After checking in through the mobile check-in, I was called back within 5 minutes. I had a lab test done over 3 hours and almost every lab tech, including my main one, checked on me throughout my waiting period. I had two different lab techs for 4 blood draws - Ana and Jesus - both were kind, efficient, and accurate. I absolutely will come back here for more labs if needed. read more

I go out of my way to get labs done here. The staff is upbeat, friendly, quick, and very good at what they do. No one likes blood draws, and after donating blood for quite a while, my veins are no longer interested and now I'm a hard stick. I need a tiny needle and my veins roll and hide. The phlebotomists here always get it on the first try, smoothly without making me feel Like they pushed the needle clear through my arm, and they strike up a conversation to distract while the blood is collected. I had to bring my German exchange student to get blood work done. She was already scared given she was in a different country without family. Jesus our tech was amazing but it was extremely difficult to find veins. He didn't give up though and brought in Taylor who used heat packs all sorts of other tricks to get the blood drawn. At one point both she and Jesus were working as a team! We really felt like they gave us top notch service! They easily could have said "sorry can't help, bye"! But they didn't. The ladies who work here make this place awesome. I pushed myself too quick to get up after the nice woman who took my blood told me to take my time getting up, well I should of listened cause about 10 steps in I ended up blacked out on the hallway floor and all. They all knew exactly what to do and were so patient and kind with me. I felt awful about it but they were so understanding and helpful, they gave me tips for next time so that doesn't happen again. Vanessa G is one of the most disrespectful people I've ever met. They wouldn't take my blood bc they didn't have an "account number " to my doctors office that sent the order, even though they have sent me there and many patients previously. The manager of my doctors office was waiting 20 minutes for someone to get on the phone. What was supposed to be a 10 minute visit turned into an hour and being treated disgustingly. The first girl who took me back didn't even speak English, and when I was trying to ask about my situation, the girl gave me the "give me a minute finger " also didn't even get my blood taken. I wouldn't have felt so neglected if her tone was just a little different. read more

I have difficult veins that are hard to find except for 1 that now has scarring from regular iv infusions but Young lady (name starts with K) who took my blood got my vein on the first try and painlessly. My first visit to Quest was initially scheduled for November 25th, right after Thanksgiving, and I received a confirmation text the day before. When I showed up, there was a note on the door that the place was closed so I rescheduled for today, December 2nd. I didn't have high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised. I checked in for my appointment through the link sent to my phone. When I arrived, I was taken back immediately. Sonia was the phlebotomist/ technician. She was friendly, professional, and very efficient. I hate needles and when she took my blood, I barely felt a pinch. I'll return to Quest at this location again just because of the location. Just prepping and getting up early for blood work that requires fasting is pretty stressful. Postponing my morning caffeine and only having water to start the day is less than desirable. Going to have blood drawn despite my aversion to needles is my idea of miserable. My first trip to this Quest in October ended abruptly when it seemed that the order from my primary care doctor was not in the system. For my return trip I made sure I was armed with a printed copy of that primary care physician's order and was glad I was because it did need to be presented. My arrival included having my temperature taken, my confirmation code on my Quest email inputted and my name added to the list with my appointment time. Chairs are safely spaced apart in the lobby and I was called just about five minutes after my 7:15 a.m. appointment time. Pays to get there early! I was ushered in, asked a few questions, produced my medical card to provide the membership number and handed over my credit card for payment. All very efficient and perfunctory. Blood was drawn, vials produced for me to verify my name was properly labeled and off I went. Much less crowded than the waiting rooms have been in years part but also much more mechanical without much effort to put a patient at ease. But I guess few of us are at ease at all these days so I guess that is just the way it is for now. read more

