In August I went in, did what the injector advised (as always) and two weeks later had ZERO results. Again, I've gone to this location many times before and have never had an issue, so I assumed it could be a product issue, and not necessarily the injector. I went back to address the issue/results with the injector and was advised that they could do nothing because it wasn't "her business" but to contact the owner. I contacted the owner multiple times (with photos), with no response. This was handled to poorly, that I can't even wrap my head around it. The lack of response was unprofessional at best.

I genuinely cannot believe the way I was treated at this Quest location this morning…read more I was called back and handed the employee my prescription for bloodwork. I also asked whether they had received a prescription/order from another one of my doctors. She initially told me no. I explained that I had confirmed with my doctor yesterday that it had been sent and politely asked if she could please check again. I was looking at her computer at this point and she "checked again"and suddenly found it, but told me it "wasn't a prescription." Fine. I explained that I knew I would need a specimen cup and asked whether I could take one home while I followed up with my doctor. Instead of simply explaining what she needed from the doctor, she walked across the room, opened a drawer full of different specimen cups, and told me to COUNT how many different kinds of cups were in the drawer. I explained what the sample was for and said I would call my doctor, which she initially agreed I should do. Then, while I was trying to contact my doctor, she AGAIN demanded that I count the different kinds of specimen cups in her drawer. My jaw was practically on the floor. I finally told her, "I don't need to count what's in that drawer." At that point, she REFUSED TO DRAW MY BLOOD and told me to go back to the waiting room. At 7:30 in the morning, I was just not in the mood for this woman, so I stayed quiet and walked out the door. Thankfully, another employee named Mikaela stepped in. She drew my blood, FOUND THE ORDER I had been asking about, gave me the specimen cup I needed, told me I owed money, even though the last Quest bill I had said $0 but fine. I paid what she asked. In other words, the things I had been told apparently couldn't be done were handled by another employee without all of the unnecessary hostility and drama. I asked for the first employee's name and was told it was "Jay." I cannot independently confirm that is actually her name, but that is the name I was given. What bothers me most is thinking about elderly patients being treated this way. This area like my 80 year old mother who may already have difficulty getting to appointments, understanding medical orders, or navigating the healthcare system. Imagine speaking to an elderly, sick or vulnerable patient this way because they asked a question about a specimen cup. The arrogance, hostility, and complete lack of professionalism I experienced was just astounding!!!Refusing to perform someone's blood draw because they wouldn't participate in some bizarre power trip of counting specimen cups in a drawer is absolutely ridiculous. And unfortunately, this isn't my first frustrating experience with Quest. I've previously had appointments where the location was changed or where I arrived and no one was there to provide the scheduled service. After today, the low reviews for this location make a lot more sense. Mikaela , thank you for finding the order, drawing my blood, and simply doing what I came there to have done. What kind of chip does someone have on their shoulder to believe they are so entitled to simply refuse a patient's blood draw because the patient questioned their behavior? That is an extraordinary amount of power for someone to think they have over a person who is there seeking medical services. Patients should not have to worry if declining to participate in an employee's condescending little exercise will result in that employee retaliating by refusing their care. As for "Jay," if that is indeed her name: the last place someone with that kind of attitude should be working is in a patient-facing healthcare setting! I expect a response from Quest regarding this experience. I am not taking it lightly. Someone in management should be reviewing what happened, because patients should not be subjected to this kind of behavior and then have an employee apparently decide, on her own, that they will no longer receive the service they came in for. Completely unnecessary. Completely unprofessional. And absolutely disgusting treatment of a patient who was simply trying to get her lab work done.
