If I could give them zero stars, I would. My appointment time was at 10am. I promptly show up, sign in on the computer in the front of the waiting room (even though I signed in ahead of time online, the night before, but hey... Never hurts to double-check that you're "In"), and have a seat. The room was PACKED: People were standing out in the hallway because the phlebotomists were so behind. And to top it off, someone in the waiting room kept farting and laughing about it. Oh, what Joy.... People started to get anxious and huddle around the entry door to the hallway of exam rooms, trying to snag a nurse, and schmooze them into letting them cut the line. Okay, I get it. I was getting antsy too. You know what made it awful, though, the schmoozing was working and the phlebotomists were taking people out of order, based on who bitched the most! 11am rolls around and I can't snag a nurse to even ASK if I'm checked in or not, so I go back up to the monitor in the front of the room and RE-Check myself in (now, we're up to check-in #3, for 1 single appointment, at this stage). The monitor estimates my appointment will be at 11:40am - 1 hour and 40 minutes after my initial appointment time and two hours after I arrived. The room had no damn ventilation going, the human bodies are packing in here like a herd of cattle into a pen and the temperature is rising. Thank GOD I'm wearing a mask. I finally make it to an exam room and it's 11:50am. Mind you, I had to get nasty with one of the phlebotomist's, but still... I got in. End Result: Quest is ran like a fuckin' Zoo. My suggestion is to go to LabCorp. read more

I never felt the needle when she inserted it to draw blood! I'm confident my results will be properly forwarded to my doctor when I get my annual physical in about a week. read more

There's no human representative to call, there's no human representative in the front either. I guess they only have phlebotomists? They have u check in on an iPad (and either another patient told you that's what u had to do or u put the 2 together yourself because as I said there's no employee to help u). I just had to do a 3 hour glucose test. Had appointment for 9:20, wasn't seen until 10, (which is just for them to give me the drink...) I just ended up walking out. Had my kid with me, it was too overwhelming experience. I'm pregnant, just couldn't deal with it. I know because I'm pregnant I'm forgetful so try to write stuff down or I'll call a day prior if it's a new place to make sure I have stuff figured out. I came to pick up a 24 hr urine jug, and to get some bloodwork done. There was no way to reach anyone before coming in to ask a question - you had to go through a huge number of prompts just to transfer to a national customer service center. This took me nearly an hour both times, and didn't have any info about the location. I actually had to tell them that this location existed because they were trying to send me to E 29th street. I had a new drs appointment with my doc because the questions were too much, apparently, and needed a new appointment to answer so I could go do original test. The blood draw was fine, though there were far too many questions about my routine urine and blood draw. I would have given the first part of this process a 5 star review. The service center isn't their fault, I would reason. Upon return with the urine jug, you're not supposed to need an appointment. No information on how long until the sample expires, so I called again and spent an hour on the phone to hear "we don't know, but às soon as possible". So I hurried back. You don't need an appointment. Walk-ins are not guaranteed to be seen, but if you are dropping off a sample then you can choose that prompt on the check in touchscreen. Unfortunately, none of these attempts to prep made any difference. I would rate the return visit as 1 star. The reason is because it should be easy to drop off a sample. My sample has no identifying data on it, so I didn't want to abandon it until I saw a sticker with my name on it. Not that I think these folk would intentionally corrupt my sample, but that it happens sometimes. It has happened to me more than once and I've been told to perform due diligence as I want the correct sample recorded under my name. I brought the jug. I checked in as 19. 20 was the number assigned to the walking behind me. The wait was immense. Then I had to go to the back and try explaining why there wasn't any other paperwork included. It wasn't in the system correctly. They were frustrated, I understand that. The end result was a weird situation where i was being kinda blame for there not being more info, and also not being allowed to leave my urine. My urine had no writing on the label and I asked if I should add it and they said no. I worried that my results may belong to someone else because of this. It felt like both visits I was the customer they used to train new staff. I don't think my doctor was asking for something outrageous. Not sure why it was so difficult. Then, the blooodwork appeared in online rest but the urine data was lost and I had to call 3 offices and make 2 online accounts before talking to the right person who could make the results appear correctly. I went to this Quest location recently to get some blood work done for my physical, and the experience went really smoothly. Making an appointment online in advance was key. I was able to fill out all the paperwork