Don't like needles? Scared of the pinch? Well for someone who is both! I can truly say that Quest McDill is absolutely amazing! Walked in at 7am with a appointment scheduled for 1:30pm, checked in early appointment. Was seen in Maybe 10 minutes at most! Daniel greeted me with a strong yet reassuring personality that made my blood work for a physical effortless and eased my fears about bloodwork. Recommendation: Do Not Book Appointment, as Walk ups get priority! Been sitting here for 1 hr I checked in hour before my appointment And they keep sayin 1-3-8 min And then they push me down. They prioritize walk ins over appointments And the staff is so rude I was told to go to another place If I didn't like it! And when I finally brought it up, they said they prioritize walk ins as they have to clear the room first. This makes zero sense as I am in the medical field. At our practice we honor those who have appointment and choose to come in early. We don't push them down. Walk ups should always get second priority. Your system really leaves a bad taste in folks mouths, and clearly isn't on par with the rest of medical community. Your Yelp Reviews are filled with this exact complaint. Clearly you all do not care to fix this. Maybe upper level management needs to become more aware of this! Lastly you folks are very rude when you bring this up. I came in this morning to Quest as soon as they opened as a walk in. They opened at 6. They were calling all of the people who had appointments. They called me in at 6:37am. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The person drawing my blood was very nice and personable. I love how I didn't have to wait long because I did have to be to work at 7. This is a joke of a place. I made an appointment and arrived about 8 minutes early. Checked in via the kiosk and my appointment was verified indicating they would text me at my appointment time as I chose to wait outside the lobby. After waiting 25 minutes past the scheduled appointment time I left. I received a text 46 minutes later advising me to come into the lobby and I would be called soon. Why bother to make an appointment if they don't honor them???? Will never go to Quest again. read more

This is the worst Quest I have been to in my entire life. The worst blood lab actually. I have been going to quest for many years and they have always been punctual and fair. I had to leave this waiting room 3 hours after my scheduled appointment as I watched people cycle through in front of me. The waiting room has one iPad and it's impossible to talk to someone until you get called back. There is literally a lock on the office door to stop you from going in and asking questions. Very new, very clean. Not sure why this has a low rating out of the majority of Quests in Tampa Bay. I was a walk-in the last hour in which they were open, and they were very welcoming and did not turn me away as other Quests have in the past (who can wait weeks for lab work, really?). I came to this Quest location to get blood work requested by my Primary Care Physician completed. The building itself is super new and spacious, and parking was not an issue. The office itself is running well, however, there appeared to be a discrepancy between directions on the Quest App and their front-office software. I waited in my car for my appointment time to avoid potential COVID-19 exposure and after 7 minutes after my appointment time I went upstairs to follow-up. It turns out that they were calling for me in the waiting room for almost 10 minutes! Apparently this is a known issue with the Quest app, which itself is buggy. But the staff here from the front-office worker to the phlebotomist were all professional and courteous. Not a bad experience overall for a generally unpleasant activity. read more

Absolutely awful phlebotomy technique. My vein was immediately blown and the needle was not held steady resulting in more bleeding. Less than 2 hours after my appointment I had a large hematoma with a lot of bleeding and decreased range of motion in my arm. Quest needs to stock Coban and/or pressure dressings rather than just tape. Not to mention they were an hour behind on appointment times read more

At my primary care's suggestion tried walk-in but was extremely busy. Waited 45 minutes and then decided to keep my scheduled appointment same day afternoon. In the afternoon the system kicked me out and I was again registered as walk-in. My lab draw was again delayed by half an hour. Rude staff who recommended that i go to Lab core as they give a better service. Wouldn't even apologize for their inefficient system. They over book slots and let customers wait. Appointments are useless because they take walk ins and don't prioritize people who have already made appointments. I'm extremely disappointed and upset. My mother was ordered to get a blood test which she did at 8:15 am this morning. The doctor requested the results STAT. It is now 5 pm and even though her doctor has called quest for the results several times today - no response. My mother has advanced kidney disease. Could Quest follow the doctor's request? No. I'm sorry but this is inexcusable. Tampa Swann Ave Quest Diagnostics team - just a little compassion would go a long way. And by the way - it's really not cool to stop answering the phone and 4:45 when your hours say 5 pm. Who works there that cares? If someone does I'd be happy to see the response but what I'd really like is my mother's blood test STAT which is what her doctor requested and seems appropriate to accommodate for an 8:15 am appt.
