experience here left me with PTSD to this day. I hope Steward Clark, Principal Rutherford, and the counselor then understands how their bigotry then. I really hope things has changed today from the time I'm there and the school being more accepting to diversity now and has more respect to other backgrounds.