in advance, check in from my phone, wait outside, only go inside once I got a text that they were ready, and then not spend any time in the waiting room (which looked as socially distanced as possible, but a little crowded). I was a little late, and they were still able to accommodate my appointment without any need to reschedule, which I appreciated. The phlebotomist I got was also fantastic, and I didn't feel a thing when she inserted the needle. Results were up on their website in two days. Page 1 of 2 DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY! I needed labs as ordered by my Doctor done so I made an appointment (online) with Quest Diagnostics, yet I had a question and needed to speak to an employee. My question was, my Doctor's office emailed me the lab order to give to Quest Diagnosis. Since I do not have a printer, would it be ok to show them my phone or forward them the lab order via email? The phone number provided online prompts callers to different options yet it leads you to neither a person nor a voice mailbox. I called the main number 866-MYQUEST and Joe assisted me with my question. He said yes, sure, they can print it so when you arrive for your appt, tell them and they will print it. I asked if there should be anything I need know about my lab order, or anything at all prior to my appt and he just said no, just normal things (ID, mask, etc). I arrived for my appt. No one was at front desk, and the waiting room full without anyone ensuring that coronavirus precautions were being made. When the front desk worker appeared (Stephanie), I proceeded to tell her about the email and asked her to print my lab order, she said, no, it has to be hard copy. As I'm trying to tell her that Joe at the main office told me you can print email, she kept yelling, NO, it has to be hard copy or the Doctors office needs to send it. Considering that Stephanie was offering no assistance, and she was ignoring me to assist others, I left that office and on the same floor, went to another office external to Quest Diagnostics where an actual caring person printed my lab order so I could bring it back. I returned and held up the paper to Stephanie. After protocol (ck in, temp) I waited 10 mins in main waiting room then was put in room #3 for 30 mins. During which Sharron (a phlebotomist), while passing by, said, we will be right with you and then put me in another room. I did not observe anyone wiping or disinfecting anything, additionally there was no social distancing in the rooms beyond the front desk. People were just wearing masks. Finally, Sharron comes and looks at my lab order. She says (repeatedly) 'there's no codes'. I replied that I could call my Drs office and have them get these codes needed (and I offered repeatedly) and she would say no, no, it's our job, it's ok. It took almost an hour (25 various blood tests). She typed in the name, looked at the multiple choices it brought up, and chose a test. Once done, she told me there are 6 tests which will not be covered and proceeds to tell me it's over $900 and you can be billed, etc. Rather than speaking with me like a sympathetic person would, I say that there must be a mistake and I should not have to be billed. She said she can't do it, it's no mistake, the computer says ... I asked for a printout and the 6 tests listed as denied are test for vitamin levels and A1C... These tests are covered because I've had them done previously in every wellness check I get, which that same insurance company promotes! So something is wrong. She says there's nothing she can do and proceeds to draw 7 vials of blood from me. She did 3 attempts (needle in right arm, then left arm and then left hand). During the 6th vial, the blood flow stopped and she proceeded to wiggle and pushed the needle further into my hand. It was painful and unnecessary. It was the worst experiences I had with a phlebotomist, mentally and physically. Then I had to urinate in 2 more vails. I tried but couldn't so went to ask Sharron for water. As soon as I asked her, another employee walks up to us (Dextreme?) and said to Sharron that she's wasting too much time with one patient (me) and there's a lot more people to see. As per my employer and quest there is no appointment needed. I signed in and they were a few people in front of me which I understand but, I waited over an hour!!! Over one hour!! No one came out and spoke with me, nothing. She was extremely rough. Never had any experience like this at a quest office I have never had blood taken in this manner. Jabbed into my arm.. Left me with a huge bruise. Had to bring my one-year old son in for his first bloodwork and was so nervous hoping that the phlebotomist would be super gentle and experienced with kids! VERY luckily, my fears went away thanks to having Sydney. She was very friendly and smiley and so gentle that my son even watched her put the needle in without any movements. As a new Mom, I expected him to scream and move so much but he didn't at all. He cried for two seconds and that was it! I would definitely recommend Sydney to new parents. Environment wise, the office was definitely COVID safe with chairs spread out 6 feet apart, 2 antibacterial stations and I loved the quick kiosk check in system. Firstly, I never go out of my way to leave a bad review, but my experience was too disappointing that I feel I must share in hopes it doesn't happen to another person. I have never had