Very professional, kind and so efficient! I had an apt but the waiting room was almost full. I was called back in less than 5min and the phlebotomist (wish I remembered her name) I had was so kind and courteous. She got my labs after one poke and I was able to leave within 15min of arriving. I thoroughly dislike how automated their system is. You cannot talk to a person over the phone, it is only an automated phone tree that never allows you to talk to staff to answer questions, unless perhaps you are a doctor (which I'm not). I had to do a stool sample, and it came with no physical instructions and only very vague verbal instructions from one of the staff when I was given the testing kit (to be fair this was just before closing). I got it home and realized I had multiple questions, but I had no information and no way to ask questions over the phone even during business hours. I also could not find instructions on their website either. So, it's a shot in the dark as to whether I conducted the test properly--we shall see. But I can't recommend a place that puts so much effort into not dealing directly with patients. read more

Doesn't matter if you make an appointment...right after their lunch break when they shouldn't be backed up. They don't go by your appointment regardless!! There are 2-3 nurses and I've been here 20 minutes! Only one person has been called in! Two patients have left because it is taking so long! It's understandable if they are just busy but that's not the case when k let one person has been called in, with 2-3 working nurses, within 20 minutes!!! ***Still waiting! Not my favorite place. Let me tell you why. It is supposed to be a walk in place to get your labs, e.g. blood draw, urine samples, etc. for physicals as well as drug testing for employment, etc. I am not sure if things have changed, but apparently now you need an appointment but they have no front office just a kiosk to check in and then it is supposed to put you in the cue. If you ever make it back to the lab area, the staff is very nice and know their business and also seem to care, however, they always seemed rushed. In any case I logged in and it told me that I could either reserve a spot 6 hours later or go on standby. So I went on standby and after an hour I stepped out to take a call and when I came back apparently they called me and so since I didn't answer, I was deleted from the queue. Anyway, I was able to get in after a wait. I am not sure if all Quest facilities are like this, but the one on North Beach Street, I would highly recommend you make a reservation rather than just popping in! read more

They are always fast, friendly and pain free! The ER usually brutalizes my veins but these techs know what they are doing! My last tech/nurse was so sweet. They were reasonably friendly but skill and professionalism were lacking. My wife went to have blood drawn. Her veins are small, but it didn't pose too great a challenge to the blood techs at a certain competing diagnostic lab. At this Quest location my wife emerged with multiple bruises. At least once during her visit the techs broke the cardinal rule of blood drawing that you don't poke around once the needle is inserted. If you are a "hard stick" do yourself a big favor and find another lab. read more

I'm here for a pre-employment drug screening. My wait time was supposed to be 48 minutes. It's been over an hour and I'm still waiting. They don't even have a person at the front desk. You sign in at a little kiosk. Update: I waited for 2 hours and was NEVER called in. I tried calling and couldn't get a real person to answer. Their automated system says they take walk ins but can't guarantee service. When I selected the option to speak to someone it just rings and rings. read more

Wow! This is the worst run lab I've ever encountered. My advice: drive on and find another location. This lab did not get the memo that the nation is battling a pandemic. Here are my concerns: 1.) Allowing people other than those there for lab work to come into waiting area and wait. Not enforcing social distancing in the waiting area seems foolhardy. Grown people bringing "hand-holders" in with them to wait for their turn to get blood drawn is just ridiculous. Go and sit in your cars, people. The waiting room is too small and too congested even without a pandemic. The waiting room was standing room only, and NO ONE from Quest is wiping the chairs down in between the "the patients". Every other medical facility or testing facility I've visited in the past 4 months has a policy of waiting in car until it's your turn, and wiping seats down in between patients. Even my hairdresser does this. 2.) No one from Quest is taking temps as people enter the waiting area. They are allowing dozens of people in an hour to come in and sit not knowing whether people are exhibiting signs of the virus or not. 3.) Walk-ins were seen in the same rotation as those with appointments. Why make an appointment if you have to sit and wait like a walk-in? This lab is poorly managed. I didn't like the crowd of people in there acting as "hand-holders" for grown adults who did not need the help of a "carer". The lab needs to stop that right away. The waiting room is a hazardous zone: multiple people came and went and there was no attempt to sanitise the chairs or the sitting area. Appointments should be given precedence over walk-ins. Walk-ins should be worked in around those who took time to make appointments. read more

Not sure what all the fuss is about in the other reviews. I made an appointment online for 10:30am, I showed up at about 10:15ish and signed in at the digital pad. The digital pad asks maybe 5 questions total (all things you should know and if you made an appointment online, then this is to verify info). Nothing to bark at. I was called back at 10:30am, which was my exact appointment time for a job UA. I was getting back in my truck by 10:42am. My technicians name was Alexa A. and she was awesome! The girl may have gotten blood with the first try but she did it more painfully than the lady at my Dr's office that stuck me a few times and did not get any. I called to see if I needed an appointment and they stated that you do not have to have an appointment and she never offered to ask if I wanted one. So I did not make one. MOMS WITH BABIES NEEDING TO GET BLOOD DRAWN DONT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE! My son is 3 months old and needed to have blood work done to check for anemia. (he was premature). Unfortunately the lab that my pediatrician usually uses was out of network so they told me to use quest diagnostics or try cook children's. I went to quest because it was close by. When they called me back the nurse seemed a little uncertain and asked for another nurse to come in and assist her. I had a moment where I thought, maybe I should just go to cooks, but then thought they would tell me if they felt like they couldn't do the job. I wish I had listens to my instincts. They spent some time looking for the vein and then poked him and moved the needle around trying to draw blood. Obviously my baby was unhappy. After that they told me that I should try going to cooks...so I went in put my baby through pain and they couldn't even draw the blood I needed for his test. I don't know how they are with older children/adults, but I wouldn't take my baby back there. read more

Next, I was asked if I would like to wait inside or outside. I chose to wait outside. It indicated that my wait time would be approx. 41 minutes and that I would receive a text when to return to the waiting area. Exactly 40 minutes later I received a text and 5 seconds after walking back in my name was called. I went to the back, had my blood drawn, and by 8 am I was leaving. Had to go to this location to get a saliva test. The instructions were explained but it was a little complicated, so I would suggest providing a paper or something with instructions. Wasn't told to refrigerate, wasn't told how much was necessary, and when I first asked about what I was supposed to do I was told "your doctor didn't explain it?" Nope. I'm probably going to have to re-do the test, but proper explanation and paper instructions (or at least a website referral for instructions) would be a good idea! read more

The worst lab place ever! Very slow doing simple lab draws. Not only did I wait in line for almost three hours the first time, but then I arrived before opening the second time only to discover they couldn't get the door open! That took another 20 minutes before another person arrived to unlock it. Ridiculous. Also, on my first visit I had to ice my arm because they roughly jabbed me through the vein to the other side. read more