someone draw my blood and cause the pain she did during and after the drawing. My veins are the easiest visible veins to draw blood from and somehow this employee managed to botch a standard procedure. After my blood was drawn I was asked to complete my urine test and as soon as I entered the restroom, I noticed my whole arm sleeve was soaking wet. I pulled up my sleeve and saw my whole arm covered in blood along with a lump the size of a ball about an inch wide where she took my blood. My vein had burst. I hurried back over to the woman who took my blood and immediately blamed what had happened on me. "She said I must have been moving my arm too much after I got my blood drawn, you can't be doing that." I was too in shock to even speak up for myself and at this point I started to turn white in my hands and arms. I knew that I was going to pass out so I proceeded to put my head down between my legs because I am prone to fainting if I don't eat for a long time and combine that with either extreme heat, alcohol, eating too fast, or seeing lots of blood, so I know the procedure. I don't faint often, but when I know I'm about to, I know what I need. She kept insisting I sit up or lay my head down on the arm rest. I could barely speak and was trying to focus on my breathing to avoid passing out, but had to explain to her that I needed my head between my legs to make sure I have blood flow to my brain so I don't pass out. All she could say to that was "well you should have your arms and legs evenly distributed down towards the floor" and "you don't have to fast more than eight hours before a blood test" in a nonchalant carefree tone while she continued to work. She kept telling me to keep talking to her, which I could barely do because I was trying focus on calming myself down by taking deep breathes. She asked me if I wanted to her to call the ambulance. I told her no thank you several times, and that all I needed was some sugar, smelling salt, and/or somewhere to lay down. She proceeded to tell me that they cannot give out any sort of food/sugar to patients and that I should be carrying a snack/bar with me. She also told me something along the lines of smelling salts being banned, not too sure. Lastly she told me that they had no place for me to lay down, which I found very hard to believe. I couldn't believe that someone could be this way, so dismissive and show no compassion for what was happening right in front of her eyes. Looking back on it now I realize she knew she messed up and was trying to cover herself every single step of the way by playing every single thing down that was happening. After about ten minutes she came over with an alcohol pad for me to smell, then about another ten minutes later she came over with water for me to drink and a wet paper towel for my head. Shortly after that she came over with a pack of gum and told me she thought this might help. Soon after that she said "If you can stand I have a room for you to lay down in." So all of a sudden she wants to actually help me. My father was a well respected and loved cardiologist in the community and had his practice in Bay Ridge. I have been around doctors and nurses all my life and never experienced someone so insensitive and dismissive. Doctors, nurses and healthcare workers are suppose to show compassion to their patients and should be the people we rely on to help us. I have many family friends who are nurses and they could not believe the story I told them that day. I know this sort of thing can happen every now and then, but the way she handled the whole thing after was just so unprofessional and beyond unsympathetic. I couldn't compete the urine test that day due to my condition, so she told me to come back any other day and that I didn't need to make another appointment. I called to find out the name of the employee that took my blood that day, but they said they don't have that information. I find that hard to believe that that kind of thing isn't documented. So I went back a few days later and told the front desk exactly what she had told me. I was told that I have to come back another time and make an appointment. I asked if the woman who took my blood last week was there today to confirm what she had told me about coming in without an appointment. The front desk brought out the two employees that were working today but I wasn't sure if one of them was her. I asked the front desk what one of the employee's name was but she proceeded to tell me she cannot give out that information. Again, I find that hard to believe that a patient cannot know the name of the person who is drawing their blood. Seems unethical. I can't believe how much time I wasted writing this, but it needed to be done because no one deserves to be treated this way. read more

If you have to go for a medical test, this place does a good job. Weekends are just insane with the large waiting room completely full. Weekdays are the best time to come from what the staff told me. My #1 suggestion is to make an appointment as walk-ins swamp the place. I was noticing that the sign in sheet only had one non-walk-in listed and that was me. Despite a 10:45 am appointment, I got taken at 11:05 am, which isn't too bad. Once taken, the staff was super friendly, made you relaxed and took care of you and the test quite quickly. In and out! I arrived at the Bay Rdge location at 8:00 am for a necessary blood test for my kidney transplant monitoring , I also needed an anti bodies test to see if the Covid vaccine had provided immunity in spite of the immune suppression of my transplant medications, The staff was pleasant but would not give me an appointment for three weeks in the late afternoon. This would necessitate taking a full day off from work and fasting for most of the day. There should be a system to accommodate walk ins . this leaves me with our the necessary monitoring and possible Covid exposure,. UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE, I came in for my disabled son's blood test and I made sure to come at 7 am on Saturday as I knew it wouldn't be as busy. There was only one person in the waiting room who was also a walk-in. Yet I was still asked to leave and make an appointment. We were a walk-in visit because there were no appointments available. We decided to sign in and wait, once we waited a couple of minutes, we were let inside yet, they refused to let me fix my son's paperwork, which could have been easily resolved in 2 minutes, yet I was still asked to leave. Unfortunately there is no zero star option. I went to the Bay Ridge Quest for a 24 hour urine test which basically requires you to not leave the house for 24 hours. I got the test kit home and was not given the proper collection device. Okay, annoying but what the heck. I went back and got what I needed. My doctor told me before I went to this location to not only just hand them the slip requesting the specific test but to point out to them what studies were needed because they always mess up this particular test. I made sure I did that. When my results came in my doctor advised me that Quest did not do the complete workup she asked for. So I will need another test which will once again require me to take a day off from work and stay home for 24 hours. I will never go back there again. Made an early appointment to avoid crowds (8:15AM). As I walked out the elevator there was a huge line for sign up. Most of walk-in's!! I passed the line thinking that I can talk to someone as I had made an appointment. The small room was full of patients, no employees assisting or monitoring the area. A counter with no sanitizing facilities, or any attendant where u should electronically sign in and wait. Walk out and will not come back again. Is there a way to give zero stars? I have to do a 24 hour urine collection. The Bay Ridge Quest gave me a bucket that would not fit anywhere in my toilet with instructions to urinate directly inside it. Impossible for a woman to do. Okay people make mistakes I understand that. The phone # doesn't allow you to talk directly to them. I called another state to get a Quest representative and she told me they were supposed to give me something to use to collect the urine and place it into that big bucket. I read the reviews but hoped I'd able to avoid major problems by scheduling an early morning appointment sometime around 8am. No such luck. When I arrived, there was a sign on the front door stating that the lab would not open until 9am and that patients should wait outside until that time. So I wandered around aimlessly before coming back at the stated time and going upstairs, where there was an electronic sign-in. But when I signed in, I saw the message that I was more than 15 minutes late so my scheduled appointment had been cancelled which meant I was now considered a "walk-in" to be seen after all the other appointments. After finding the front desk receptionist, I argued that I was there on time but their front door sign said they were opening later. She shrugged and said that sign was for weekday patients ONLY, not weekend patients. However, that was not explicitly indicated on their door sign. To make matters worse, my doctor's prescription stated that this particular type of blood draw must be completed by 8am. Because I angrily complained, Quest eventually did squeeze me in between patients. The last screw-up was that the prescription clearly stated the results were to be directly faxed to my doctor but Quest also failed to do that which meant I had to keep following up after them to get the results. read more

I was nervous about coming here for my Covid-19 antibody test because of the bad reviews I read. The reason I'm posting a review is that I just had a very good experience here, so I want to reassure others that sometimes the phlebotomists here really know what they're doing. Mine today, Gwen, was very skilled. I was in and out within 5 mins. I couldn't believe it. Do make an appointment! I did, and that paid off. They called me immediately. I literally checked in electronically, then was asking another waiting patient a question when the phlebotomist called me in. I have very messed up veins due to chemo treatments. It is always a challenge for phlebotomists to draw blood without it drying up, so to speak. They can't take it from my arms, just my hands. Gwen immediately found a vein and painlessly took my blood without leaving a bruise! This almost never happens. Very good experience. read more

There is no front desk assistant in this office so everything takes a very long time. If you have a question about checking in in there iPad then you have to wait for a very long time for someone to eventually come out and help. There is a significant number of elderly here so questions about electronic sign in come up often and everyone behind them has to wait. Very inefficient.
